Lana watched Eli as he seemed to lose himself in thought. She wondered for a moment what he was thinking, though she was sure it was about something serious. She played with the stem of the glass idly until the waiter came back.

"It's not a problem, Eli. Take your time. I hope that everything is alright." She offered the words of encouragement, though they might not have meant much or done any good at that point. She pulled herself to her feet when he got up and watched him walk away before she sank back into the chair and turned her gaze out of the floor to ceiling window that was next to their table.

Tremaine would notice his old friend, Airstrike, walking by past him. He wasn't sure whether to stop and interrupt the former Chief of State. The man seems to be occupied at the moment. The Senator was about to move toward his wife when Airstrike stopped him briefly by placing the arm cordially on Tremaine's shoulders. Tremaine would let out a grin and nodded. "Same could be said for you, old friend." He would simply say before letting the former Chief of State go, and headed for his wife. Tremaine thought about confronting Ilanah openly about the tabloids recently published about Ilanah and Eli. But a last minute thought came up, the Senator decided to take a different approach. Tremaine would walk slowly toward the beautiful Ilanah, "Hey, Lana." He would said as he placed a short kiss on her lips, pulling out a second after. A waiter would immediately bring a seat to the table for Tremaine to sit down, as he was doing so. "I apologized for being away. The business in the Outer Rim has taken longer than usual."

The senator hadn't noticed Tremaine as she had her back towards the door of the room, and she was staring out at the bustling skylanes that sped by the building. She was caught by surprise when she heard a familiar voice say her name, followed by a familiar kiss. "Tremaine....I didn't expect you so soon. I mean....I did not know you were coming home." She was surprised. And a little shocked. Ilanah straightened herself in the chair and watched him as he sat down next to her.

"You could have let me know you were coming. I would have gotten Aris out of school for your homecoming." She murmured as she offered a soft smile. "I am sure he will be thrilled to see you." Lana thought that perhaps then they could just drop by the school after lunch.

She had personally been longing to see Caden, but had avoided doing so as to not interrupt his training. "And it is alright...." She replied to his apology. "We both have jobs that keep us busy...and apart."

"Well, sometimes I like to make unexpected visits as to surprise my family...and a friend, apparently." The Senator would speak in a soft tone, just in case someone was overhearing their conservation. However, he wouldn't really pay attention to such little detail. Tremaine raised his eyebrows, "Take Aris out of school? Well, I would think we would be able to if he doesn't keep getting in trouble for debating too much. Ah well, he has our traits." The Senator knew same couldn't be said with Caden. Caden has traits from Ilanah and her first husband. At least he and Ilanah was able to raise him right, not growing out to be like his birth father. His concern was one day Caden would find out who his birth father really was and becomes like him.

Tremaine wouldn't worry about that now. He simply paid attention to his wife. A waiter came along, "I think I want Bantha Burger with fries." Tremaine would be satisfied with that after all that fancy dinners he has to take while he was away on business. Something regular and greasy was in his mood at the moment.

"You can have mine," Eli said to Tremaine as he returned to the table. He appeared as though he had a lot on his mind, yes, but he was still as assured and as good humored as always. The election on Ralltiir was still hours away, and although the news he'd just recieved was not at all encouraging, he remained optimistic. It was all one could do. In any case, it wasn't going to ruin his day—although, it seemed, it would ruin his lunch. He glanced at the two of them with something of a sheepish smile on his face as he stood over the table. "I'm sorry to run out on you, but it seems I have to be going," he said to Lana, "My campaign manager thinks that a few last minute appearances on Ralltiir might help; I told him they see me there every weekend, and on the holonet every day, but I defer to his expertise. I hope the three of us can reschedule this soon."

He nodded his head to each Senator in turn, then excused himself. He also politely declined the use of either of their speeders—he would take the turbolift down to the bus terminal and ride the short distance back to the Senate Hall for one credit. It was cheaper than a speeder, more scenic, and he always enjoyed the conversation with people he wouldn't otherwise meet in his usual routine. Back at his office, he would review his correspondence (including an ominous and anonymous letter soliciting a meeting with him in the warehouse district—he gave this to his secretary to forward to Intelligence, then told her to take the afternoon off), and departed for the spaceport.

Senator of Ralltiir (10 BBY—Present)

Ilanah listened to Tremaine, a little apprehensive of the tone his voice held when he mentioned Eli. Just then, Eli returned to the table.

"Eli..." She started, but promptly stopped when he mentioned his campaign manager. "I hope everything goes well then. Call and let me know?" She knew that she would see news on the holo later of the results, but she preferred to hear his account of it.

