| Let me begin by saying I am a reasonable man. In the past, I have made mistakes in being too trusting. The events of the Sith, Darth Novak, and the problems he caused my homeworld, have not easily left my mind, nor are they likely to until my dying day. As such, and, I pride myself on remaining calm when I ask this, but, Senator Tiure, why precisely have ships bearing the colors of the Dantooine Patriot Defense Forces attacked the cargo ships I sent to aid Dantooine and pillaged them? I could be wrong, of course, but the visuals we have recorded from exterior cameras and sensors show them not only bearing your colors, but matching the description of the fighters you field. I can understand a framing attempt, such as that at the Twin Worlds, but here too, in the Vinsoth System? I'd like an answer, Senator. I assure you that no further aid will be sent until the New Republic promises protection or an investigation is launched.

| Of course an investigation will be mounted, the NRI will be instructed to investigate right away. However, I have assurances from the NRI and NRDF at Dantooine that every ship in the Dantooine Patriot Defense Force (including fighters) is present and correct.

| If you say so, Chief of State, I will do my best to believe. Nonetheless, I doubt, not from racism or specism, but I doubt the honesty and integrity of any Hutt. True yes, there has been one in the past history of these halls that was, dare I say, more honest than most, but by the statistics, I would say there is subterfuge going on here. I mean no insult to Senator Tiure, but something must be done. The safety of convoys are at stake. If Druckenwell has been hit, then who is next?

| I protest at this ludicrous accusation! The Dantooine Patriot Defense Force is sitting at anchor above our Capital currently, and has been for several weeks. Every ship can be accounted for for this period from the sensor records of not only the NR Garrison base, but also in the past day, the New Republic ship Home One. Clearly an attempt to frame me is being made, and I have no idea why. Yes, in my younger days I did lead a boisterous life and perhaps made decisions that were imprudent relating to the ingestion of spice etc.. but I have no idea why someone would go to these disgusting lengths to attempt to impugn my honor! I too call for the NRI to investigate and try and find a motive for these crimes. As a future precaution though, and one I believe the commerce council would point out, convoys of unarmed ships should never travel alone, especially in the outer rim. And I am frankly astonished the Druckenwell Government did not see to their defense? Added (16 Nov 2009, 4:50 Pm) --------------------------------------------- I call upon the Chief of State to call Senator Ryuun to order! " I doubt the honesty and integrity of any Hutt" is a blatent racist statement on his behalf.

| To Senator Tiure's mention of lack of defense: Druckenwell has not had a standing navy since the incident regarding Darth Novak. The money spent on repairs of the city, shipyards and our reputation was money we were unable to put forth to a defensive force. Surely even you can see that few people wish to buy from a shipyard that was under Sith control at one time. Your mention of boisterous life and imprudent decisions is an understatement, Senator. You were, at one point, a crime lord. You may have changed your ways at some point, but even I could see it being well within the scope of Hutt deviousness to assault an unescorted convoy with duplicate ships. Of course nobody is going to directly accuse you because of the fact that your ships are safe and docked! As for the honesty and integrity of any Hutt? Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Jiliac Desilijic Tiron. Durga Besadii Tai. I could go on and name more crime lords, Senator, but I believe even three names suffice to categorize what most people already know: outside a few rare examples, the Hutts are not trustworthy and are some of the most greedy beings in the galaxy.

| Even if you do not have a standing fleet it is traditional to employ mercenaries to protect convoys, I believe the smugglers alliance also offers similar services. I resent the accusation! I have never been a "crime lord"! Also the Hutts are not pirates, and I am sure the Hutt Families will file an official protest at this suggestion. And frankly, if I were to raid your ships, I wouldve done so with unmarked vessels, why would I paint ships with Dantooine colors? It would be a ridiculous move that would be sure to get me caught. And as the Chief says, this points to a setup. As for your insults to my race, "Hutts are not trustworthy and are some of the most greedy beings in the galaxy" is a racist statement... How dare you, on the Senate floor espouse such gross and speciesist sentiments... I am going to pursue a motion of censure and a legal action against yourself for this.

| I beg the interruption between you two gentlemen, but I must at least speak up. You, Senator Ryuun, have been duped before by a Sith. It is no easy task to withstand such, but it was done nonetheless. Senator Tiure will never know that feeling as 'mind tricks' don't work against the esteemed Hutts. You, Senator Tiure, are quite likely a crime lord. If you were not in the past and are not now, then I would attest such to the fact that you were sneakier than most of your comrades and family or you simply did not have a large basis of crime with which you dealt. Either way, it is irrelevant. What is correct that the Hutt families themselves are not pirates (likely given to their dislike of mobility), they have employed and used pirates to their ends in the past. The Hutts pull many strings, Senator, and to say otherwise is simply insulting them. I speak widely of Hutts when I say this, but they are immoral and corrupt beings that rarely show remorse for their bad habits and actions. Nonetheless, this is a free galaxy and it is their right to do such things as they see fit, providing it is within the boundaries of the law. If you did not, in fact, assault Druckenwell's convoy, then you have nothing to fear. I, for one, will be assisting Druckenwell by sending an agent to Dantooine to further this investigation.

