Background: Eliphas Cale is of the nobility of Baltimn, uncle to Finius Cale, Landgrave of the Baltimn System. Coming from such a family, Cale's questionable nature in some regards were overlooked, allowing him to gain a commission within the Republic Army. Working with the Intelligence branch and reaching the rank of Major, Cale served as an interrogator during the Clone Wars. While much of his work never saw true light, Cale was perfectly fine with this due to his unquestionably brutal methods and tactics, no few of which earned him the unsavory nickname of 'the flayer' behind his back. Cale, however, prided himself on the fact that he never failed to get results and his methods were therefore, overlooked, despite several complaints raised against him by subordinate officers.
After the Clone Wars, Cale was honorably discharged and returned to Baltimn to become Lord of the Western Hills; a small tract of moderately-settled mountainous land that afforded Cale the chance to indulge himself from time to time in his hobby. The reports of missing people in his district were never enough to draw major attention from the capitol and that, plus the knowledge his nephew had, kept him safe. In this manner, Cale ruled; an excellent motivator for the people on one hand and a sociopath in the other.
