Eli Fitzgerald (born 30 BBY) is a popular, conservative politician from Ralltiir and the current "caretaker" Chief of State of the New Republic while Leia Organa Solo is on maternity leave. He ascended to the position in 11 ABY as an outspoken, prior member of the Senate's influential Defense Council, whose caustic and cocksure oratory earned him a reputation as an ardent, but articulate opponent of the Imperial Remnant, taxes, and "big government" liberalism.
