The inspection of the Shapani Flyer had been postponed briefly, largely because, by luck or by fate, Ryuun had decided to accompany the customs agent(s) and the droid on this venture to learn more what happened first-hand during an inspection such as this. Needless to say, this meant security precautions in the area were much higher than normal. The customs officer approached the pair of Mrlssti alongside a protocol droid, introducing himself as 'Donald McPhloo' and explaining why there had been a small change in plans before continuing on to add that if the pair of traders were ready, the ship would be inspected now.

In space, the unfortunate damage to the freighter would have to be taken care of, but that was in the future. For now, it was a fifty-fifty tossup on whether or not the R-41's chaff burst would have let it evade all four missiles and jump to hyperspace. Blue Squadron was indeed out of reach of the new group of attackers, but there was one benefit to their tactics: the Strike-class cruiser Benevolent Wanderer patrolled the outer areas of Druckenwell's trade lanes, where is carried Green Squadron around much like a heavily armed ferryboat. With the new emergence of six craft, the Benevolent Wanderer was in range for cannon, though shots could hardly be fired indiscriminately, as had been shown. With Green Squadron newly launched and winging its way in towards the attackers on a 45 degree angle, the Benevolent Wanderer was able to fire off four ion cannon shots and two shots each from four turbolaser cannons without fear of hitting any of the freighters, including those who were scattering.

The clinic attack was undeterred, largely because the anti-terrorism task force had not been formed until after the word of the attack. Therefore, the next attack would be far less likely to succeed. In the meantime, an outside security company, such as PDS, was being considered. When it came to the droids, there was little they could do other than continue to enforce the rules and fire those who did not adhere to them, but Belkin went a step further, slowly placing his own people within the customs office, primarily a bright young man named Rolf Pervon.

The pair of Mrlssti had been pleasant enough up until the customs agent and his droid indicated that they would be coming inside the ship. Apparently there had been some confusion about what an "inspection" was, because the small, feathery creatures began to chirp frantically to each other. One of them shook his head and waved his tiny, clawed hands in a "halt" gesture. But they were talking too fast for even the protocol droid to understand. A moment later, a large, male Togrutan appeared in the door at the top of the ramp, regarding the pair of Mrlssti and the customs agents with his black, ominous eyes. He wore ornate robes similar to the Mrlssti, and also carried a formidable and finely sculpted staff. The Togrutan's towering height was almost comical compared to the tiny, feathered Mrlssti. He said something to the flighty duo as he walked down the ramp, then looked at the customs agents with a smile that happened to bare his fierce, predatory teeth. "What they are saying, officers," he explained in poor Basic, as politely as he could, "is that you may not enter here. It is too dangerous."

"We are the Order of the Sacred Nerf," he went on, "this ship is our shrine. It is a sacred place, and only the ordained may enter." At least the robes made sense, then. According to their beliefs, the Togrutan explained, if non-believers set foot inside their place of worship, it would impurify that place and, in so doing, impurify the souls of those who worshipped there. This would be most dire, because once the faithful lost their spiritual connection to the Sacred Nerf, it was sometimes impossible to recover it again and, thus, when they died, they would be doomed to wander the spiritual wastes without sustenance and without end, able to view the splender of the Nerf but unable to partake in it. It was, the Togrutan explained, a miserable existence. Then there was a small, but distinct flash in the sky above them, but the Togrutan and the Mrlssti didn't notice.

Meanwhile, above the planet, the charred remains of the Hardcell-class transport drifted ponderously from where the vessel had once been. Another ship, a small, light freighter, had been caught up in the blast and had its shields overwhelmed by the rain of particulate debris, but it was otherwise fine for the moment. Meanwhile, Barris and his fighters—now joined by the additional R-22 Spearhead—did not remain in place as the Benevolent Wanderer opened fire on them. Rather, they used the chaos of ships above Druckenwell to their advantage and delved in and among them, weaving recklessly around the traffic as if daring the Benevolent Wanderer to fire on them, and for their Green Squadron to pursue them. They did not hold back their own fire in the meantime, however, all of the ships (the R-22's as well as the R-41's) opening up on any unsuspecting freighter that presented itself to them.

The good news among this for Druckenwell was that the first R-41 Starchaser was indeed destroyed. Barris had assigned, who was it, oh yes, the Rodian to that one. He'd never liked the Rodian. No sense of humor, and unimaginative, too. It showed in his flying. The loss of his R-41 was unfortunate, however, but Barris knew the Hutt Cartel would compensate him handsomely for the damage he and his men had done today. For now, he continued to weave in and around the freighters and transports all around him, popping off a shot or a concussion missile here or there, and making sure he and his men didn't get any nearer to the Golan platform or that customs station. He was just about done here, and in a moment it would be time to leave.

The R-22 on his flank erupted into flame and vanished as one of the civilian freighters managed to pound it with a turbolaser. Yes, Barris noted, it was time to leave.

Now that was unexpected: a religious order with aversions to outsiders? Plausible enough. A false order using religion as cover to smuggle arms or spice? Also plausible. When the Togrutan arrived and offered his explanation, the customs agent heard him out. The sentient's Basic was lacking, but, fortunately, there were protocol droids for this sort of thing. Working through the droid, McPhloo asked whether or not droids were considered impure, as they were not truly living beings and, as such, would not be likely to damage the purity of the vessel. McPhloo went on further to say that the religious nature of the Order of the Sacred Nerf was welcome on Druckenwell, but that to remain on Druckenwell and move onto the planet proper, the correct customs actions had to be followed in accordance with the law, for the law viewed all with the equally dispassionate eye of justice and a religious order was no exception.

"I understand it is troublesome sir, sir, but the end result is that while we do respect your beliefs, we must search your vessel if you intend to remain on this planet."

In space, it was Blue Squadron who braved the mass of freighters to follow after the pirates, not Green Squadron. That particular group was heading to cut off the primary hyperspace access route while the Benevolent Wanderer also moved to intercept. The problem for the pirates was their lack of numbers and limited munitions, while the Druckenwell forces had the advantage of the home turf and full magazines. When Green Squadron came into range, they would fire, carefully, using twin-linked and quad-linked blasts to ensure that maximum damage was done. Unlike Blue Squadron, which was made of Druckenwell pilots, Green Squadron's pilots had served previously in the NRDF and as such, had more combat experience.
