Multi-faceted." -Erik Name: Celise Denowai Age: 24 Homeworld: Corellia Affiliation: The Jedi Order Force Skill: Above Average, Padawan Hair Color: Blonde Class: Ex-Rebel Sodier / Ex-Imperial (Training as a Jedi Consular currently) Celise Denowai, began her life in a orphanage on Coruscant. Who her parents were, or where the stray woman came from remain a mystery. All she had was simply a pendant of gold electrum, with muted blue lattices, on a chain. Adopted at the Age of three by the Denowai family, when Imperial doctors prounounced that the wife of Imperial Captain Vardo was barren, was handled as is by most upper crust families with secrecy. Celise was summarily placed into the family as the "next Denowai" addition to the new Order. Sent to the Imperial Naval academy as their offering. It was expected that the Ensign would catch the eye of some higher ranked (more influential) Officer, and marry thus ensuring their good name went untarnished. She had nightmares as a youth, but never spoke of them, for fear of enraging her stern father. Instead, for reasons still left unanswered. She failed to report to duty one day and worse a rumor persisted that she had shot a superior officer. A month the situation worsened for the Denowai when a confirmation of her aiding the Rebel Alliance on Hoth was handed down. The Denowai family was tarnished with the mark of a traitor. Despite claims of her adopted heritage, enemies of the family were quick to capitalize on the treason and within a month the Denowai, had lost everything. The consternation reached a peak when a aged Lightsaber was uncovered in the basement of their manor and Lord Vader became personally involved. Vardo was questioned at length for affiliation to the criminal Jedi and summarily executed. The execution thankfully was merciful, (As far as Imperial standards go.) when his aged heart could no longer handle the torments of interrogation. His wife summarily divorced and went on to marry (in spite of the tarnish) a Imperial on Sullust. Celise was never spoke of again. Following the Empire's defeat at Endor, Celise left the Rebel Alliance and joined a CorSec Private security company, often running a Night Job as one of the few female bouncers. Stability seemed possible, and military training in the Empire helped her thump many a unruly drunk when he'd had a little much to drink. But as she gained stability the nightmares of her youth returned. Terrible debilitating Nightmares which revolved around a Flattened Black Mirror Plate which cackled at her under a Emerald hued sky. She grew edgy often becoming late for work. Finally one night in a fevered pitch she grasped at her necklace, and cut her thumb slightly. What followed was a sight that she chalked to insanity, but a woman emerged from the Necklace. Speaking to Celise of the Force, the aged being, a ghost of the Holocron convinced her after much needling to at least hear her out. The spectre stating it would answer the riddle of her Nightmares, and stating "You can become yourself". The next week was a singular unending and fevered lesson, where waking and dream blurred and passed into the next day. Corsec was ignored. Work at the club ignored, her employers gave a sigh and fired her on the fifth day, assuming that she had flaked out again, as she had on the Empire. Celise absorbed the teachings the ghost of the holocron gave and made unprecedented progress. It wasnt that she knew the Force. And yet the lessons came, sometimes self taught, other times guided by the spirit. A Jedi called Erik sensed her untrained presence as she launched into day six of her unorthodox training retinue. After a initially dubious reception, in which she chalked the Jedi up to a Junk Peddler, or religious coot trying to get her to buy a copy of his book. She relaxed her guard after a time and Erik convinced her to let him take a midicholorian count. The Knight flummoxed with the numbers returned by the recorder, took it a second time to ensure the machine had not malfunctioned. When it was clear there was no error, Erik listened and interjected Jedi knowledge to fill in the struggling woman's questions, often which strayed back to her parents, the vision nightmare, and the ghost of the holocron. Curious of the speed at which the Force and knowledge of its usage came to her. He requested her to come with him to Yavin IV; saying the Council could possibly help her and maybe.. although the decision was not his, train her as a Jedi Knight. Maybe the Jedi had the answers. Maybe. Episode II Pathes of the Dark (2007) "I have a bad feeling about this.." -Kyle Katarn Name: Celise Denowai Age: 26 Homeworld: Corellia Affiliation: The Jedi Order Force Skill: Above Average, Padawan Hair Color: Blonde Class: Jedi Consular Two years have passed and Celise Denowai has become strong in the ways of the Force and in many cases the master of many unorthodoxed spheres and applications of it. Her training in the Jedi Temple has been a source of contested debate, as in several cases it