Citing Rule 4.1, you are hereby made aware that despite your character profile, your character is void in the Senate, and must go through the joining process, as all others before you have done so. Senate posts made by this character will be deleted within 24 hours. Anyone with relevant posts are encouraged to edit them to remove references to this character and his action and/or ask for post deletion in this thread.

I think it might be better to wait for Jace to get back before you start deleting posts and such.

Ordan is intended to be an existing character (who has existed through back to the AGW set in 11ABY), who had been a Senator for a long time, and so as such does not need to be admitted under 4.1.

May I point out that both Senators North and Veritas never went through the admission process. Also Senator Fowlkes now represents Telos IV instead of Mowgle, switching with no Senate vote. In total, so far as I can see, the full list of Senators who were never approved in this edition of AGW is North, Cambrist, Ryuun, Fowlkes, Oswaldt, Veritas etc etc have never gone through said process.

Representative Ordan sat in the old AGW for Vjun.

I fail to see where the distinction is? Perhaps you could explain?

If you're going to delete the posts from Ordan, the posts from Veritas and North ought to go the same way.

Feel free to chase me up on IM if there are any queries.

North, Veritas, Fowlkes, and others, were part of allowed changes when we began our reset and new timeline, which was done so by management to make the transition and begining easier. We did the same back when we started up in the 11 ABY timeline, the first and second time. Whether or not Ordan existed in 11 ABY, and he only existed in that timeline and only on MSN, doesn't matter in this instance so that is irrelevant. Wishing to take advantage of special situation after the fact, while unfortunate that you had no desire to do so when you could, is not a reason to make an exception to the rules now. So, your options are... do what is being asked of you... or, don't and leave this character void.

Veritas, North and Fowlkes never went through the boards. I dont see why I should. I think Jace will agree with me, when he returns. Equally, I think it impressive you're managing to post here in a timely fashion (it'd be nice to see it elsewhere!).

Frankly its pretty hypocritical to say "I can make characters, and enter them into the senate with no vote, when theyve got no history, but noone else can". I have intended to introduce Ordan for quite some time.

Anyway, I cant say I am shocked! And I look forward to hearing Jace's views on this.

Both of you are right and, I'm afraid, both of you are wrong (as I see it). It is okay to have "veteran senators," if you will; indeed, this was an option I gave to Crin and Taja when they made their characters. However, as with Crin and Taja, consultation with management in advance is appreciated. As it is, though, I don't mind Ordan having been around the Senate for awhile, but it seems to me that Rule 4.1's provision that "new Senators may not vote on a measure for which voting was already in progress at the time they became a Senator," existing as it does for OOC reasons, should still apply here. Thus, as you'll see, I haven't counted Ordan's votes thus far in the official Senate tallies. Seems fair to me, and hopefully that resolves things to everyone's satisfaction.
