Subject: Fleet Movements in the Pentastar Alignment
Classification: Secret (CTX-Directive), High Priority Sir, we're recieving reports from our contacts in the Pentastar Alignment of a number of uncharacteristic fleet movements within their space, which appear not to be standard patrols. Our listening post at Eriadu is also picking up a lot of chatter from high command, although we can't decipher it at this point. That said, it might be that the Alignment is putting together a battle group for some purpose, and I don't think I need to tell you what that purpose probably is. Fair to say, that certain Senators are making a mess of things at Acherin. With friends like these, who needs the Empire anyway, right?
We don't know exactly what the Alignment is up to, but I do think it would be adviseable to alert the 4th Battle Group and have it underway as soon as possible. The situation might escalate very quickly and uncomfortably. Fornow, NRI is prepared to continue its questioning of our Acherin representative, and take its investigation to the planet (and we can investigate the blockade while we're at it), but it might be wise to postpone it until we're certain it's not a warzone. Tends to make our job more difficult.
