Gentlemen,

On Dantooine there has been a plague amongst the populace that is causing some strife in the capital city, while the spread of the disease appears to be contained and food is not in short supply, any medical aid New Republic members can contribute would be eagerly accepted.

Medical Doctors, Medical Droids and medecine are the main shortages we are experiencing. I also ask the Chief of State to release the medical staff from the New Republic garrison to be dispatched, and the soldiers themselves help distribute food.

Many thanks for any aid.

By all accounts, this is a serious matter that is striking your city and planet, Senator. Druckenwell will send aid as quickly as possible.

The Neimoidian Freighter "Nessem Star" was in the region, it is underway to Dantooine and should be there within hours, it carries a good quantity of bacta, a doctor and a pair of medical droids, I hope this assistance is useful.

I apologize for addressing the chamber via hologram, as I am indisposed this afternoon.

However, the Commerce Council urgently suggests that all relief vessels traveling to and from Dantooine be coordinated through the New Republic which, according to my discussions with the Chief of State this morning, is dispatching a cruiser to the planet. We also strongly urge that all nonessential travel to and from the Riaoballo Sector be grounded for the duration of these events. If this "sickness" on Dantooine is as contagious as it appears, it must not be allowed to spread.

The Commerce Council will use its resources and instruct the Bureau of Ships and Services to advertise these warnings. I ask that the Senators in this chamber do so with their own customs agencies as well, and that the Chief of State authorize the turning away of vessels with force if necessary.

On an unrelated note, if I may ask Senator Tiure a question. I recently visited Dantooine and certain members of my delegation (which shall remain unnamed, for their privacy) asked me to inquire whether this sickness could potentially be the result of eating certain delicacies, such as Calamari, Calibop, and so on, recently legalized there? Your timely answer to this would be appreciated, as they are rather concerned.

It is almost certainly nothing to do with the eating of food, so far as I am aware it is spread by skin-skin contact, and high temperatures destroy it. Allow me to demonstrate my confidence.

*Jamie the Hutt appeared before the senate, with a bowl of Khoonda fried Calibop, some fried Mon-Calamari and a flambeed Twilek head tail, he picked up a calibop arm and ate it*

Delicious.

*Next the fried calamari pieces*

Delectable.

*Next he sloppily ate the head tail, juice squirting out of his mouth as he did so*

Perfect!

Dantooine food is perfectly safe, as you can all see. This disease is contact based and restricted to the capital itself, and even so only a few hundred cases have been reported.

Even as a hologram, Cambrist was visibly relieved.

"Thank you for that assurance, Senator. Incidentally, thank you for your hospitality during our stay on Dantooine. It was a very pleasurable, fulfilling visit that I would recommend to anyone, however, sadly not during this outbreak."

Ja'nar Cerra the senator and queen from Garos IV sat on the side lines, did not say a word as she glances to her guard and best friend Anthony for a moment, just shaking her head.

Im sure it was fullfilling, and I would like to assure all others out there, all who would like to have a delicious and fulfilling experience will be more than welcome to on Dantooine at a very reasonable price once this disease outbreak is sorted out.

And now, I quote the Dantooine tourist board.

Did you know?

Dantooine has over 540 square miles of land per sentient?

The old Rebel Base on Dantooine now houses over 2 spice cafes, and three bbq pits, as well as over one bar!

Dantooine is the only known home of the Carnivorous snail?

The Dantari are a species of troglodytes who live on Dantooine?

Dantooine was considered too remote to be an effective target for the death star?

Dantooine has a history of quirky Senators, former Senator of Dantooine Exar Ray ordered a turbolaser put in a giant fake rock. (now a popular tourist attraction)

So visit Dantooine! Perhaps give it a week or two though.

Senator Tiure should be commended for demonstrating, contrary to common opinion, that Dantooine does have many endearing qualities. However, it is unfortunate that a plague of this sort should befall any world, and naturally Naboo offers the expertise of its physicians if need be.

I'd say personally, Senator Tiure, that it might show more support for your people by assisting them more directly than sitting here and quoting the Dantooine Tourist Board to us. At the risk of sounding overly harsh, items in your past have spoken of you, perhaps unfairly, perhaps correctly, I cannot be certain, as a crime lord. Whether or not you are or have been, it is not unfair to say you likely have great wealth amassed. Perhaps it would be better spent helping ease the pain of your citizens, rather than relying on the goodwill of all of your neighbors. I believe in helping those who help themselves. Pimping your planet to the Senate hardly seems like a good way to help them.

Ambassador, I would caution you for using such words in the chamber. Dantooine is simply requesting aid. It is not fair to demand a Senator digs into his own pocket to fund a relief effort for a world he is the representative of. However, I have been given assurances by Senator Tiure that he is donating a portion of his family fortune to the project, which is a noble act in itself.

Regardless, the Flagship Home One has been dispatched to Dantooine, and will not only distribute medical supplies, but also humanitarian aid and help the Dantooine Government and Patriot Defense Force keep order. I would like to congratulate the Dantooine government on their quick work and also the New Republic Defense Force for its tireless humanitarian work.

Chief of State Gavrisom, I apologize if I have caused offense to you or any other Senator. I simply speak my mind on what I see, which is, after all, part of what the New Republic has been built upon. As Baltimn is not an Imperial, forgive me, a Remnant world, I am simply exercising that right. I am quite sure that you are correct, Chief of State, that Senator Tiure is donating from his family fortune. I am also sure I won't look too closely at allegations by the Senator of Druckenwell about convoy raids and stolen goods. After all, Senator Tiure is an impeccable being of great character whom I would trust with my own fortunes any day of the week.

As an aside, I too applaud the quick speed of the brave NRDF in the face of this outbreak. Perhaps it was simple bad luck from the food, or perhaps as simple as someone sick traveling when they should not have. Either way, I tip my hat to certain elements of the Dantooine government and the NRDF.

Mowgle would like to send a shuttle full of doctors and medical aids as well. I hope that by all of us contributing, we would be able to find a way to stop the plague.
