This is a simple request, for a character and his follower, some assets, and the plot.

Alright the character is Darth Aeacus, self-proclaimed Dark Lord of the Sith...believes in the ways of the old Sith Empire rather than the Two Sith idealology. He's is somewhat powerful, if need be, I can run by the powers and skills. His apprentice is a girl by the name of Darth Lethe, powerful herself, but in need of training. A proficient assassin, and skilled in this field, she is in need of development in the Force and with Lightsaber combat.

The assets... I would like control of Nfolgai, a remote world in Sith Space, with a temple Aeacus has created for himself, called the Dark Temple, over a nexus of Dark Side energy on the planet. He would also have a pack of Vornskyrs that he influences through the Force, allowing them to be wild, but under his control. Alongside that, a black Nu-class Attack Shuttle, and two black Assault Gunboats. As well as twenty beings of feint Force Sensitivity, just enough to enhance their physical abilities and senses, that are currently untrained, but intended to be molded into Sith Assassins.

Alright, now to the part I'm expecting the most resistance from, the plot. More or less, Aeacus' origins. He wasn't aware of his Force Sensitivity until ten years ago. He was in a program within the NIO for over a year, called Force Warrior. Rather uninventive name, which tried to develop Force sensative Warriors, at first in a small and then eventually large number, to eventually lead its forces like the Jedi did with the GAR of old. Of course, this never happened, and the two subjects, Aeacus and another, who will be introduced later should the plot develop that far, go rogue, being the only subjects thus far in the development. They go their seperate ways, both falling to the Dark Side. Aeacus has been holed up in Sith Space for the past nine years, venturing out as needed, such as to gain an apprentice of his own, absorbing the knowledge of the old Sith Empire. He believes himself to be the Dark Lord of the Sith and Sith Emperor, and aims to re-establish the Sith Empire through Sith Space, and eventually the galaxy, and uniting all Sith in his endeavor...and kill those that don't go along. On top of that, he holds a big grudge against Jaron Park and his family, wants to kill them, etc.

Questions to be addressed:

1) How did Aeacus come to 'control' planet Nfolgai? It's an obscure name that does belong in Old Sith Space, somewhere near Ziost (which, alas, I couldn't even find on the Essential Atlas, which was a let down), but normally elected means (representation and democracy) or monarchical claims have to be established to show that person is in control. As a Sith, one would have claim over the planet, but I'm curious as to the history leading up to you either subjugating the planet, or winning their hearts.

2) 20 ABY is still a minimal time of Sith activity, at least in my opinion, so why should management allow a force user to be a Sith? (You stated you are a self-proclaimed Dark Lord of the Sith, but not-indeed-a self-proclaimed Sith, therefore you've had previous training under one of the older Sith Masters).

2a) How did Aeacus come to learn the Sith arts? Being a Sith?

Statements:

1a) We, the management, are not prone to accepting any pre-era items, but in this case, I think it's safe to assume that two Assault Gunboats, and one Nu-Class Attack Shuttle wouldn't be too far fetched considering the remoteness of where I'm assuming you intend to start.

1b) I would still prefer to see more modern era machinery used, since Star Wars has a prevalence of decommissioning old models. But again, as Malachor V is a graveyard for said ships, it's not hard to assume you would have scuttled some parts.

2) I will not permit you to have 20 beings of faint Force-Sensitivity. I will permit you to have 4 individuals of Force-Sensitivity, wherein you can RP training and raising there awareness of the Force, and likewise there training in combat tactics, and from there you may request additional force sensitives after RP the search for said individuals, but really, I would see your organization as being fledgling compared to the Order, and not as widespread (after all the Jedi are advertised by the Republic, to a degree) so you would have to manually seek followers, which, as we all know, can be difficult.

3) I actually don't object too much to the NIO program. Considering the program failed, and only two offspring came from this program, I think it's a safe bet that this can't get too far out of hand. I would prefer if maybe the second individual died during the program, leading to Aeacus' need to leave or be killed similarly, but I'm just throwing that out there.

