Ladies and Gentlemen,

I and several other esteemed Senators have just returned, having fought in the Battle of Deralia, having joined the sacred brotherhood of combat veterans fighting for their planet, and have been granted the Medal "Hero of Deralia" by my Government, I can tell you all it is a great thing, and I highly reccomend any of you see battle, or enlist a few of your grubs, it is a quite worthwhile experience.

Anyway, I digwess,

I would like to call for a cross-committee commission to be formed to investigate the potential of automated warships to be used in a limited capacity to patrol the shipping lanes for pirates. Having seen the extent of sucess from the Battleship Kruus of the Kruus-class at Deralia in engaging effectively organic targets and being incredibly sucessful against them. I would like to then form a committee to investigate Automated Weapon Systems and to fund the construction of prototypes for use in the NRDF or as anti-pirate interdiction independantly. I believe this is an under-developed area that, would free up NRDF men from duty searching for pirates and give us more manpower in the struggle against the Remnant.

I would like to request that his Committee be headed by the Economics Committee, with representatives of the Defense, Intelligence and Commerce Committees present to assess the viability and commercial value of any developed weapon system. This will be a project that will require extensive funding for construction of prototypes and so on, a budget of 1 Billion would probrably be adequate to fund the project (as much of the Technology has already been developed by Neimoidia) and construct prototypes and also to conduct tests.
