| Let's open this up, so we don't clutter up the thread with OOC nonsense. I'm sure this won't be the last time we'll need it, either.
Now, there is a distinct difference between the message in question that was sent by Ordan to the Cronese government, and the RP of the thread. While there are exceptions, I believe, in which a message may or may not be possible to send (i.e. communications blackout), or in a case in which it would change the aspect of the thread or give advantage in an untimely manner to one player over another, messages, memos, et al. are not dominated by the turn cycle of the thread of which they are in relevance to. For example, you, Carl, would be able to send a message to Deralia, promising to give it a planet or something in exchange for breaking off from the blockade. No problem. You can do it right now, still no problem, you could have done it a week ago, still no problem. You could do it a week from now, still no problem. You can do it while wearing a Scottish variant of a Darth Vader costume while riding a unicycle in a circle in a parking lot while playing the Star Wars theme on the bagpipes, still no problem.
Now, I see no reason why a message simply stating "stop what you're doing or we're going to do this" should be held up. In this case, it make no immediate impact on the thread in question, and whether it happens before I post or after I post, it's still going to happen and its still a consequence of what is going on. Trying to hold up said message, just so you can post that you're ending your action anyways, is frankly childish. Saying in one thread "Hey, wait on this guy!" and in less than twenty minutes skipping over someone in another thread "Oh hey, sorry, gotta skip you" is hypocritical at best, and shady at worst. All I see here is an OOC motivated fight to maneuver yourself into the best outcome possible for you, damn RP, damn integrity, damn the rules, damn anyone around you. Whether or not that is the case, is obviously up for you to state, but that is the outward perception of your actions.
The action in question is, as Jamie said, a mode. As you stated in your first post, you set up the bulk of your forces at the edge of the system, locking it down, and preventing any vessels from escaping and turning away any vessels leaving; seizing any vessels meant to supply the blockade as well. Your own words, sir. I'll even do you the favor of quoting you...

There you have it. Your own words. Skipping someone to counter your own actions is just... I can't even think of a word to describe it, honestly. I see no importance to the action of skipping me, nor any legitimate reason to do so. As the person effected, I'm going to have to ask that you remove your post, and wait until I can post this evening when I return from Chicago.
Carl, I like you. You're individualistic, you have a great vision of what you want to achieve in an RP, you're not afraid to make something your own and unique, you always seek to add more to something you take over. The only negative you have is how you react to opposition. As soon as someone opposes you, it seems you try to make RP as unenjoyable as possible for the other person, rather than actually attempt to RP; and I speak of this as a voice of reason and honest experience, because to be frank, a couple of years ago, I was you (honestly, ask Jace, or Karth, or Jamie even!). I was the exact same way, I used the exact same tactics. Honestly, I'm ashamed of it, now. Then, I saw it as perfectly reasonable, as I'm sure you do now. But where did it get me? Nowhere. Absolutely nowhere. It was not those actions that got me into management, although our similar positives did. That negative attribute is probably what kept me out of it longer than what I probably would have been otherwise here.Added (30 Mar 2012, 12:34 PM)

With a little hindsight, I'm actually okay, unless Jamie or the other participants in the thread disagree, to let the post go. While the principle of a mode being left standing does bother me, I am a reasonable and fair person. I realize too that it must've felt as if there was a dogpile going on. I apologize if I seem to be coming off as harsh or unreasonable here; mostly, I'm just trying to make sure a bad precedent isn't set, and I'm also frustrated by seeing someone that I see great potential in, resorting to actions that are far below himself rather than live up to that potential.
In short, Carl, I know you're on the freak out and full defensive, it's okay, I still like you, I'm letting your post go unless someone else wants to push for its deletion, let's hug it out.

| So long as the Minerva was seized (as stated by his action) then I am fine with it (otherwise I lied to the Senate which I did not intend to do, but simply to respond honestly to the statement of action in a rather short and non detailed post).
Fine with "it" in this context means that I am fine with the Cronese running when shot at. I am not fine with any alternative action or post elsewhere on the forums not related to the matter discussed on this thread.

| Uh... well... I'm not quite sure what exactly happened. I post, I go to bed, I go to work, I come home to find that the thread has hit the roof. | I'm calling a challenge on your last post.
1. For autoing Damage to a vessel
2. How a vessel that is no where near the edge of the system would even be able to hit a vessel at the edge of the system without a lock on, or even aiming, or even known the exact location of the other vessel would even hit it.
