Proposal to send relief aid to Chad

| I was saddened by this news. I had recently learned that the planet Chad, located in Jospro Sector, were hit with a tsunami and groundquake. I would like to propose that His Majesty allow us to send relief aid to Chad. It is a planet way out in the Outer Rim, which is why i suggest that we send relief aid as soon as possible. I would also like to volunteer to lead this campaign. The toll is catastrophic, we must act on this now. I vote in favor of sending relief aid to Chad.

| I am supportive of this measure as well, although "relief aid" is rather vague. I would suggest that the wording be revised along the lines that "the Empire shall, under the direction of Senator Fowlkes," if, indeed, he is interested in leading this effort, "assemble the medical supplies, food, and other provisions necessary for the relief and recovery of the people of Chad, and dispatch these provisions to this purpose with all possible haste." I would be quite willing to vote in favor of the measure with an amendment of this sort. It should be noted, however, that it seems it's up to the Moff of the Jospro Sector whether he will choose to accept this aid. But I see no reason he would not—the Chadra-Fan may not be Human, but surely we do not wish suffering upon them, and the recovery of this world and all of its inhabitants is, of course, beneficial to the Humans who live there as well (even if, as it seems, the Humans have been relatively unharmed themselves).

| I thank you, Senator Cambrist, for correcting me. I am still new to the Senate, after all. I would be more than willing to spearhead the efforts in coordinating the relief and recovery aid of Chad. However, I would like to hear from the Moff first to see if he has approval on this before I act on this.

| Of course, I vote enthusiastically in favor. The Empire must do what it can to help these people. Naboo will certainly lend all the doctors and engineers that it can spare.

| It saddens me to a point that something such as this has to be voted on in the senate. While we are speaking of it, the Empire should have already began to send aid. Nevertheless, I also vote in favor of aid being sent immediately to Chad. This should not be delayed.
