| A young woman, only 18 years old would stand in front of the Imperial Senate to speak. Senators and Representatives I address you on behalf of the Monarchy and people of Volus. I am Anja Motour, daughter to King Loton Motour of Volus and his heir. In light of recent events the council, as well as my father has seen it fit to send me here to the Imperial Center to attempt to negotiate a peaceful resolution to the current disputes and to find an end to the blockade against one of our allies, Aeeq. I am here to not only to negotiate but to take over for Senator Crin Star, as she has been recalled to Volus to council our King on military matters. I do hope Volus can forge successful relationships with the rest of the galaxy and that we will be able to work in harmony with the best interest of all of our people at heart. I do hope that the senate will accept me, as the new senator for Volus. Thank you for your time and I look forward to working with ALL of you in the future.

| Please clarify, are you here as a representative or a permanent replacement for the political corpse known as Crin Star?

| I would like to extend my sincerest welcome, Ms. Motour. Only eighteen? Is that not a bit young to serve in senate?

| I am a little shocked here, but I find myself in agreement with Senator Thanatos, I personally do not believe a 18 year old, of either gender, is fitted for service in the Imperial Senate. At eighteen a human is not even fully developed mentally..

| (Typo there, it should be 18, which means she would be right with Leia for being the youngest senator to serve and Jace says its not too young!) Added (27 Jan 2011, 5:30 PM) --------------------------------------------- I can promise you both I am more than qualified to serve as senator for my planet. I have been exposed to the legal and legistative system of Volus since I could walk and have been studying galactic politics since age 10. I have also been keeping up with everything happening within the Senate within recent weeks so that the transitation would be as smooth as possible.

| How would you, as Senator, respond to the crisis surrounding your world's effective attack on the rights of every Imperial Citizen? How do you feel with regards to the implementation of "secret laws"? How do you feel about King Motour's lack of effective governance with regards to the massive increase of piracy in Volusian space? Do you feel perhaps a different policy to the present "one ship" policy is needed to deal with this? What is the State of King Motour's government? how does it plan to react to the Coalition protest?
Verence Terrawin
Senator of Alsakan First Lord of the Foreign Office, Alsakan

| Allow me to speak freely for my planet; we have not attacked the rights of every Imperial Citizen. Is it not the right of a world to govern itself as long as it falls well within the laws and codes set forth by the Imperial Senate and the Emperor? As for our recent problems within the senate, I would like to sit down with some of the individual senators and speak about our differences and attempt to come to some sort of peaceful solution that will benefit everyone involved. As for the increased piracy within Volusian space, we have recently seen a slight increase in pirate attacks that have been blown out of portion by the galactic media. I do not believe the rise in piracy is anything to be alarmed about and is still below the galactic norm. As for what you call the “one ship” policy, allow me to say that the Volus fleet, while small is able to handle all of these attacks. I would also like to state that I have noticed an abnormal amount of animosity against Volus within these chambers. Is this the reason for such harsh questioning or perhaps the reason why Vjun and others have shown such aggression against our normally peaceful planet? King Loton Motour has no issues ruling his planet; however he does have issues with other planets coming in with aggressive tactics for no reason and blockading innocent planets who have done nothing against another. I am sorry about the recent acts of aggression by certain members of this body are quite alarming even to one as young as me. We should be working together and not against each other and I feel some try to pin us against one another and that is not the point of this body. As for the coalition issue, I would like to say that we are willing to go into open talks with members in order to come to a peaceful and beneficial resolution for all parties.

| Even though Miss Motour will be one of the youngest senators to serve within this body, I do believe we should give her a chance to at least prove herself and not hold the Former Senator Star's actions or words against her. I believe this is a great opportunity for a new start and new relationships between Volus and many of the others planets that are representated here. I would like to be the first to welcome you to the senate and if you are ever in need of a friend please do not hestiate to seek me out.
Ja'nar Cerra Queen of Garos IV Acting Senator to the Republic, Garos IV

| Mrs. Motour... I have reservations, I'll admit, as to your age. Study of politics and even sitting in on some political meetings is far less demanding than having the weight of an entire planet on your shoulders. I do not wish to see you go the same way as your less-talented and perhaps half-mad predecessor.

| So much for being the youngest. Heh, Oh well. But I too have concerns about the age. I'll hold judgment.

| Allow me to prove myself before you pass judgment. Age means nothing at the end of the day. Actions and words do however. Some individuals who are advanced in their age have less sense than some who are younger than I. Age should not be a factor. I have been raised to take over ruling my home planet and I surely hope I am experienced enough to represent it right now.

| I see no particular issue with Ms. Motour's age. On Brentaal, nobles of the ruling houses are vigorously schooled, and I myself was made trade representative to the Darpa Sector when I was only 19. At that time, I spoke 3 languages and had already negotiated favorable terms for my world in the famous Brentaal/Esseles trade dispute. Whether the educational institutions on Volus are as renowned as the Brentaal Commerce Academy, or the University of Coruscant, where I also studied, or the Imperial Institute of Higher Studies, where I also studied, I can only wonder. But the point, as I see it, is that whether Ms. Motour is competent to represent Volus is a determination to be made by Volus, not by us (unless she demonstrates to us some deformity in her reasoning, which I do not see here).

| Miss Motour, it is with regrettable circumstances that you have been pushed into this situation, and I am saddened by Senator Star's downfall. Please relay my regards and wishes for the best to her. With that said, I agree with Senator Cambrist on age not being an issue, and welcome her in the Senate.