is evident that she knows the Darkside of the Force and knows it suprisingly well. In many of her techniques is seen the skill of drawing out and exorcising the Darkside. In other cases, sensing with pinpoint accuracy the negative miasma of the Darkside and how it affects a being's mind, but at the same time holding no lasting tie to the Darkness. Her lightsaber combat is several notches above that of a typical Consular as well, blending the solid workings of Form I, with several lessons from Form II (infamously used by Count Dooku in the Clone Wars era), and Form IV's deflection techniques. It is a strange situation for the New Jedi Order. Time and again they have probed her mind, sought into her past seeking any way to link her to the Sith Order, or at the least to a record of prior Force training, mental manipulations, the gamut; And all inquiries have proved fruitless. The most damning facts that contest her "stigma" as a Dark Jedi, formost would be her age, and secondarily her exemplary work for the Rebel Alliance. She was but a child when Vader's purge occured, and she was already adopted when the Jedi were eliminated, so is highly unlikely she is a "Youngling" from the Old Order. Still despite such a vague and disquieting past, Celise is a kindly woman who has slowly come out of the shell of hiding and adopted the order as her family. Even if her "family" regards her in many ways as a oddity. But these are but the superficial tensions, which she openly shares with the council and those she trusts most. Her Lightsaber is in construction as much a mystery as her knowledge. It bears a Quixoni Crystal, giving it a defined crimson blade. Also the emitter was crafted with a tighter magnetic matrix, compressing the blade from a typical 1.00 Inches, to a .75 inch blade. This enables it to have a far higher energy output, allowing it to cut through objects often termed saber-proof, and making it exceedingly difficult for saber retardant materials to affect it. This style of a lightsaber blade is eschewed by most Jedi, as the blade is thinner than a normally defined saber blade and thus more difficult to utilize. A final feature added, is a "flash-ignition" feature, which causes her saber to ignite instantly, rather than the atypical "growth" style of most sabers. No answers have come as of yet, either from the Jedi or from her. This in itself disturbs Celise, as she still holds a desire to know the real truth of the words that the Ghost of the Holocron stated to her. On first impressions it becomes evident that her mind is quite open, and bears in many ways a innocence to it. Such may explain why while the Council cautions her in the use of the Darkside, they do not actively seek to oust her. There is something clouded in her horizon. What it is Denowai does not know, and the fact that she does not has given the council all the more perrogative to see she is protected.. if only to find the pieces to the walking puzzle that she represents, a puzzle that in her heart of hearts can be felt clearly. It is a desire for finality and resolution. Perhaps it could be construed as the will of the Force, but then perhaps that is the easy answer. In the end the riddle is as Celise is. By default a human who seeks to find herself. Episode III The Sign of the Moon (2007) "Well.. spast. How'd this happen?" "I thought we were smarter than this.." "We are.. I think." "....Apparently not." "Dont worry I have a plan." "I was afraid you'd say that master.." -Echuu Shinzon + Ryuka Vorhn - (Krayt's Head Bar, -1000 BBY) Name: Celise Denowai Age: 28 Homeworld: Corellia Affiliation: The New Jedi Order Rank: Jedi Knight Hair Color: Blonde Now more comfortable and well adjusted to her life as a Jedi, Celise increasingly undertakes missions outside the confines of Yavin IV. Aware that she is the last of the Jedi Redeemers, it has fostered a humility and desire to serve in her, that she didnt know she possessed. Achieving the rank of Knight and passing the trials under Master Seraphiel, she now is free to act with more autonomy than she had as a Padawan. To such a end, she often can be found where least expected probing the Black Market for leads on artifact movements, or assisting the Rebel cause. Due to her time in Corsec, she is well versed in the stigma some people feel to figures of authority. Thus Denowai is not entirely convinced on the idea of the Order moving back to the position of "Guardians of the Republic" feeling that it might of created too much strain that eventually was capitalized upon by Palpatine. A Padawan has yet to come under her care, but with precious little time to herself, Denowai does not plan to train a student any time soon. Much like her precursors a thousand years earlier, she finds herself inexorably drawn into a undesired conflict with what may be the last remnants of the Sith. In addition to the situation within the Praxeum, she has been forced to turn her attentions to the matter of the Remnant. Still holding great loyalty to the Rebel