I would like to request to play the Government of Thyrsus, having seen this whole Mandalorian story Arc it reminded me... aren't antagonists even more fun when they have their old rival. So anyway, Details of Thyrsus are pretty non-existent at best, so I figure I would read into the background...
*10 minutes later*
So theyre basically ripping on the Romans, which is fine. So I figure I will request the population be in line with the population of the world in the year 1AD, 250,000,000.. but then I thought... its only a splinter from the Echani, so how many of them were there.. which is never stated.. so I feel happy putting it at 20% that number, 50,000,000
Thyrsus
Population: 50,000,000
Environment: Temperate to Tropical in the Equatorial Regions and Cold near the poles
Government: Senate/Gynarchy
Capital: Thyrus
Population distribution: Mostly in Northern Temperate Regions, Small settlements away from these.
The planet would be heavily geared towards military ability in the Echani way. This would mean that all citizens were trained from birth, and women would play a large role in the running of society, while a portion (but not a majority) of men remain soley within the Military. In this way they would resolve the cool Echani way with the male traditional ways of Thyrsus in order to provide a society based upon its Echani Roots, but still very Militaristic in the Sun Guard pattern.
The Senate would be composed of wise women elected from each administrative region, in addition to a number of positions that must mandatorially filled by men, it would be ruled by two consuls. The Civil Consul and the Military Consul. The Civil Consul is elected from the Senate, by the Senate, and the Military Consul is the Supreme Sun Guard.
The Culture would be heavily based around the Sun Guard ideals of bravery and honour, and male children would be trained for the military from a young age (but are free to choose not to take the Sun Guard trials at 16 and remain part of the Civil Society).
Once aged 16 men may join the Sun Guard which would have been reformed by veterans and traditionalists as a way of preserving their culture, after many Sun Guards died or joined the Imperial Guard.
As a military unit, the Guard was organized into regiments, legions, and other levels of hierarchy; they often operated in teams of four. The lowest rank, taken by initiates into the group, was Stellar Legionnaire. They served a provisional term of one year, during which time they could be expelled at any point for breaches of Sun Guard etiquette, such as cowardice or undisciplined drunkenness. Legionnaires who passed were promoted to Stellar Tribune and made responsible for a legion of the Sun Guard, consisting of twenty to forty soldiers.
Officers were rarer among the Sun Guard; officer ranks ranged from Twisuns Legate, who commanded two to four legions, Twisuns Praetor, Thychani Commander, Thychani Dictator and finally Supreme Sun Guard, a rank comparable to general in other militaries. Promotion was obtained through military heroism, while cowardice was cause for expulsion at any rank.
