Imperial Minister Dies of Natural Causes
Imperial Center — Tyrion Malticore, the sixty eight-year old Imperial Minister of Mining and Resources, was found dead in his apartment on Imperial Center this morning of natural causes. Minister Malticore, whose career pre-dated the Empire, died of a heart attack. "Minister Malticore has passed naturally from life," said Sate Pestage, the Grand Vizier of the Empire, in a statement this afternoon. "As we mourn his not-untimely death, let us reflect on his exemplary career and hope that it inspires the legion of civil servants, like Minister Malticore, who help to run the Empire on a day-to-day basis."
Colleagues described Malticore, who has no immediate family, as "married to his work," and a "content man" who was "sprightly, for his age." He was a resource liaison in the Republic prior to his appointment as the Imperial Minister of Mining and Resources.
The Grand Vizier announced in his statement that a replacement would be appointed early next year.
