Ilanah Thanatos looked thrilled. Not only did she look thrilled, she was thrilled. She was packing and had already been on the phone with first Aris' school, then the academy where Caden was at. She actually got to see Aris a few times a week because he was so close there on Coruscant, but Caden was a different story.

Obviously her first born had a special place in her heart, but considering how she missed the first few years of his life because of his father, she had spent the years that she did have with him trying to make up for that absence. Luckily, he did not remember enough, nor was it her fault. The teenager, just recently turned 14, seemed to be turning out so well....and very much unlike his father, which was a relief to the senator.

She was packing things for Tremaine as well when Aris would come in. He was just barely 9 years old, and a spitfire just like she had been once, and could be at certain times. He went straight for his mother and gave her a hug and she responded with the same as well as a kiss on the forehead. "Do you want to come with your father and I to see Caden? We are going for a few days then he and I have to go on to Eriadu for work." She smiled at her youngest son and he nodded in response.

"Alright then, go pack a few things." She watched him walk away towards his room, and she turned her attention back to the garment bag at hand. It was stuffed with dresses and suits, and she took a moment to zip it closed, followed by the suitcases.

Tremaine was wrapping up some Senatorial work quickly in the living room, It was something he just had to get done before his personal trip to Yavin Four to see Caden and then the business trip to Eriadu to have a dinner with Senator Oswaldt. He had it done a while ago and had an assistant stopping by to pick up his work and taking it back to his office at the Senate Rotunda. This assistant was only temporary, and assigned by Mowgle government. She was alright, not someone he'd want to keep around but for now he would keep her around until he finds a better assistant himself.

Anyway, when he was done giving the paperwork to his assistant, he went back to the table that was next to the couch and grabbed the holonet news on his holopad that he had saved about Ilanah's alleged affair. The Senator would walk out of the living room, and headed for their bedroom where Ilanah was packing for both of them. He didn't think it was necessary, but his wife had insisted. Tremaine was never good at packing. Usually, he just picks out what he needed for upcoming trips and just throws it into his bags. That's how busy he was with his nonprofit business in the Outer Rim. He never had time to properly pack stuffs. Now that he has, he doesn't really pack well. Thus why Ilanah insisted that she pack stuffs for him.

Tremaine had decided not to just barge into the bedroom and demand answers from Ilanah. He knew that would ruin the mood for the relationship if the tabloids were false. Instead, he decided to take a gentle and soft approach. The Senator gave out a soft smile and kissed Ilanah on the cheeks while she was packing for him, "Hey, Lana." His tone was soft, and nonthreatening. A small sigh would be heard from the Senator, "It's probably crazy, but I just had to check with you." He would then press a button and the holopad would play the news of the alleged affair between his wife and his good friend, Airstrike Fitzgerald.

"I'm pretty sure this didn't happen, seeing how this came from the tabloids. However, this is probably a way of giving hints that our marriage might needs a little working on. I just want to know if there's something about our marriage that you'd want to talk to me about."

Lana glanced at him for a moment when he walked in the room. "Did you see Aris? He's packing. I thought that assistant of yours could come along just to make sure he gets back to school safely when we continue on to Eriadu, unless Caden brings him back....which would be ideal." She managed to say after he kissed her and before she heard the sigh from him. Her expression dropped when he did sigh. Something was bothering him and she didn't like it.

The senator took the holopad from him when he pushed the play button. She watched the entire thing and then sighed herself. "This is recent." Lana commented as she pressed the button to turn the device off. "You know...it's true, Tremaine." But that was not an admission to an affair, nor was she finished.

She dropped the holopad on the bed and then sat down, smoothing her dress as she did. "You were gone a long time, and yes, Eli and I spent time together. But it was nothing more than dinners and lunches as friends. You know me better than that. I made some stupid choices when I was young, Kal being the worst of them, but you know me now. And you know that this would never happen."

Lana paused for a moment. "You don't have to believe me if you don't want to, but I've never lied to you." She finished with that and rose back to her feet and turned her attention back to the packing. Stupid paparazzi. She knew that she should have been used to things like that....and it could have been much worse.

Tremaine nodded at Ilanah as she told Tremaine what was going on. The Senator would let out a soft tone, "That's all I asked. I have always and always will trust you. All I needed to do was to ask about this. I could have barged in and acted like a jerk by lashing out at you, but I didn't because I trust you. This also proves that we need to spend little more time with each other. I can see if I can do more of my business here on Coruscant, or that you travel with me more often. Which was why I've allowed you to take a trip with me to Eriadu, even though I think it's dangerous for you. Because I want to spend more time with you, there's always a room for improvement in our marriage."

