Kruus smiled smugly as his ship exited Hyperspace above Dantooine. It was a very pleasant day he thought as he opened a bottle of Champagne, he was aboard the Commercial Nemoidian ship ‘Avarice’. He chuckled to the other Economics Committee members present, even getting to Dantooine was a victory, it had been fought through the Committee and the courts, and now they would have a good time shafting Senator Ray on his own world.

A malnourished looking Aide walked in bowing his head to the vastly more senior Kruus ‘Lord Viceroy, our communications are ready to begin transmitting’, the older Senator looked erked at being distracted from his Champagne. ‘Oogwal! Weren’t you eaten by my secretary this morning…? Transmit our data demands. Prepare the officials to be dispatched and have shuttles on standby’

The Demands were transmitted to Dantooine as follows:

‘The Economics Committee Requires, as per the Chair of the Senate and Republic Court’s ruling the following information in order to begin its investigation into the Dantooine Military.

We require a full listing of militia members and their addresses.

We require a full list of every weapon possessed by the Dantooine Militia and its location.

We require a full list of the Dantooine defenses, and their placements, also details of their manufacturers and the circumstances of their creation.

We require a full listing of the vehicles purchased as per the recent Arms deal with Kuat, their locations etc

The coordinates of the Golan Station in orbit and clearance to approach it to scan its construction level and inspect progress.

Shuttles will be dispatched within an hour carrying representatives of the Committee to confirm this information.’

"Senator, I don't see the need for this last one," Blount said as he inspected with furrowed brow a datapad on which the demands were displayed. Truth be told, he didn't see the need for any of this, and the entire flight had been a headache for him. For a man accustomed to shooting down TIEs from a turret or a cockpit, he found the prospect of chaperoning a pretentious, bureaucratic field trip to be nauseating. But things had changed since the Rebellion, and Blount had to remind himself throughout the flight to Dantooine that he knew was he was in for when he accepted the job as Cracken's Chief of Staff, so he couldn't complain.

And Cracken knew it, too. Blount swore he saw a mischievious grin on the old man's face when he assigned him to this mission; he knew the hell that Blount was in for, even worse than Endor as far as he was concerned. The Colonel might have lost his mind in the first hour, if not for the presence of his own team of NRI consultants.

"I doubt Dantooine even has information on the Golan," Blount continued in the same, exasperated tone with which he had four times refused a glass of champagne during the flight. "And anyway, NRI has already provided those figures to the Council straight from NRDF. I have a copy of them literally on this datapad. Truly Senator, I understand the other demands. I don't like them, but I understand them. But the Golan is a Republic project with which Dantooine isn't even directly involved, financially or otherwise."

The demands would have been met by that of Militia Ground Control. The Sergeant on duty read them, then funneled them to the civilian channel, in which was directed back to Senator Ray's office. As he sat there, the screen to his left lit up and his head slowly turned. He begun reading the demands and smirked. Turning his head back around, he opened the channel to the Nemoidian vessel. "Senator Kruus. What I have in front of me is garbage. You will be briefed on the sole purpose for your visit, nothing more... out." He wasn't about to give in all because Kruus had a warrent. As far as Exar could see it, they were here to inspect the turbolasers and ion cannon; in which were in jepordy now because of the Senator, but still, he would comply.

An aid to Exar entered his office. "Sir, your team is assembled." Exar nodded his head and rose, "Let us meet the good Senator, but first I want to bried the team." And the aid nodded and Exar followed her out. There were 8 militiamen assembled. Their job was to 'secure' Senator Kruus and his team, as well as show them to the planetary weaponry. "Remember, this is your planet, so do not feel obligated to answer anything." And they all replied with a yes sir. And with that, Exar would lead them to the designated landing zone for Senator Kruus... the only open landing zone at the time. When they assembled, the militiamen stood in a line behind Exar, as the Senator waited.

Kruus a leisurely pace took his time having his dinner, considering Blounts words spoken to him with relation to the Golan "Could the NRI provide us with that Data for the last point? Regardless, you may strike it off"', taking a short nap before daining to move down to the planet. Climbing aboard the elegant lighter Committee Member Cambrist had leant him. It glided elegantly into the atmosphere landing on Dantooines surface at the designated location.

