Memorandum for: Director Cracken, Director of the NRI.
Subject: Volunteering for a mission.
Classification: Top-Secret, Top Priority

Director Cracken,

Sir, if I may. I would like to volunteer for a mission that's considered very, very dangerous by many of the agents within the New Republic Intelligence. I would like to infiltrate the Hutt Cartel for the purpose of weeding out an act of conspiracy. I have been studying the Senator from Dantooine, also known as Jamie the Hutt, for a while now. I do not mean to discriminate here, but he appears slimy, even for a Hutt. He's even starting to bring in proposals to legalize stuffs that's already legal in the Hutt Cartel. Perhaps it's nothing more than just a typical Senator trying to meet his quota. However, for the Republic, I think it's best we find things out before it could get too late. I have already thought about my undercover, what a better undercover than a trusted Mandalorian bodyguard? I believe this mission should be given a chance.

Memorandum for: Takeru Maatle
Operative, New Republic Intelligence
Subject: RE: Volunteering for a Mission
Classification: Secret (CTX-Directive), Medium Priority

Agent Maatle, thank you for your interest in this matter and also for volunteering for an assignment that is, no doubt, a most dangerous one. Infiltrating the Remnant is one thing; since the peace, they tend to use captured spies to haggle us into prisoner exchanges. Not so with the Hutts; they usually just execute our people, like they did with Crix. However, I can only agree with you that this assignment is an important one, and remind you to be careful in the field.

I'm not so sure that Jamulon Tiure's conduct is anything out of the ordinary for him. He is famously repugnant, even for a politician (a Hutt politician at that, if you'll forgive me my biases). But it would be useful to have an operative inside the Hutt Cartel, as you said; they're becoming increasingly more aggressive and we suspect them of some recent dealings with the Remnant. The Anjiliac clan appears to have wrestled control of the Cartel from the Besadiis, placing a Hutt named Njon Anjiliac in command. It would be very useful to infiltrate his entourage and find out what you can about his operations and, possibly, his connections with Jamulon Tiure and, in turn, Tiure's connections with the Cartel.

Procurement will get you the vessel, equipment, and documents that you need. NRI's Hutt Task Force on Nar Shaddaa will be your point of contact and reference on this assignment. Make sure you stay in communication with them. But before you go, perhaps you'd like a week's leave on Mandalore? I think your family and friends deserve to know the dangers associated with this assignment. Good luck, agent Maatle.

Director,

Thank you for allowing me to go on a such dangerous mission. I also would like to thank you for lending me a week's leave on Mandalore. It's very rare for me to get a day off, let alone a week. I won't let you down, Sir.

Takeru Maatle,
NRI Operative