| Ambassador Stomwell, I may seem rude in this, but can you refrain from entering this particular debate? I did not notice Baltimn sending any aid to Dantooine, after all. Senator Tiure, mercenaries and smugglers are the problem these days! If somehow you are in fact, innocent, then perhaps the smugglers or mercenary guilds have a leak! It comes back to every planet needing their own defensive militia so to be able to work without any outside defensive or offensive parties. I am sure that the Hutt families will file a protest and I'm sure it will be quite a big scene. Let us face it though, Senator, the Hutts do not have a good reputation. It may well be unfortunate, but it is the truth; a truth that nobody here will likely counter. You are welcome to file for action against me. My defense is that I have spoken the truth. I have in no way stated that all Hutts are corrupt, just the majority of them.

| Smugglers and Mercenaries the problem? They are the foundation the Rebel Alliance was build upon! Even now the smugglers alliance is a close friend of the New Republic.

| This is true, that the Smuggler's Alliance and mercenaries were the foundation upon which the Rebel Alliance was built upon. Look at what you are saying, Senator. The Rebel Alliance. This is the New Republic now, and it's quite possible that there are bad apples in the bunch. Never forget your roots, but people tend to change. With all the new policies, there isn't too much need and demand for smugglers and mercenaries any longer.

| Mr Lomen Ryuun and Mr Stomwell are called to order in the strongest possible terms. It is not acceptable to make racist comments such as these, I dont care if you can name a number of corrupt members of a species, you cannot accuse the whole species of such. I can name a number of evil humans, Palpatine, Tarkin, Page... this does not mean all humans are evil or genocidal. Resorting to ad-hominem racist arguments is not acceptable in this Senate, there will be order and debate must be constructive. Also, Mr Stomwell, we thank you for your offer of help with this investigation, but neither are the investigators from Druckenwell or Baltimn required, this is a matter for our own investigators in the NRI and those from Dantooine as this was committed in Dantooine space or deep space rather than either of your worlds. I do however, thank you for this aid. Allow me to re-assure you the best minds in the NRI are investigating this matter. I would also take this time to remind people, Dantooine is currently under quarantine, as such flights scheduled for Dantooine will not take place, and private trips will be intercepted and turned back.

| With all due respect, Senator Ryuun, the Commerce Council is quite unsympathetic to you on this matter. I do not demean the threat of piracy, which is serious and especially of late, but your crews seemingly violated many common sense protocols that could have prevented or, at least, mitigated this incident. First of all, it is a tired old strategy of pirates to impersonate customs ships; it was careless of your pilots not to demand and verify the identities of these starfighters before complying with their demands. It was also careless to be arrayed in a convoy (without escort, which is the purpose of a convoy formation) in an empty area of space well removed from their destination without informing Dantooine or the New Republic, either of which would likely have provided your freighters with escorts if you had requested them. These are all reminders that the Commerce Council issues on a regular basis, and which the Bureau of Ships and Services prints in its manuals. I do hope that Druckenwell will consider prosecuting the pilots of these ships for negligence. Please tell me, at least, that the extremely valuable cargo was marked with transponders, smartwater, or some other system of identification? These, also, are standard reminders issued to shipping companies, pilots and customs agencies to deter piracy. Also, while I (of all people) do not defend the reputation of certain Hutts, I would point out to Senator Ryuun that there are over 3 billion Hutts on their homeworld of Nal Hutta. To say that "a majority of them" (that is, 1,505,000,000 of them, including children) are corrupt is a rather incredible statement. A Hutt can be called corrupt, a Hutt can be called bloated, a Hutt can be called a criminal, but to refer to many Hutts as such is, frankly, a careless stereotype.

| Chief of State Gavrisom, Senator Cambrist, you are right. I forget myself because of the anger this incident has caused me. I am, after all, only human. I will do my best to ensure such an outburst does not happen again. I will wait until the NRI has further findings. Senator Cambrist, you are correct indeed that our containers were marked as standard procedure, the pirates have likely disabled such transponders as there were, leaving me in doubt as to whether or not we will ever recover the goods. It pains me to know they will not go to aid Dantooine's ill.

| Chief of State Gavrisom, I do not intend to send a full investigation team to Dantooine. Instead, I wish to send a former Jedi, Drasek Cale. If anyone can get to the bottom of this, he is the man I would recommend. He isn't tied down like the rest of the Jedi, and he gets results. I have met with him on certain matters in the past, and his judgment is one I trust completely.

| Mr Stomwell, Dantooine is under quarantine. There will not be any "investigating individuals" from non-member worlds. We have members of the Jedi Order who are more than capable of lending us aid if the NRI indicates such aid is required. Once the plague is lifted, and if your Mr Cale applies for the appropriate visas he may be allowed to visit Dantooine (at their Government's discretion).
