The following message came in without a clear sender. It would be obvious that extreme care had gone into disguising the voice and image to make sure the sender could hardly be identified. The image itself was little more than a gaseous, swirling shape that could loosely be called a man. The voice was an oddly pleasant baritone that, if vocal patterns were traced, would not match the original speaker. Labeled with a 'Priority: Urgent,' it would be for Chief of State Gavrisom.

"Chief of State Gavrisom, I bid you good day. I understand you are a sentient whose time is valuable, so let me keep the pleasantries to a minimum for the maximum amount of efficiency. For a long time now, we have watched the Senate and its member worlds, and we grow weary and tired of the bickering. If I may, I point to Senator Carson's speech as a wonderful example of how the Senate has fallen into muck and filth and at least one being has the mind to speak out on it.

"Unfortunately, not all who feel this way can so easily speak or give outcry. We of the Republic Reform Group are their voice instead. The plagues that grip Dantooine and, shortly, Naboo, are examples of how we must gain your attention in the Senate. It is unfortunate, but necessary. The corruption in the Senate threatens the peace that your treaty, ill-advised as it was, has wrought. To this end, we seek to drain a portion of the corruption and see that it is put to good use.

"The Senate will therefore remand three billion credits to our custody, to be dropped in the Dune Sea at the coordinates included at the end of this message, or the viral attacks will continue. Any attempt to track the case in which the package is dropped, and the attacks will continue. Any attempt to track, hinder or capture the parties sent to retrieve the package and the attacks will continue. Make no mistake, Chief of State Gavrisom, we are very serious beings. We do not enjoy needless pain and suffering, but sometimes, one must act outside the normal scope of things. The corruption in the Senate will be excised.

"Best regards."

Sir,

Unfortunately, while I do not respond well to blackmail, I have been informed I have no choice but to accept your demands.

I am going to attempt to raise the funds in order that no more citizens die. You sir are a mad man and a psychopath, and after this is over I hope to see you rotting in a jail for your crimes against sentients. Think of the suffering you have caused.

It will take some time to assemble those funds, at what date are they required? And in what form? Ditigal credit or metals?

The return message was sent with the same format and anonymity as the first.

"Many would call you mad for drawing a treaty with the Imperial Remnant. Your reasons for doing what you did were your own, and you gained a peace between two warring factions. We do not expect you to understand our reasons. This is not a debate on the corrupt Senate floor. When all this is over, Chief of State Gavrisom, you may well be known as the Chief of State who saved the Senate from corruption... and I and my associates will still be living out our meager lives in safety and security, sleeping well alongside the rest of the galaxy.

"You have two days to assemble the funds, Chief of State. Two days from the receipt of this message. This will likely mean you will have to ask certain Senators to dip into their pocketbooks for the amounts of the sum. It would please us to see Senators Cambrist, Kruus, Tiure, Ryuun and Forte place some credits into the proverbial plot.

"A mix of metals and digital credits will suffice. Half and half of each, as the case may be. Two days, Chief of State. Two days and, were I you, I would hurry to contain the spread on Naboo.

"Best regards."

"You now have a little over one day, Chief of State Gavrisom. Do not delay in your actions. Every day over the time limit is another planet. I am sure your resourcefulness and affinity for words will gain you what you need.

"Best regards."
