Subject: Report on Senator Jamulon Tiure
Classification: Secret (CTX-Directive), Medium Priority NRI has some information regarding Senator Tiure of Dantooine, Sir, that we think may require your attention (our investigation of the Senator's financial improprieties is still ongoing—rather delayed, because of a lack of apparent interest or leadership from the Corruption Panel—but these latest developments are, I should disclaim, unrelated to that investigation).
First, it has come to NRI's attention that a Jedi Knight by the alias of "Havoc" may attempt to assassinate or otherwise unseat the Senator. He tried unsuccessfully to solicit a Senator (Eli Fitzgerald of Ralltiir, who was not informed of the details) and one of our agents for this purpose. According to the Jedi Academy's records, this "Havoc" was placed on disciplinary leave some years ago and has since been listed as unaccounted for; we've identified the man's starfighter and forwarded this information to Master Skywalker, who has pledged his cooperation in stopping him. Nonetheless, perhaps you can raise this matter with the Senator and recommend to him greater security while this Jedi is on the loose.
Second, we have analyzed the possibility of Senator Tiure's involvement in the recent Twin Worlds dispute. NRI became interested in this matter after the freighter which was intercepted by Corellian forces and then exploded, thus precipitating the events, was determined to have originated from Dantooine. It is also believed that the freighter—bound for Tralus—was carrying a large amount of munitions aboard, consistent with the magnitude of the explosion (which, despite what Corellian officials have said, might equally have been an accidental explosion rather than a bombing; we do not and likely will not have enough information to determine that point conclusively).
We have also recieved late information that two squadrons of starfighters arrived at Tralus in recent hours and attacked Corellian naval forces there, before being repelled by starfighters from the MC30c Frigate Deliverance. The hostile fighters in question are identical models to those in use by Dantooine's "Khoonda Militia," and they were also detected fleeing Tralus in the direction of Dantooine. However, the New Republic garrison on Dantooine has reported that all of the militia's starfighters are accounted for, and that none have departed or arrived in several weeks.
The Analysis Bureau concludes that Senator Tiure is not conclusively involved in the Twin Worlds affair, and almost certainly not involved in the very recent attack on Corellian forces there (the jump to lightspeed being directed for Dantooine, but not arriving there, seems to deliberately implicate or "frame" Tiure's Khoonda Administration, as well as the use of fighters of models identical to Tiure's). The question of who would deliberately implicate Tiure is a perplexing one; it is doubtful that this Jedi Knight "Havoc" is responsible, as clearly this event must have been orchestrated by an individual of considerable wealth and resources.
NRI will continue to investigate this matter although, with none of the hostile fighters captured, it is unlikely that we will find additional information unless or until a similar event occurs. I will also have a full report on the Twin Worlds dispute as soon as possible (our data is currently being vetted by the Analysis Bureau).
