BACKGROUND: A former officer of the Imperial Security Bureau's "Enforcement" division, who became disgusted with the bureau's indoctrination and "cultivation" of dissidents and defectors. Blount came to the attention of the Rebellion's Colonel Cracken when he uncovered (but did not prevent) the defection of a fellow Imperial officer. With Cracken's help, Blount himself defected soon thereafter and joined Alliance Intelligence. He served (and continues to serve) in Cracken's infamous Tala Squadron, and he assumed the position of gunner in the Millenium Falcon during the Battle of Endor, among other accomplishments. He is known to be a seasoned combat veteran, competent spy, and scout. Since the formation of the New Republic, Blount has followed Cracken up the chain of command, and as of 11 ABY he is a Colonel and Chief of Staff of New Republic Intelligence. Refusing to be confined to a desk, however, he has still been known to frequently undertake intelligence and reconnaisance missions himself.
