"This Motion would remove Senator Veritas from the head of the Defence Committee, and furthermore remove him from the Defence Committee completely, due to lack of active participation in committee and general lack of contribution in recent months. The Empire has a significant portion of spending allocated to defence, and members of the defence committee have expressed their dismay that Senator Veritas should hold that office and fail to comment creatively on defence legislation or other defence issues. Furthermore, Senator Oriel, having been very active in the field of defence policy, and having passed no less than three significant pieces of defence legislation in the last months, and with a suitable military background, is hereby nominated to take his place as Chairman of the Defence Committee."
