But seriously...

requesting permission to unload a large amount of viral/disease attacks on Khoonda for storyline purposes discussed with Jace. As I mentio0ned to him, perhaps one in six would actually die from the outbreak(s). There are limiting factors which will be mentioned in the post. The main aim is to make people horribly, horribly sick.

1 fatality in 6 is probably just a bit higher than I'd be comfortable with, but since final casualties will be sorted out in The Coruscant Journal anyway, as is the custom in such things, I vote to APPROVE as long as its explained what this virus/disease is and where it's come from. Hopefully it can be passed off as a natural occurrence (although OOC we know it isn't), so that the galaxy isn't thrown into a panic.

Trying to post again, lets see if it works...

As usual I agree with Jace on the Fatality count being a bit higher than I would prefer to see, however so long as you are willing to allow Management to moderate this thing and act as the mass voice of the people of Khoonda (and if you are not willing we will anyhow) then I would APPROVE.

It's been four days and thus it seems as though, belatedly, this request is APPROVED. Bear in mind, however, it is approved for use on Dantooine only. Personally, I'll be reluctant to approve its widespread use elsewhere for the same reason that I'm traditionally reluctant to approve superweapons; anything that's capable of causing a galactic hysteria, in my opinion, necessarily invests the entire RP (and everyone in it, whether or not they choose) in one specific plot. This is why I'm so wary of catastrophe or, another term, "climactic" plots—because they necessarily command attention away from other plots, although of course I realize this is not the intention.

So, I won't come down on the spread of the plague to Naboo as long as it's mitigated IC and does not cause hysteria (another reason for it not to spread there is because I'm reluctant to see two potential centers of activity—Dantooine and Naboo—both be infected with a plague, which is kind of an activity killer in those places; if it spread to some unimportant world or moon, I wouldn't mind as much). In any case, I'm going to be wary of any sort of plague spreading much farther. This is, indeed, why it's mentioned specifically in the rules.

I hope I've explained my reasoning, so that I don't seem arbitrary on this. I've been accused of this before and I can understand why, because it's difficult to explain why I feel so strongly on this.

Yeah, no worries man. I don't actually have much further need of plagues and such once this section of plot resolves. It's more of a 'Hey, we have some issues and need to send out forces' deal. As I mentioned in IM, killing off lots of people would actually damage Cale's cause.
