Visitors to the planet Atzerri--and its capital, Talos--would pass through a gauntlet of gaudily lit stores known as Trader's Plaza, designed to hook new arrivals and separate them from their credits as soon as possible. With little regulation, the planet was a product of free market excess and utter corruption; the law did not exist in this place, and justice came from the barrel of a blaster. It was a place where almost anything, legal or illegal, could be had for a price.

In this case, the commodity was information. The price? As much as New Republic Intelligence was willing to pay.

At an intentionally inconspicuous, but unintentionally foul-smelling cantina on a side street just off the Plaza, Gregory Blount sat alone in a private booth that he'd reserved for the occasion, complete with sound dampening devices and electronic countermeasures. Safe to say, the management knew exactly the sort of business that went down in their humble establishment, and was pleased to accomodate the need for secrecy if it meant more patrons.

Blount was a gruff, weathered man with long hair and a beard already forming on his chin from the flight to Atzerri; he definitely didn't look the part of an NRI man, let alone its Chief of Staff, so he blended in well among the similarly disreputable clientele. For now, he simply waited for his contact, perspiring under the planet's humidity and drinking occasionally from a bottle of beer on the table before him.

Deep within the outter rim arrangements had been made for dealing with governments when and where necessary. the previous dealings with Novak were no more as he had abandoned everything that the darkside had stood for. this "self proclaimed " sith Lord wouldn't hold a candle to walking in his masters footsteps that he som proclaimed he wished to do. but none of that truly mattered there had been a call for a meeting with an informant with the NRI but she still took no chances. Tyra would keep her presence well hidden within the galaxy just has she had done years ago during the days of the empire. an evil grin played upon Tyra's face as she thought about what was about to go down. not only would this put a dent in Novak's plans, but also let her presence be known in the galaxy once more. Leaving her quarters and heading for her ship. there was only one thing on her mind. payback. slipping into the cockpit of the ship once it was boarded she set the course for the planet Atzerri.

Arrival at Atzerri

the arrival went smoothly with no suspicions from anyone. Traders Plaza was a place that she had seen lately but she had done business with some of the organizations that lay in wake here. the cantina where this contact was found was darker than most, but enough light to see what needed to be seen. her clothing was no different than anyone there accept for the patch on her shoulder of the old order which would only bee seen as the light hit it. she spotted a man sitting at the table and walked over to him. "Colonel Blount I presume?"

Blount had seen her enter the cantina--she was rather hard to miss--and had watched her at the door with something more than just professional curiosity. She wore an ensemble reminiscent of a uniform, which revealed her form and commanded his attention as he finished his beer and set the bottle down on the table. Well, he thought to himself, At least I don't have to worry about any concealed weapons. As she came closer, he noticed the logo. Didn't recognize it. He noticed the face. Didn't recognize it either, but it surprised him how young she appeared, despite her silver hair. Attractive, to be sure, but she also had a sort of darkness around her that made Blount wary. He had the instincts of a lawman, and knew when someone shouldn't be trusted.

Or at least, shouldn't be trusted any more than they had to be.

He nodded in answer to her question, and gestured for her to sit down opposite him. "We never did get your name," he said to her, "Although it's understandable if you would rather be anonymous."

Tyra took a seat just across from him at the table "Pleasure to meet you,you may call me Tyra" now I hear you are looking for information on a sith lord by he name of Jericho Novak are you not?" she asked as she knew that what they were looking for would be a breakthrough for many things within the galaxy namely the destruction of imposters and the bringing back of what should have been left alone in the first place. even though the place was dark, she could make out his form as much as what little light that was there would allow.Tyra would keep her ideas hidden but was open to give the information that was needed. she had a feeling that something was taking place and that it would be soon. from the holo news scrolls that came across the channel every once in a while even though she had been within hiding for the last few months, she knew well of what was going on. and placed particular interest in the government of Druckenwell System. she had been involved in that in the planning stages and now it was time....

"Any information you have would be helpful to us," he said, honestly. The Republic simply would not abide a "new Sith Order," even if it presented itself as legitimately as Novak supposedly did. It was thus, in a sense, ironic that the NRI would work with Tyra Vosana of all people; but on the other hand, if they were willing to work with the likes of Sate Pestage for the defeat of a greater evil and a common enemy, then perhaps it wasn't so unusual after all. Of course, it hadn't worked out well with Sate Pestage, but hopefully this relationship would be a more productive one.

The fact was that the Republic had, quietly, spent a significant amount of time and resources developing its contacts, amassing its forces, and making its plans with respect to Druckenwell, and Mr. Novak. These plans were already moving, happening now, but the NRI still needed all the information it could get on Novak, on how many ships he had, on how he came to power on Druckenwell, and what his plans really were. In all of these respects, Vosana could be useful to them. Blount told her the sort of information they were looking for, and asked whether or not she had documentation on a datacard.

Upon hearing Blount's words,Tyra smilled and pulled out the datacard that had the information within it. iit was encrypted so that only the person it was intended for. Tyra was not a fool and couldn't take the chance of it falling into enemy hands. this card held the history of the discovery of Novak as well as what his true pland were for the republic as well as his claims to be walking in the footsteps of his master who was supposedly the emperor. and his"frozen" state of being discovered. truth be told this card was something that had been developed several months ago as she knew it might come in handy. she knew the sith well and knew what palpatine was like. betrayal became the ways of the sith quite easily. anything for their own personal gain, even if it meant turning your back on everything that they had ever known within their past. "Colonel,I will be more than happy to give out any more information that you may need if need be. "I have a "way" of finding out things whenever the cause is right." little did she know that she would be giving information to a republic informant since she had fallen to the darkside so many years ago. but she knew what the true darkside was. Novak didn't seem to.