It wasn't just that, he also trusts Airstrike not to do the stupid thing. At least not when he was up for reelection. Tremaine would grab the holopad from the bed and threw it into a can, "I can always get a new one." This was a way of Tremaine telling Ilanah that he's already forgetten about the alleged affair thing. "Are we done packing? It should be fun to see the Jedi Academy for the first time. I wonder what Caden's quarters look like."

"I think that I have had more dangerous in my life than going to somewhere like Eriadu. Don't you think?" She was referring to her former husband again, and Caden's father. Lana put her annoyance at the tabloids aside for a moment and offered him a small smile. "You worry about me a lot. And I appreciate that, I really do, but I am sure that I will be fine." She was confident about it, though she was a little nervous because of his worry.

"Yes, I'm done packing." she finally said as she zipped the last bag. "I just want to see my son..." Lana murmured. She knew that he needed to be there to do his training. At the Academy, they could teach him how to use the power that he had, and not use it for the wrong reasons. That was her biggest fear, and she didn't know if Tremaine knew that fear or not.

"I'm ready. Do you have the transport and everything arranged?" Lana asked as she pulled a small datapad out of a drawer and tucked it into her handbag.

In fact, Tremaine was also worried about Caden using his powers for something that a dark sider would do. He had always been worried about that ever since he found out that Ilanah's first husband was a Sith. He was pretty sure Lana was worried, but it was never confirmed. It was more of a feeling of Lana's that he picked up. He cleared his mind of worriness for a moment there, "You're right, I always worry about you. It's because I love you so much." He chuckled, taking out a D18 blaster pistol out of a drawer and attached it inside one of the large pockets inside his jacket so nobody would be able to see it. It was a standard procedure of Mowgle government. To ensure safety, Tremaine had to have it in case he doesn't have his bodyguards with him. The Senator would grab a few of the bags that Ilanah had packed up. "You packed, so I carry the bags." It was how their marriage worked. Whenever one does something, another does something else. It has worked for nine years, and the formula won't be changed except that they need to spend more time together.

The Senator then walked out of the bedroom, carrying the bags toward the door where one of his bodyguards had pulled the speeder up to their place.

She let her gaze linger on him for a moment as he picked up the bags and started to leave the room. He was always very good at helping, which she liked immensely. "I'll just get Aris and be right behind you." She pulled on her long coat over her dress and went to Aris' room, where she found him with a backpack and a small duffel bag.

"Why don't you go and give that to your dad? He can put it in the speeder for you." she murmured as she got a coat out of the closet for her youngest son. He might need it once on the ship, as it did get very cold in space. Eventually though, she followed them out onto the speeder landing just in time to see Aris greet his father.

Tremaine had been gone so much, that he didn't get to see a lot of Aris' childhood, but Lana had made sure to send holos of all of the important things. She hadn't wanted to travel and leave him, which could have been part of the problem that they were having. Aris enjoyed his visits to the senate halls so much, that the school on Coruscant seemed the perfect place for him to learn. Now that he was living in the dormitory too, that left her with more time to do the travelling that she might want to do, including this trip with Tremaine to Eriadu.

Tremaine had carried the bags over to the speeder, and placed them into the trunk. That was when Aris had come up to give Tremaine a hug, the usual greetings between father and son. After hugging Aris, the boy gave the father a bag so that Tremaine would put it into the trunk. He'd close the trunk as Lana approaches the two of them. He'd open the door for Lana and Aris to get inside. Afterwards, he'd get inside the speeder himself. That's when the bodyguard took off, along with them. He was taking them to the hangar bay, where they'd be able to take off.

Ilanah settled into the speeder and made sure Aris had his seat belt on before they took off. The child was yammering on a million miles a minute to Tremaine, as he hadn't seen his father in months at best.

"And then....this girl in my class said no, because she didn't think that a committee should be allowed to decide if a species is sen...t...ient or not. Which I agree with, and mom does too." He looked rather pleased with himself. Lana glanced to Tremaine for a moment and just watched for his reaction before she spoke.

"You're right, Aris. I do not agree with it. But there is also a time and place to argue the point." She added as she looked to him. She had heard that he liked to argue, and that would make him a great senator, as long as he was arguing about the right things in the right places.

Tremaine was listening in to Aris' yammering. Most people would find it annoying, but he doesn't really. He's used to listening to Senators go on and on. Besides, he haven't seen Aris in a while so it's natural for them to have a lot to talk about. He would just keep on nodding, allowing Aris to speak. "Your mother's right, and that's why you're getting into trouble in school. That's okay, you have much to learn from us."

That was all he could say, at least for the moment. The speeder headed into the traffic, it would be a couple of minutes before they get to the docking bay.