4) Your end statement is somewhat contradictory. You state that the NIO started a program to create Force-Sensitive Generals, which ultimately failed, leading to your character (Darth Aeacus) falling to the Darkside, leading to him being stranded (or simply hiding) in Sith Space for nine years, but being a Sith? Am I to assume that your character is a self-proclaimed Sith as well as Dark Lord of the Sith? The question above still stands.

So I'll break it down, as I think the amendment should go.

4 x Force-Sensitives
[Possible] Nfolgai Planet
Nu-Class
2 x Assault Gunboat

Now if you could just answer my questions, I would appreciate that.

Echuu has already covered a lot of what I was going to say, so apologies if I restate some of it. For the sake of consistency, I'll build from what he's said and use the same format as I add just one or two brief points (by way of introduction, however, I'm broadly in favor of this request and I look forward to seeing the character developed; also, good choice of avatar). Okay, so here goes:

1. I agree that a brief background of how he came to prominence on Nfolgai would be helpful. It should be easy to make something up, since it's a one sentence world on Wookieepedia (ergo, you have a lot of creative freedom). More importantly to me, however, is the money; where does Aeacus get his money, i.e. to build a Sith Temple and purchase his ships? Please expand on this.

2. As Echuu has said, there isn't really a formal "Sith Order" per se. The common practice, thus, has been for fallen Jedi or, in the case of Aeacus, Force users who have been trained by other means to declare themselves Sith. I think this is what you mean, since you will concede he certainly wasn't trained by a Sith and probably only has fragmentary knowledge of Sith teachings. That said, I'm perfectly fine with Aeacus referring to himself as a Sith, since a drunken homeless person could do that and, I think we agree, Aeacus has considerably more credibility on the subject than a drunken homeless person; however, neither are truly "Sith" in a formal sense. But alas, this is just semantics.

(Just a brief aside, on the subject of semantics—I think the term "Sith Space" is unhelpful, and I would suggest we not use it because it refers to an area of space that was once occupied by the Sith some 5,000 or so years ago and there's no longer a Sith Order that does so. That said, we do know the region you refer to and I'm fine with Aeacus being holed up there).

Pertaining to Echuu's statements:

1.) a.) I'm not a fan of prequel era ships, but my aversion to them really ends at capital ships. Smaller ones, such as these, are perfectly fine. That is, Nu-class Shuttle is fine. The Assault Gunboats, however, have 40 missiles each and this is a bit more than I'm comfortable approving for personal use at this time. I would request that you choose another, more lightly armed craft please.

1.) b.) I do not disagree. It might be a nice touch of realism to note that your ships, considering their age, have maintenance issues (only a suggestion).

2.) I think the last time anywhere near this number of followers was approved were the 15 disciples at Dagobah, almost 2 years ago. Since that time, a trend seems to have evolved that no more than one disciple is approved up front, with the possibility of more being allowed as they are recruited over the course of the RP (for recent examples, I refer to Novak and to Drasek Cale—also, their apprentices aren't even NPC's but actual characters, that is, Deven Rel'kom and Treylon Voss. An excellent example). I like this rule of thumb, because A.) it lets us see how the player handles one student first, and B.) it makes the recruitment of more students contingent on how active that player is; that is, it rewards activity with more followers. This seems fair to me. I vote to DENY all followers except for Darth Lethe, with the possibility of recruiting more in the RP.

3.) This is the only real point on which I substantively disagree with the request. It's been over a year now since the NIO has been a player in the RP. I think it's time to move on. Regurgitating it again and again, I think, overstates its influence and importance in galactic events. Also, with respect, it's preferred that a player's characters aren't all associated with one another and I believe you have at least 8 characters already that either are or are associated with Jaron Park. I don't mean this disrespectfully, please understand, but it does become excessive at some point. Also, the NIO's Force training program was never approved, to my recollection; to suggest that it ever had one, I think, again overstates its influence—it was a small faction that existed for a short time, and would not have had those sort of resources.

