I honestly don't know where to begin to refute the arguments in "justification" of your blockade, Senators. As far as I (or anyone else) can understand it, your blockade is a fallacy based on circuitous logic and a gross misrepresentation of the Acherin Resolution, all presented with some pretty words, some fighting words, and some of my words taken hopelessly out of context. Of course, the confiscation of weapons bound for a regime that might use them against us is laudable and something no one can disagree with, but the blockade must and will be investigated, and its legal justification must and no doubt will be questioned in court. As I said, I don't know where to begin, and so I won't bother now as Senator Carson has said; particularly when we are short of time.

The New Republic fleet will imminently arrive at Acherin, and as I have said before, upon its arrival it will instruct Brentaal, Neimoidia and the IMC to cease its blockade (since, by your own argument, there will be no further use for it), and that fleet operations at the planet will from that point on be conducted by the Republic itself, not its surrogates and not its members to which it cedes none of its rightful authority, despite what has been incredibly argued by certain Senators.

I reiterate the call for an investigation that other members have made, and I welcome the cooperation that Senators Kruus and Cambrist have repeatedly promised, and I expect them to follow through on it. The NRI's investigation into Acherin's government and its accusations against Senator Kruus (which will now be expanded to include an investigation of the blockade itself) has been temporarily delayed until the fleet arrives and makes certain the planet, its people and their effects, are secure. At that time, the NRI will resume its work and the Senate will be welcome and encouraged to investigate as well. Perhaps the Defense Council can look into the matter.