Blount reached into a satchel that rested on the seat beside him (slowly, so Tyra wouldn't suspect he was reaching for a weapon), and pulled from it a small, portable datapad. He slid the datacard into it and reviewed the information in silence for a few moments. It was as promised; both Vosana's testimony on Novak, his origins and his intentions, and also the details of her relations with Druckenwell's government, including the bribing of prominent officials, records of financial transactions, even when and how the Force had been used to influence the most stubborn among them. Perfect.

He copied the files to his datapad (which would be automatically sent to the Analysis Bureau), then ejected the datacard and placed it in his pocket as he listened to Tyra's offer. "You seem to be very generous with your information, and your services," he said, with some skepticism. "I assume all of this is for a price? Did you want credits? Immunity? NRI can..." he interrupted himself for a moment as a waitress came to the table to collect his beer bottle. He smiled, waited for her to leave, then continued more quietly. "NRI can only do so much, so we might want to talk compensation before we go on."

Tyra thought a moment on the mans question and couldn't help but smile." 5 Million plus the destruction of this so called with order that is forming. tyrany has happened once and millions of lives were lost because of it. I do not wish to see that happen again. government only plays a part in things to a point, but when you get to the heart of the situation."tyra leaned forward on the table before speaking again."now that is where it gets interesting. the establishing of a new kind of sith is just a small slice. he claims to be following in the shoes of palpatine. but he doesn't even come close. the republic themselves won't accept a "neutral territory" as Novak is planning. in a picture perfect world, there wouldn't have ever been a threat to the republic. but we don't live in a picture perfect world. if a neutral territory could ever be reached with a sith then it would be highly possible. but what sith seeks neutral territory?" Tyra knew this would bring about more things than meets the eye. but the training from her master proved very effective. especially in this case.

"There is nothing 'neutral' about the Sith," Blount agreed, nodding his head somberly. He was surprised, frankly, to hear Vosana's words, because she seemed much more reasonable than he'd expected. More reasonable, or at least, certainly more honest with her beliefs, and her intentions. Novak was a pragmatist; his means changed with his ends, but Vosana at least was grounded in principle, even if it was a principle that Blount disagreed with. She was his friend today and very likely his foe tomorrow, but at least she would be a certain enemy. Blount liked certainty, although the Force only knows he didn't see much of it in his line of work.

"I'm sure you know better than most," he continued, "that Sith don't want what they're allowed to have. They want everything, and they don't want to earn it, they want to take it at any cost." He seemed to realize that he was walking onto dangerous ground with this line of discussion, so he dropped it. "That's why we don't trust Novak, and thanks to you he's going away for a long while."

His datapad beeped on the table, affirmatively. Moments ago, he had sent Tyra's demand for 5 million credits back to Coruscant, and now the payment had been arranged. He slid the datapad across to Tyra, for her to type in the account number she wanted the funds deposited to. "Why do I have the feeling this money is going to be used against us, some day?" he asked, sardonically. Blount was a man who understood the realities (and the necessities) of his profession, but still didn't like them.

nodding her head in agreement, she let a smile play upon her lips "the Sith will always be a threat to anyone that is within reason. now the ones that have gone mad.. that is another story. some of them tend to run borderline insanity. not all,but some of them but yes, they will take it at any cost unfortunately that also means the cost of lives at times." seeing the datapad slide to her, she typed in an account number that she had had for a while that was locked from anyone else unless they needed to see it for security reasons. and handed it back to him, Tyra then chuckled at that statement. "what happens in the future is unknown to everyone the only thing we can control is what goes on today and let tomorrow take care of itself. in short. don't worry about it I have been trained to deal with many things depending on the circumstances. only worry about the things that are under your control now and things that you can do to change it." her words rang true on numerous occasions Tyra was not one to use money against people. now information? that was a whole different story.

A Sith who sounded reasonable? And found the loss of innocent lives "unfortunate"? Blount had his doubts of Tyra, but he didn't notice any deception in her voice, or the subtle sarcasm that comes with saying something, straight faced, which one believes to be absurd. No, she seemed to be telling the truth. Her words, in fact, seemed wise (although the admonishment to "only worry about the things that are under your control now," and what one can do to change those things, coming from the lips of a potential enemy had the effect of irritating him, somewhat).

His eyes drifted across her for a long moment. She was a strange one; intriguing. The thought occurred to him suddenly, that if the NRI decided to accept the offer of her services at some point, that he wouldn't mind working with her. 'With' or 'for'? Blount had to wonder. Of course, the New Republic was only a convenience for her right now; a means to take down Novak whom, aside from their apparent philosophical differences, was also an obvious rival of Vosana. So who was benefitting the most from this arrangement? Was the Republic gaining the valuable information it needed? Or was Vosana playing them all against each other?

The truth, as usual, was probably somewhere between. But Blount was reminded, already, of Tyra's words; worry about the things that are under your control now. Practical. "True enough," he said to her, as he turned off his datapad and put it back into his satchel. "Well, I suppose our business is finished here then, Tyra?"

Upon hearing his words,Tyra nodded the thought of working with someone again was Interesting to say the least. indeed the meeting was over and hopefully would have the results both of them were looking for. she knew he had his suspicions but that didn't bother her. everyone did it came with the job at times but her background proved useful in many circumstances. watching him place the datapad within his satchel Tyra looked to him with a slight grin. "I hope this information produces the results you are looking for. but yes, I suppose it is." Tyra reached for her holopad that had just recieved information and smiled at the results that it was giving. "soon my dear Novak, you will be the one who will be asking me not for apprenticeship but for salvation." was the thought that ran through her mind. She let her eyes meet with the colonel's once more. "if you need anything else let me know. I am always within reach if necessary." she would remain seated for a few moments as she waited for him to get up from the table first.