Also, I fear more references to the NIO will confound new players, who don't and shouldn't have to know what it was. However, the rest of Aeacus's background is fine with me, and there are many, many other ways he could have been trained.

4.) See my remarks in response to Echuu's question #2, above (the third paragraph of this post).

I'll hold off on any more official votes until we've bandied about for a bit. I'm sympathetic to this request, and very willing to compromise to make it happen.

I really think that Echuu and Jace have covered all of my concerns so I will settle with only a brief reiteration of a couple of points.

1.) To clarify the way Jace and I have always (and likely always will) handle the ‘Sith’ is to underline their role here in this RP has been virtually non-existent. By thins I mean that self proclaimed Sith are just that; self proclaimed. Ancient Sith Alchemy and Magic dies with Vader and have stayed dead since that time.

2.) Assault Gunboats have been consistently denied due to their destructive capabilities and I see no reason to change it.

3.) 20 NPCs (other than government officials, mechanics, clerks, or other non-violent characters) have never been approved. Like Jace I have grown accustomed to allowing only one NPC for this sort of application.

Here stand my Votes:

Assault Gunboats – Deny

20 NPC followers – Deny(with three votes to deny I think we can call this portion DENIED

Character, planet, history (pending some few changes) - Approve

Quote (Jory)
2.) Assault Gunboats have been consistently denied due to their destructive capabilities and I see no reason to change it.

I actually have to contend on this point Jory. The Assault Gunboat is listed as having a compliment of 40 missiles, but only 2 concussion launchers, limiting it to a full spread of 8 concussion missiles before reload. While a powerful weapon, I don't see it as being something beyond the scope of someone finding. If anything the payload is more dangerous to the person flying the ship, as that extra cargo could destroy the ship as easily as be used against an opponent.

I would attest that the Gunboat is probably one of the more conservative pieces of armament we've approved.

On the Assault Gunboats, if you want to get truely technical, by definition of the rules, if they are for personal use, I wouldn't have to request them in the first place. And they are intended here as more of a personal transport for the Aeacus and Lethe. I am however requesting them due to the fact that they will be used also in an official fashion, and in a way part of the faction's forces; something I do believe no other darksider has done. And citing Echuu's arguement, and support, ask that Jory reconsider, and Jace give...well, an answer. I'll even accept a provision that their missle systems are current inoperable and in need of repair. And that the weapon systems on the shuttle are inoperable at this time as well.

No problem on the followers.

Now, on to the background. Jace, you have a point. Probably have some subconscious thing going on where since I'm unhappy how the NIO ended, I try to flesh out the incomplete or never started plots as background actions. I can easily change it to another warlord, with the same premise in mind. We can change it up to, that he ended up murdering his counterpart in a training exercise, leading to his trainers trying to kill him, only to be killed themselves, leading to him fleeing. The murdering of his counterpart, in anger and frustration, being the catalyst that finally submerges him in the Dark Side. Would that satisfy all of you?

Now with becoming Sith, he believes himself to be a Sith and in the Sith ways. He has gone throughout Sith Space, learning what he can from limited holocrons, never deeply learning from one yet. That is something I will RP out, I'm assuming with management moderation on what he learns and such. He's not into alchemy or magic, merely the Force itself and the teachings of the ancient Sith Lords. As for subjugating the planet, he showed up and showed his powers and standing as a Sith, leading to the people to serve him more or less as slaves. Once he proved himself to them, and they accepted his rule, he commanded that they build the Temple. Does that clear that up?

Completely. I vote to APPROVE everything. You've covered all of my concerns so thoroughly that, for once, I have nothing else to add. Nicely done.

I think we're all agreed, so unless I'm proven wrong on that point then consider the request APPROVED.
