This is a clear case of nepotism. This is an act made directly to influence a family member. I vote against. They qualify for benefits and bonuses still, but I simply do not see that they are eligible to vote.

If we allow cyborgs who are substantially non human to vote, why not allow droids to vote?

Frankly, I like this act, I like its purpose. I do feel that it contrasts with the Imperial Proclamation stating "Beings with neural enhancements are to be excluded from Imperial Citizenship", how does Senator Zarcaine justify a piece of legislation which seems to directly conflict with the will of the Emperor?

Perhaps Senator Zarcaine would see fit to withdrawing his own act (which contrasts with Imperial Proclamation, which we cannot alter), and vote in favour of my own Disabled Veterans Restoring of Voting Rights Act which Addresses the problem, but in a physical rather than legal way (often much easier) by simply offering these unfortunates organic replacements for robotic prostheses.

Senator Zarcaine has only recently been taken to task by the Senate for his unmitigated and unwarranted criticism of the Imperial Military. I suppose in the circumstances it is understandable for him to wish to make it up to them by proposing an act regarding them. He has shown his traditional lack of regard for the Institution of the Empire by proposing an act which disagrees (as you say) with Imperial Proclamation.

I must also hasten to add once more. This is not truly an act to benefit poor benighted veterans of the Empire, it is an act to benefit Senator Zarcaine's cousin, Moff Verilia and extend to him a vote.

The original bill having been apparently withdrawn from the Senate record, and the chair having not had an opportunity to review it, it would appear the measure is indeed withdrawn and the vote closed. Senators are of course free to withdraw their proposals but in the future, Senator Kuriyoshi, kindly don't do so from the Senate record, which is in the public domain and free for Senators to comment upon and discuss without deference to the sensibilities or intent of the author.