Alliance, Denowai often finds herself assisting the Bothan Spynet to keep tabs on occurances within the Remnant and working to shore up lingering tensions that were created by Palpatine in the Clone Wars. The Emperor succeeded in polarizing many worlds to view the Jedi and Sith in a equal light, as uncaring wizards that were decadent and bloated. Seeking to act through example Celise often can be found allieviating varied problems within the Galaxy on a personal basis and spending less and less time on Yavin IV. Whether acting in the capacity of a Jedi or a former Rebel, it would seem there is no end to the work and even less time to do it in. Episode IV Call of the Revanchist (2008) "The duty of a Redeemer is to hunt and destroy the dark side. Personal feelings cant interfere with it.. They simply cannot." Celise Shinzon- Name: Celise Denowai Shinzon Age: 29 Homeworld: Corellia Affiliation: The New Jedi Order Rank: Jedi Knight Hair Color: Faint Blonde (Almost White) It started simply enough. Studying Echuunism and attempting to learn the fate of Echuu Shinzon, the only other Padawan besides her that her Master Ryuka tas Vorhn had ever taken. What unfolded was far more than Celise ever bargained for. After telling Master Raztlain Alies of her findings and learning of the fall Master Raztlain's padawan, Gelu Torva. A second development emerged that changed the nature of the entire investigation. That development was a meeting with her teacher, the long dead Ryuka Tas Vorhn. Given advice and a name to the source of Torva's corruption, Deimos. Celise embarked on a journey to recover the Solari Crystal and learn about a person who could aid in defeating the source of Deimos corruption. That person was the Revanchist, or to be more precise a descendant of Revan. Wasting no time, Celise left Master Alies and the order behind to persue this new lead on Naboo. It would be a decision she would come to regret. While seeking the Solari crystal on Naboo, Celise found that her progress was being closely monitored by Deimos and the local criminals. The reason for the interest eluded her at the time however and she secured the ancient Jedi artifact. Hiring a pair of smugglers in the form of Curan Korvahn and Ardenai Zorphan she managed to escape from Naboo, only to be caught in the hyperspace wakes by a rogue interdictor under the command of Zeril Therix's pirates. Realizing that her presence was the source of the trouble that now threatened two innocent lives, Celise allowed herself to be captured in the hope of gaining more information. A few interesting prospects came to light on the Goliathon. Foremost that Deimos was a Sith Lord, and secondary that he wanted her alive. Further research was cut short unfortunately as the pirates came under attack from the last people Celise expected would ever aid the Order. The Empire. The New Imperial Order under Admiral Parks had engaged the ship and sought to rescue her from the pirates, who they percieved rightly were rogue Imperials. After being taken onboard the ISD- Gray Wolf, Celise found a great deal of hospitality from the NIO and a newfound respect for Park's faction. This respect was further galvanized by the fact that she learned that Parks was a descendant of Revan. Curious about the connection Parks might play, and now convinced that the force was guiding her to a conclusion, she made contact with the Praxeum and proceeded to Deralia. Unfortunately, Deimos had by this point grown irritated and began his search for Celise. Shortly after her arrival on Deralia, Celise percieved his presence and a fatal game of cat and mouse began on the streets of Deralia. The game finally reached a boiling point when after several attempts to redeem Deimos, a pitched Lightsaber battle broke out in the undercity of Deralia. But the duel was the least of Celise's concerns. Deimos' had one more suprise in store for her. The Dark Lord Deimos was truly Echuu Shinzon. Echuu Shinzon was also her father. Discovering the origin of her birth, laid a heavy burden on Celise. Disheartened by the fact that Echuu Shinzon was "slain by Deimos", (As told by Ryuka) she nearly fell to the dark side, desiring little more than acceptance from her father. But her training as a Redeemer returned at the last possible moment and miraculously she was able to shelf her emotions and carry out her duty as a Redeemer against one who was unrepentant to the end. With a broken heart and deep regret she defeated Echuu Shinzon, sacrificing her own left arm to cut herself free and send Deimos falling into the depths of Deralia's underground. In the aftermath of this horrific battle Celise went into a self imposed exile on Hoth, taking up residence in her Master's old home. Pouring her energies into mastering the intricacies of the way of the Jedi Redeemer, it is to be hoped that her fervor will not prove to be her undoing.. -OOC Annotations- For information on Jedi Redeemers and their duties, I encourage the reading of this PDF: There is good in him: The Jedi Redeemer
