Just noticed this, and thought I'd bring it to your attention.

Taikaha City doesnt have any kind of Starport or landing pad for aerial vehicles; which means no ground control to request permission from to land. Plus landing in anyone's open fields or ranch or even just the middle of the town would get them lynched for their actions.

So does that mean there's nobody there with some kind of radio transponder or whatnot who wouldn't respond to a circling shuttle? Flagg's a casino owner and a businessman after all. Plus he's got a reputation for puttin' an end to one of Dantooine's infamous outlaws, in a roundabout way. Hero of Sulem and all that.

Not to mention one doesn't actually have to land if one can be lowered by rope from a shuttle hovering on repulsors and all. Makes it easier to get people on the ground without actually landing to damage things.

There might not be any ground control, but there needs to be someplace where people land ships. With no roads to Taikaha City, traveling to it overland would take forever. Freighters probably come and go to transport livestock, supplies, etc. at least as far as Sulem. A lot of ships? Probably not. But come now, there must be some place on the outskirts of Taikaha City where people can land their ships without being lynched.
