Background:
Fighting and killing is as bread and water to the youths of the Clans on Embaril, constant inter-clan warfare has meant little central ruling has got done for the past centuries as raiders would ravage eachothers land. Taking a break from internicine conflict, Warhawk enlisted in the Republic Army, rising to become a Lieutenant in the Infantry and distinguishing himself as suicidally brave, if brash and irresponsible. On returning home to Embaril with his Clansmen who had enlisted with him, he found his house a little disadvantaged due to his departure, he quickly righted the wrongs, having brought home with him several CIS and Republic Tanks which had been written off by the military. This allowed him to unite the Clans (after slaughtering his main rival clan) and become Planetary Thane. While there was initial discontent to unity, it evaporated after it became clear the Thane was more interested in drinking, womanizing and fighting to be keen on imposing laws on his people, holding an annual "month of combat" to allow scores to be settled amongst the clans has been his only real legislative move.
The power behind the throne is his elderly father, Alexander "Shrike" McCray, who retired from Chiefdom of the clan in preference of his son, wise and calculating he controls most of the foreign policy of the planet and arranges tax to be paid to the Empire, leading raids against those who do not pay the (admittedly modest) rates.
