But everyone pays tax Mr Fitzgerald, whether they own land or not.

As such all my sharecroppers will have an appropriate share.

What a stretch...a Hutt taking a bribe in order to do what is right? Senator Tiure, would also paint me gold once I bribed you into thinking of what is best for your people and planet with a mere kiss? Or is that a special right that you reserve only for yourself?

Ilanah R. Thanatos
Senator of Chandrila

President Gavrisom, I feel that Senator Tiure's comments are not only inappropriate, but also a threat. I ask that you call him to order or perhaps remove him from the Senate Chamber entirely.

You are both called to order, Senator Tiure more strongly so, I must insist that there is order.

I humbly apologize for my out of line comment towards Senator Tiure, President Gavrisom.

I will not, however, apologize for my feelings on your proposal. I am interested to see if you will reach a compromise with Senator Fitzgerald that will act in the best interests of everyone involved.

I agree completely with the sentiments of Senator Thanatos on this measure. This bill has many good qualities, and also the questionable ones that the Senator from Chandrila has mentioned, and which Senator Fitzgerald himself has conceded. I vote in favor of this measure, and also in favor with the Chief of State's measure, because I wish to see both of them pass so that the positive attributes of both bills will be reconciled into one. President Gavrisom is renowned as a fair mediator, and I'm sure he will be quite willing to compromise to reconcile these two measures. That is, if Senator Fitzgerald is as well.

I believe this bill is a move in the right direction, and believe this allows more for our member worlds than the Chief of State's bill. Therefore, I will vote in favor of this legislation.

This motion also passes. A commission of Arbitration is to be formed in order to determine what is written into the final legislation. The Commission will comprise Senator Kruus (representing myself), Senator Fitzgerald (or his appointed representative) and Senator Forte. The final legislation will be decided by a 2/3rds majority.

Ponc Gavrisom
Chief of State
