[ BRIEF HISTORY ]: Echuu pre-dates most information contained within the Archives. However, the Old Republic has mention of one Echuu Shinzon during the days of the Old Jedi Order. An esteemed member of the Order before even Yoda, Echuu Shinzon proved his prowess at Darkside hunting and finding. It was during his tenant as a Jedi Knight that he scored victories against Dark Lords such as Darth Pharos, Darth Vorhn, and Darth Dace.
Echuu has been noted for his uncanny ability to imbue and disimbue items that are force sensitive. Of his exploits there is partial mention in the older manuscripts of the library detailing his efforts in exorcism of Darkside artifacts following through a mandate issued by the Jedi Council in the art of Redeemer Training. This mandate clearly indicates that Echuu Shinzon, then leading Redeemer after the subsequent retirement of his former master, was in charge of the Redeemer school, although it illustrates that Echuu did not teach padawans due to the dangerous potential to fall to the darkside through this artform. Echuu Shinzon was listed as being the leading Redeemer in both redemptions and Darksider deaths during his term, and in the archives was listed as missing following a surprise trip to Manaan. No information is provided beyond that...
... Yet Echuu lived, found by a Jedi Knight on Manaan countless centuries later. It was during this time that he would learn about the changes that underwent the Republic. It had fallen, and with it the mighty Jedi Order had crumbled in on itself. Echuu, still traditional to the core, could not forsake the ancient teachings of the Jedi way, and found himself unable to cope with the new teachings of the Order. To delve into both dark and light was to neutralize the force, or so Echuuunism had taught. His very own philosophy of the force was shattered by the new doctrines of Luke Skywalker.
And so the Jedi fell, plundering to darkness until the only thought that consumed his mind was that of revenge. Revenge against a Republic that allowed his wife to die; revenge for a Republic that allowed the Order to perish; revenge to a Republic that ruined his life. Yet the seeds of the darkside continued to manifest, and Echuu Shinzon found himself compelled by a new philosophy, that of Lord Eros, an ancient Jedi that did not seek out the darkside nor the lightside, but a way to make all beings force sensitive. It was in his research that he discovered the Jeedai teachings, that of neutrality. It seemed as if Lord Eros were nothing more then a Jeedai cultist, one of many that Echuu had tactled during his tenants as a Jedi Knight.
Yet the information regarding the destruction of the force was too powerful to be ignored, and Echuu was compelled to find it out, to seek it out. He rallied pirates and systems to his cause, bent on one purpose -- the destruction of the force.
Yet nothing turned out the way it was, and Echuu was felled on Sullust. Alone, and isolated from the galaxy yet again, Echuu felt the love of the villagers, and those that cared for him in his ailing days. On the verge of death, staring the blackness of oblivion the Jedi realized love at last. To love something so imperfect; so fragile; that it had to be protected. He recovered, and he grew strong, turning away from a life of darkness to embrace the light.
The Legacy of Shinzon is far from over....

[ WEAKNESS ]: The only weakness the Ex-Jedi would have would be his aging body, and the fact that he is a Jedi. Jedi are prone to the manipulation of events, as they are peace keepers and protectors, and thus do not willfully harm anyone and act only in defense. This makes him less aggressive in situations, but easily prone to counter-maneuvers that involve civilians or bystanders.
