From: Tremaine Fowlkes, Senator of Mowgle

Subject: Jedi Enclave on Dantooine
Security: Classified

Greetings,

I am Tremaine Fowlkes, Senator of Mowgle. It's honor to finally meet you, Master Skywalker. I only wish that the circumstances were different behind the reason of someone other than the Chief of State within the Senate contacting you. I am not sure if you are aware, probably unlikely, but there was a proposal made in the Senate concerning the ancient Jedi Enclave on Dantooine. Senator Kruus of Neimoidia had proposed that a visitor center be established there in order to turn it into apparently a museum. I am the only one that stood up for your Academy so far. I had been trying to get the Senate to allow you to have a say in the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine because I believe that while it is on a Republic world, it should be property of the Jedi Academy. There are many that don't want to involve the Jedi and decide for themselves. Please let me know where your Academy stands on this, and I may even attempt to go as far as making your voice heard in the Senate happen. Thank you for taking your time and read the message I left for you.

Tremaine Fowlkes,
Senator of Mowgle

Dear Senator Fowlkes,

We are truly grateful for your concern, and for your voice in the Senate in support of the Jedi Academy. At a time when many politicians seem to have feelings of animosity for us, it is reassuring to know that there is at least one Senator who remembers that our values, and the values of the New Republic, are consonant.

The Academy was indeed made aware of the proposal with regard to the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine, and we have no strong objection to it. The ruins of the Enclave have been studied and most of the artifacts have been relocated to the archives on Yavin IV, and so if the Republic is interested in making the site into a monument, it might be an opportunity for the public to learn more about the Jedi, and our ways.

We appreciate your advocacy, however, especially on proposals such as the recent one to ban lightsabers. I am more comfortable knowing that there are men of your sort in the Senate, and I hope we can count on you in the future for your support. May the Force be with you.

Regards,

Luke Skywalker
Jedi Master
