Darwin delayed publishing his work for years and years, I suspect out of a sense of perfectionism, until Charles Lyell told him that if he waited any longer, Alfred Russell Wallace was going to hit on his idea and publish it first. I, too, seem to have let my beard grow long and grey as I delay posting the beginning of the Slave Fair. In part, it's because I didn't know for some time that I was going to make the first post, although I did agree to do so perhaps a month ago. That I still haven't reflects, in part, Carl's departure from the RP—I need to ask Jess if she's ok with being in charge of Anderson's operation. I'm also not entirely sure who's going to attend or, importantly, how the RPing of the Slave Fair will actually work. But, like Darwin, I suspect I'm simultaneously over- and under-thinking this. I'll start it tonight, provided I'm not too tired from work.

With Carl gone, I offer the services of Abrion Sector's own hero, Rear Admiral Jeremy Brogan, to conduct the operations with the esteemed Captain Bella.

I believe in Bella! Make that Line Captain Bella. (I'll auto out Anderson, since I seem to have assumed the job of autoing out Carl's characters).

But I'm also reeeeally tired. Stupid work, all day, day after day. I'm working the maximum number of hours allowed by law this week, but thank the Buddha it finally drops off around Monday, I think. Or Tuesday. I'm not saying it'll take me that long to post, but! I have noticed that each successive night of this I'm increasingly exhausted. So we'll see.

If you buy coffee, please tip your barista and tell them they're handsome or pretty as the case may be.

This is pretty much what your experience is like at my Starbucks, only it doesn't take 4 minutes. And yes, I do sing that when the mood strikes me.

In fact, I think I have my Halloween costume idea now...
