I'll probably be voting for Ron Paul, YES IM TALKING POLITICS!

With all this recent shit I've been hearing about Obama signing FDAA, Martial Law and what not. It's pretty obvious, the united states is really getting... fucked. Yes, I'm also cursing.

Also, if this SOPA/PIPA bill passes I'm pretty sure we'd have a little revolution here in america.

So in the fact that I'll probably go to prison before I get banned from here

Fuck that shit.

Yes It's me chuck, No I've not been hacked, I've just lost all faith.

All faith son.

Love you all.

See you in prison, fellas!
Love you all.

It was the NDAA that he signed

It's already been heard that President Obama opposes SOPA/PIPA and will more than likely veto them, along with the fact that those who drafted SOPA have been back pedaling hard.

I either wont be voting this year, or I'll find the one person running for president that is atheist.

That's my two cents, for those jumping in, Good Luck, I'm not touching the rest of this with a 20 foot pole.

As Carl said, pretty sure Obama opposed NDAA and has stated opposition to PIPA/SOPA.

I wouldn't believe all you read on right wing news channels, there's a lot of fear mongering. You're not going to get detained by anyone for using your freedom of speech. You're not going to get socialised health care (more's the pity, free medicine is great).

Obama is actually very conservative by the standards of the majority of the world, it's just the right there seems to keep trying to make things "true by repetition" - i.e. Obama is a socialist, Obama is a nazi, Obama is destroying America. Blah blah, not true.

Honestly, from a detached perspective I can tell you things are fine, it's just silly people are worrying too much and worry is contagious.

My conspiracy theorist father is going absolutely banana-sandwich over the NDAA thing, but I haven't been worried about it. As far as the censorship bills, Jamie's right in that they have an extremely low chance of actually getting passed, so honestly I get a kick out of the hysteria it's generated.

Not to get too political, but since I'm far too tired to post IC or on requests, etc. tonight I might as well post here.

First of all, Chuck, don't kill anyone or call in a bomb threat or anything. The NDAA is something that's passed every year, only this one has a thing in it that says you can be detained as an enemy combatant if you support al Qaeda, which you don't as far as I know. But even so, it requires the President's approval and Obama has said it's unconstitutional and he's not going to do it (and even Mitt Romney seems to agree, interestingly). Moreover, if an American citizen ever is detained under the NDAA FY2011 it'll tossed out in court because, again, it's unconstitutional. Granted, there seems to be a difference of opinion on this, but I'm right.

As Karth said, the SOPA/PIPA bills appear to be dead as of today. And as Carl and Jamie said, Obama opposed them too. But just to be clear, the internet censorship thing and the detention of al Qaeda suspects are separate things. That is, you won't be detained as an enemy combatant for torrenting, say, Breaking Dawn (hey, I don't judge the movies you watch, man).

As for Carl's remark, to be honest, Obama is probably the closest thing to an atheist President we've ever had. He doesn't frequent any church in D.C. as other Presidents have and he's often included shoutouts to "nonbelievers" in his speeches and remarks, including in his inauguration address; this impresses me because we atheists are a small minority with hardly any influence and most of us probably support Obama anyway, so the fact he's mentioning "nonbelievers" has to be a matter of principle, not politics. I appreciate that.

Anyway, that's enough politics for me.

I liked McCain (judge me :p)

In an interview, he was asked what his weapon of choice would be, in a duel vs Obama. And he chose the Lightsaber :D.

There are two politicians that I take care of at my work. One is a Massachusetts Senator(Democrat), the other, a vice chairman(Republican). I hear very diverse opinions. Both of which I'm open minded to. I could say more. But it might bite me in the derriere.

I guess I'm just old school. Or a few years living down South influenced me. I believe in the right to bear arms. I have a license to carry. Nobody is going to take that right. Obama would probably like to. But guns, aren't just meant for taking lives, they have the power to save them too. And I always have a damn good time at the range.

I'm not exactly a fan of any of the candidates. But you can prob get an idea which direction I'm going lol.
