| I realize with so many things crossing the Senate's path that smaller items tend to fall by the wayside. As such, I wish to place a formal motion to inspect and investigate the company of Ravak & Larben Enterprises and send a representative from Druckenwell and at least two other planets to meet with the owners said company that they might be formally ratified as a valid business.

| I have said before and I say again, with all due respect, that if Ravak & Larben "Enterprises" wishes to become a legitimate, corporate entity with access to the New Republic's markets, it should take the initiative. There is a simple and rather quick process of incorporation which can be done through the holonet—all this company would need to do is file articles of incorporation with the appropriate office or offices on a New Republic world, and/or with the Republic itself, which lists the purpose of the company, its place of business, and its desired number and type of shares of stock. That, and basic information such as the company's officers and shareholders, etc. Ravak & Larben has not done this to my knowledge. It has, instead, shrouded its operations in secrecy. One cannot be blamed for assuming that this is, probably, for criminal purposes; a corporation doesn't hide if it has no reason to hide. The Senator is quite right, however, that some investigation of the company is in order. I believe the Chief of State called for such an investigation, although I would defer to him on whether or not it has been ordered or conducted. Also, I don't think the question has ever been answered—exactly what is Senator Ryuun's interest in this potentially criminal organization? Druckenwell has a shipyard of its own, as I understand it, which provides employment to quite a few of his people. Yet the Senator seems quite insistent on the idea of creating more competition for his planet's own, celebrated industry. Not only this, but actually purchasing ships from Ravak & Larben instead of his own industry and, as I've noted before, instead of many fine, law-abiding New Republic shipwrights.

| Perhaps, Senator Cambrist, it is possible that we are dealing with beings who do not understand the way the New Republic works. Perhaps not all that is secretive is criminal, but because some beings enjoy privacy. I do not air my personal life to the public because I enjoy a small measure of privacy. Of course, privacy is based on the being in question, but I would not be so quick to judge what you do not know. Secondly, Druckenwell makes a decent amount producing cargo vessels. Our shipyards, while indeed the pride of our planet and our people, are ill constructed to producing large amounts of war vessels such as those made at Kuat Drive Yards. With so many shipwrights in the New Republic as you say, prices are competitive. I see nothing obscene with buying from the lowest seller, especially when the goods are well made and efficient. Indeed, it is an asset to possess certain goods that are not widespread throughout the galaxy.

| These beings know enough about how the galaxy works to meticulously conceal their financies, their assets, and even themselves and their whereabouts from all attempts to ascertain this information. But even if everything you say about them is true, and they are simply humble businessbeings who value their privacy, it doesn't explain why Druckenwell should care. Brentaal certainly doesn't, and the interests of Brentaal and Druckenwell are not dissimilar. Ravak & Larben, as individuals, have a right to privacy. Ravak & Larben Enterprises, as a corporation, does not. If the company chooses to remain in the shadows, then it shall remain in the shadows without access to either the Republic or Remnant markets. Again, I see no reason to care about them—not when there are, I daresay, hundreds of shipyards in the Republic whose prices and products are comparable. Well, perhaps I have spoken in haste. There is reason to care, of course, because to the extent that Ravak & Larben might potentially be a criminal front, passing credits into the hands of pirates or dictators or warlords, it should be investigated (as I think we agree). But unless Druckenwell is declaring itself to be, henceforth, the missionary of the galaxy to every confused species, everywhere, "who do not understand how the New Republic works," it remains odd to me that the Senator is so specifically concerned with Ravak & Larben.

| I will concede the point that, as a corporation, Ravak & Larben Enterprises does indeed need to confirm to New Republic guidelines. I will not, however, so easily concede the point that all products in the various shipyards are comparable. A Mon Calamari star cruiser is hardly the same as a Star Destroyer. But that is neither here nor there. My interest though, is, as with all members of this Senate, that all beings gain fair representation in the New Republic. I simply brought this motion back because it seemed to have fallen by the wayside.

| I agree with Senator Cambrist. If this corporation wishes to bring itself into our corporate world and join our economy, then they must take the initiative. It remains odd to myself, despite your explaination, that you have singled out this corporation to attempt to...represent.