Ilanah glanced at Tremaine for a moment as he mentioned that Aris was getting in trouble at school. It had almost crossed her mind at one point (when she was getting 2-3 holos a week from that school) to pull him out and send him somewhere that he could flourish a bit more. But, she had let him stick it out, as it was truly the best school, they just had stricter policies than perhaps they should have. Lana rested the palm of her hand on Aris' back and rubbed lightly, a very motherly touch, as the ship lifted off of the ground. She knew that he hated to fly, almost as much as she had when she was his age. Despite his age and his intelligence, he was still her little boy and he was growing up too fast for her.

Once they reached the actual ship, she got out of the speeder and handed Aris his backpack. "Go find your seat, love." She murmured to him as he took the bag in his hands, then slung it over his shoulders. Aris started to run off towards the ship, and his mother paused, watching him go.

"Tremaine, I almost feel bad...putting him in that school. I kind of regret not letting him just be a kid for a while. You know? Living with his parents in a house with a big yard on Chandrila or Mowgle...riding a bike, having friends, playing in the dirt." She commented, though it was not something that she had ever admitted to her husband before. "Let him actually live before shoving him into the real world and sending him off to boarding school. I mean, I know he is close, and he comes home a few days a week and we have dinner and talk, but still...maybe I should buy him that new video game he's been wanting." She paused a moment. "No...I'm not trying to buy him or anything. I just...want him to be able to be a kid and still be great when he comes of age." Lana picked up her small carry on case and her briefcase, leaving the suitcases for the driver to load onto the ship for them.

She glanced at her husband for a moment and then smiled apologetically. "Sorry...I've just been thinking about that a lot lately."

Once the speeder arrives, and the shuttle was in sight. Tremaine got out of the speeder, leaving the doors for Lana and Aris to get out. The Senator would watch Aris run up into the shuttle. His wife began speaking to him right away, that was when he knew this discussion could take a little while. That was when he had signaled the bodyguards to help bring the bags from the speeder to the shuttle. He would lean against the speeder, listening to Lana's concerns. "Well, if we sent him to that school, it's because we wanted best education possible for him. Don't you think he could be a kid after school hours? Wouldn't he be able to make friends that way? Maybe we can see if we can sign Aris up for after-school activities. I'm sure there's something he'd like to do."

Tremaine would grin and gave Lana a nice, long kiss on the lips. "That's okay. We're worried about Aris' future that we need to do something about the present."

She returned his kiss tenderly and then pulled back just a little, though stayed encircled in his arms. "That's not what I meant though. He does all of the after school activities and he has friends in the dorms. I just feel guilty...I feel like a bad mother...for not letting him have a normal childhood. A normal school. Just a normal life." She wasn't sure that she could convey it any way other than that.

"He is fine there though. I know that he is. I just feel guilty." The feeling would pass, she was sure. She had just tried so hard to do it right with Aris, since she had screwed up so badly with Caden, and she felt that she hadn't done every thing possible to make her son happy and normal and well adjusted. He was all of those things, she just wanted the best for him.

"Nevermind. It was just...I don't know that I can explain in a way to make you understand." She wasn't insulting him, she just didn't know how to explain her feelings well enough to be understood. It was no problem to do so in the senate chamber, but talking to Tremaine was completely different than that.

Finally, she pulled away and walked up the ramp of the ship that Aris had already dissapeared into in order to find her son and get him settled in before the ship would take off.

Tremaine would keep Ilanah in his arms, listening in to Ilanah and how she was sating that she was feeling guilty. She also wasn't sure if she can explain to Tremaine in a way he would understand. The Senator raised his eyebrows, "At least try. I'd like to know what you're trying to tell me so I can help you through this."

That was when his wife pulled away from him and got inside the shuttle. He would sigh, following her into the shuttle. The Senator would go ahead and sit on the pilot chair, where he likes to fly. Most Senators would have prefer to simply be passengers, but not Tremaine. This is where he does his best thinking, and where his calmness is best suited at. After some time of waiting for the shuttle to be revved up, he had taken the ship off the ground. As a couple of starfighter escorts followed, the shuttle headed for the space.

Ilanah helped get Aris settled in, making sure that his safety belt was buckled and he had everything he needed. "I don't know how long of a flight it will be, but once we're in hyperspace you can work on your homework or something." She said before leaving him be with his book and heading up front to sit with Tremaine.

"It's not like I am trying to keep you in the dark, Tremaine....because I am not." she said as she settled down into the seat next to him. "I just have a lot of regrets. I messed up a lot with Caden, and I didn't want to do that with Aris, and I feel like I did. It's not like I can do anything to change it, I just need to do the best I can from here on out."

She paused for a few moments while the engines fired. "So how long is this trip going to take?"