The Warrant he had with him was bearing the seal of the Chair of the Senate, and allowed him to fulfill the full mandate of the committee he had set out, which included an investigation into the Defenses of Dantooine as a whole, as well as the orbital defenses.

The Senator, not having dained to listen to Exars words earlier as he was having his forehead waxed gave a smile as he stepped off the shuttle, flanked by blount and a number of anonymous flunkies "My good friend Senator Ray! How brilliant it is to breath the air of Dantooine this day! I trust you are well?" he offered his hand to shake "Anyway, the Data I instructed be fed to my databases was not recieved earlier. I am sure you will rectify this in swift fashion, except Colonel Blount tells me we do not need your information pertaining to the Golan... Shall we procede?"

(( A quick reminder that the InterGalactic Mining Core facilities are off limits to your investigation, since the warrant allows you jurisdiction over Dantooine, and the IMC (being a separate Senate body) does not fall under Dantooine jurisdiction. That being said, receiving a similar warrant for the IMC would include said facilities; or similarly, one could petition the Dantooine government for the warrant on IMC facilities. This may, or may not, have any relevance to this RP. Thank you. ))

The Data on the Dantooine Military was fed to the NRI databases, listing their vehicles, troopers, locations, etc. The commander of the troopers smiled as he handed the data in another form to Kruus on a datapad, all of the team proving most cooperative, the leader speaking apologetically to Kruus "Sorry Chairman Kruus, I really dont have all of the data collected yet, I hope youl forgive me, but I shall have it all assembled at the rest dispatched within an hour" apologising very much considering the only piece of data not present was the locations of every Khoonda Milita weapon.

"Thankyou all for your warm welcome!" Kruus began to speak, as a small child walked up and hugged him, holding an apple up for him "Here Mister Kwus! I broughted you an apple" kruus smiled, embracing the child for a holo shot and handing the child a gold coin before returning to speak to the Soldiers "Thankyou again for your warm, warm welcome, I shall take up residence in your capital for the duration of the investigation, something I am sure your Senator and Ruler will be more than happy to provide his own residence for the purpose. I look forward to improving the quality of life for all of you on Dantooine and the galaxy generally, now, shall we get going to the first weapon?" he shook Rays hand warmly and put an arm around him for a holocam pic.

Before they left also, at the request of an ecstatic militia member the 8 troopers all posed for a group holo picture with Kruus in the center, the picture being taken by a droid.

A group of distant protesters in the background screaming obsenities to him, spitting, displaying signs. And rather then a Militiamember handing the info to Kruus, Exar did it himself. "Here is the requested information. It includes the current weaponry, spending, and number of weapons in our armory." Exar muttered as he stood there. He could hardly hear what Kruus had said, but Exar grinned more. "Oh yes Senator, we do have a spot for you and your people... it's called a visiting barracks... it's used by the New Republic Garrison... however I have had news that they are out on a field exercize... and will not return until after you depart." This time, Exar spun around.

"I suggest you hurry. In order to speed this up, I have speeders that will split your people up, that way everyone can get a piece of the supposed frauding going on. Senator, you will ride with me to view the ion cannon, and 3 of my Militia." The team, on a hand signal from Exar, would proceed into the speeders and await the Senator. Standing next to one, Exar would await Kruus to get ino so that they may go. "Colonel, if you will follow my Sergeant." A NCO emerged from a speeder that was already fired up. Stepping out, he saluted the Colonel. "We will get you to the Militia Command where we will get you up to speed on our weapons."

"Time's wasting... Senator..."

"Well," Blount said hesitantly to Ray, sensing a potential conflict in the plan. "Strictly speaking, NRI has been entirely content with the figures you've already submitted to us, and don't see the need for this investigation at all. That said, we're only here to accompany the Council on its investigation and encode the information that it compiles, not to investigate ourselves. If it's alright," he continued, "our technicians are required to stay with the Council members."