Lana turned her gaze back to her husband after Eli departed and she stayed silent for a moment. "Well, I hope that everything goes alright for him." She said, her face bearing a small frown. "Anyway....Aris. Aris is actually doing very well in school for the moment, and I only meant that I would have brought him home for the day so you two could see each other.

She took a moment and pushed her worry for Eli aside and focused on Tremaine. He was home, and she was more than pleased about that fact. "I've missed you, do you know that? The holo messages and calls every day was not a good substitute." She did understand that he had a job to do, as she did also. "I am going to need to go to Chandrilla for a few days soon. It has been too long since I have been home..."

Before he was ready to speak to Ilanah, his old friend, Airstrike Fitzgerald had offered him to take his meal. The Senator simply nodded, "Thank you." He was not a man of many words, an unwelcomed trait in a Senator. However, his unquestionably patriotism and a strong believer in equal rights had made up for his lack of words. The Senator of Mowgle believes that many words aren't necessary, only that he has to say meaningful words. Tremaine would smile as she said she had missed him. "You didn't need to tell me that, I already know that. Still, I always appreciated you telling me that." His smile would slowly fade away as Ilanah had told him that she needed to go away to Chandrila for a few days. "I don't blame you. Even though this is a peacetime, there is still a lot of uneasiness among the Republic and the Remnant. I was invited to a "business" dinner at Eriadu by that seemingly Imperial guy, Senator Oswaldt." Tremaine cleared his throat before speaking, "However, when both of us gets back from our trips, I'd like us to take a vacation." He took out a couple of tickets and placed it on the table.

"Our vacation spot will be at Naboo. I heard it's nice there this time of the year. I thought that we needed a break and spend more time with each other."

"I don't need to go, Tremaine. I just want to go....and it can wait." She paused, stabbing her fork into a few dark, leafy greens that were in the salad bowl in front of her. The senator didn't say anything for a few moments as he filled her in about the supposed business dinner.

"Darling, why don't I come with you to Eriadu? Then we can go from there." She put her fork down and put the pads of her fingers onto the tickets and dragged them across the table to her. Ilanah was unsure if he would agree to that, but she did not see why not. It was a good idea, after all. Strength in numbers and all of that.

Her gaze trailed over the tickets for a moment before she looked up at him again. "You planned all of this yourself?" She questioned, already sure that she knew the answer.

Senator Fowlkes would stare at his wife for a few moment silently before speaking up. "You coming with me to Eriadu? That sounds like a good idea. Maybe we can help convince Senator Oswaldt to change his views. It's unlikely, but it couldn't hurt to try though. At the very least, we could get him to think up of better proposals more thoroughly." The Senator would let out a sigh, "Maybe we can use up some of our time before departing for Eriadu to see our children. It's probably for the best. Who knows the next time we would be available?"

Tremaine would simply nod at Ilanah, "Yes, I planned everything. After we conclude business on Eriadu, we come back here on Coruscant. When we have everything ready, we depart for Naboo."

She brightened considerably at the mention of their kids. "I have been wanting to see Caden." Ilanah murmured as she pushed the thoroughly picked over salad away from her slightly. There was something about her eldest son , and though she loved them both, he was extra special to her. Perhaps it was the circumstances when he was a child. She was unsure, and she didn't care.

"Aris too, of course." She added quickly as she glanced to him and smiled slightly.

The Senator kept grinning at his wife, "Yes, I'd love to see both of them. Although it might be more likely to see Aris than Caden due to his Jedi training at the Academy on Yavin Four." Even though Caden had a different birth father than Aris had, and that Caden wasn't Tremaine's cause, the Senator had treated him like he was his own and it should be that way. They have gotten quite close over the past years, although they haven't had the time to see each other lately. Mainly because Tremaine is a Senator and Caden is a Jedi. Both profession requires a lot of concentration and time consuming on the job. "No doubt Aris is going to be like us when he grows up. Maybe not as a Senator, but someone that help make changes in the galaxy."

Due to the bond Tremaine have had with Caden, that is probably the reason why he is only one of the few Senators that are willing to get along with the Jedi and even defend them to a length if necessary. The Senator would let out a light sigh, getting up slowly off the chair. Extending his hand for Ilanah to grab ahold of, "Let's get out of here and get ready for the trip to Eriadu." He would grab ahold of her hand, walking out of the restaurant and headed for his speeder. As which they headed for their place so they could get ready to have a dinner with an Imperial.
