Directly after the events of Mission to Endor

Realizing the seriousness of his predicament, Deven remained as polite and co-operative as possible. The transmission (monitored) was his primary concern as he needed to regain his freedom as quickly as possible. Seeing Novak's face, emotionless as it was, did not make him feel much better. Nonetheless, the transmission was short and to the point. Deven described the story that the mercenaries would back up (if questioned) for they had not known the truth of their trip to Endor. The story Deven told was simple: he had traveled to Endor with a legal escort for some sightseeing. The mercenary escort had been armed with BlasTech weaponry because it would mean a discount for Deven. When they had arrived at Endor, they had been attacked by savage Ewoks who apparently did not like sightseers or tourists. Regardless of the reason, attacks had been made and, in defending their own lives, Deven and his company had withdrawn amongst extreme casualties. To Deven's (selective) memory, many of his guards had been wounded. It was for this reason and, thinking that the New Republic would not respond in time that he had brought droids as a rescue option, not wishing to be too late. Mercenaries or not, Deven fancied himself a reasonable man. The charges of poaching could not be true, for Deven had kidnapped no Ewoks. Stun blasts were used to save lives and disable enemies. As such, it seemed highly fair that he had not tried to kill a protected species.

Novak's response was rather short in turn. He would do what he could to see that Deven was set free and brought to Druckenwell where, if need be, he could be held in protective custody.