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience," he said sympathetically. "Believe me, I know what an inconvenience it is."

(( Brief OOC: Echuu and I have gone over every single word of both Kruus and Exar's latest posts, and we think we've finally resolved the disparities accordingly. Some of it might appear otherwise, but understand that literally each word has been considered, in some cases multiple meanings thereof, and there's an explanation behind all of them if either of you are so inclined to ask us, preferably in Messenger. Hopefully, we're good to proceed now. But if Havoc or Jamie do still have any reservations, do let us know. ))

Kruus looked over the information as he cimbed into the speeder "Mr Ray, I was wandering how you could explain why on this record you have over 400 vehicles and.... 400 men in your Militia? This doesnt seem efficient?", several of Kruus' men who had traveled as private citizens to onbserve the mission had integrated themselves into the cursing crowd, asking the other members about the circumstances in which they came to be there. The Senator sniffed at the barracks comment "I will be putting in my report Senator Ray that you refused my committee accomodation."

All over the planet at locations listed as Dantooine militia camps shuttles began to descend, landing close to the barracks, clearly painted red and with NR Diplomatic transponders to indentify them as they descended through the orbit "I am landing additional teams to speed up this process. So, looking over your data Senator Ray... who produced these planetary weapons and under what circumstances were they created?" the venerable senator spoke greasily and smugly as only Neimoidians could.

As the speeder proceeded towards a river, Exar nodded to Kruus. "I just happen to think very different in times like this. Let's leave it in your report that it pays to have extra in case we need to recruit more... which has been modest since we've upgraded." And he let out a hearty laugh and a nice slap on Kruus' back. "Oh Senator, you crack me up! Refused your committee accomodation. If you don't like the barracks, I'll give you some tents and a fire pit, and you can have a campout... I hear they are quite famous on other planets." Listening to his other concerns, he nodded. "Again, Senator. You may have a list of the training camps, and a warrant, but it doesn't mean that they HAVE to follow your orders. That's where the Sovereign Nation clause comes into effect." Smirking some.

"And to answer your question, New Republic contractors came out, did what I wanted to happen, and built the weapons. I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to see them... since you like jepordizing security on other planets... all simply because Neimoidia is in the Core." Exar said disgustingly. Behind them, the fleet of speeders followed.

'Senator, one could say having 100 more vehicles than soldiers when you have only 400 soldiers is a ridiculous waste of money, even if you enforced a draft you could barely run a force to need to many with your population...' he looked around 'Which corporation produced the Turbolasers? how long will it take to get to them.'

He looked at the Senator. "Do not tell me what needs to be done, Senator. I will not rely on your cute droids to do the patriotic acts that a human has within him." He refused to debate with Kruus further on the topic of his vehicles. He looked out towards a canyon and asked the row of drivers to stop. He then pointed out to Kruus. "Somewhere hidden within this canyon, lies our destination. The corporation that build them was indeed the New Republic, and we are already here, Senator." Ray removed himself from the vehicle and proceeded over towards a rock. Standing next to it, he motioned for Kruus to join him.

"As I have said Senator Ray, I believe life, above all things to be sacred."

Walked over to the rock "I demand then, in the name of the New Republic Economics Committee to see the inside of this 'turbolaser', in order to examine its construction."

He smirked. "And I demand, in the name of the Government of Dantooine, your shut your trap before I push you off the cliff." Exar said laughingly, not taking Kruus serious at all. With his cane, he gently tapped the rock, and before Kruus could react, a small platform would bring the two men down into the darkness that would spring around them. "Senator... this is the kind of place your mother warned you about... if you have one, that is." Ray would speak with a tempting voice, as the light above them was soon vanished, trapping the two Senators underground. As they stopped moving, lights would flicker on and off, then finally on. It illuminated a small walkway that the two would have to venture to see the Turbolaser in it's prime. "I suggest we start walking, Senator... it's a long walk." Spoke Ray, but he knew something that Kruus wouldn't.

As the two Senators would walk, the floor would begin to move, getting them to the destination quickly.
