| CENSURE OF SENATOR ORDAN
Greetings,
I would like to officially censure Senator Ordan for his abuse of authority. Specifically, sending Anaxes planetary fleet to establish an illegal blockade on the planet. Senator Ordan claimed he was acting in protest of the incidents over at Monor II. That was not the worst part. The worst was the results. The blockade resulted in deaths of millions of the natives on Aeeq. Yes, my reports indicated that a rogue planetoid had collided with the planet. Senator Ordan had allowed millions of people fend to their own fate for his own profit.
Thus, I propose that Ordan's punishment should be to return every single credit or any other assets that were seized over the blockade to every single survivor of Aeeq, in addition to 1 million credits be fined toward Anaxes planetary fleet, of which would go toward the relocation efforts for the survivors.
I would also like to extend that Telosian government has complied with my request and effective immediately, the natives of Aeeq are welcomed to be housed temporarily on Telos IV.
It is a sad day when one choose profits over millions of people.
Tremaine Fowlkes Senator of Telos IV

| Senator Fowlkes,
You are talking utter nonsense. A protest action was mounted over Aeeq, blockades are a legal form of protest for worlds to use and posed no harm to the locals.
The Axum System never has and never will have a duty of care for the people of Aeeq, there was never a local defense force (which presumably would have stopped intervention) and they were free to call for Imperial Aid. Aeeq did not call for Imperial Aid, Aeeq did not attempt to request that we demolished this rogue planetoid, on withdrawal of our protest our ships left the system in accordance with law, as we were not requested to return we cannot be expected to do anything else.
Naturally, I vote against.
I should also add that despite being given every ability to do so, Aeeq did not attempt to protest our protest over their world, neither did they approach us through diplomatic channels to open a dialogue, neither did they protest to the Empire - it can only be concluded that these inept rulers cared little for our protest or the fate of their people.
We have dispatched a probe to the Aeeq system, it indicates the chance of there being any survivors is roughly zero, had there been an ability to rescue locals we would have done - when our protest left we were under impression the locals would use the weeks at their disposal to call in an Imperial ship - the fact they did not is surely a reason to move against any members of their government they can find.
What evidence do you have of causation? I see none. My system bears no guilt and no responsibility for these actions. While this is a sad accident, if we must place blame it is on the Aeeqi Government.
You blame me for the tragic comet which destroyed Aeeq - I should add that this was not an act which profited the Axum System - Why would we want to destroy them? They are not our enemies.
Furthermore, your motion is misleading and false, I must warn you Senator Fowlkes that you are flirting with slander in your unwarranted and uncalled for attacks upon the good and patriotic people of my system.
If I protested outside a public building then left, it would not make me responsible if a truck crashed into it a week later - how is this different?
The protest was withdrawn leaving over a week to call for help, either from us or others - We would have been happy to give it, we bore no ill will towards the locals. The protest was specifically withdrawn in order to allow the locals to coordinate evacuation better (without any problems from us), and so they could have clear airwaves to send messages out - It is none of our fault that they opted not to do so.
I would also like to add that our protest caused little impact upon the lives of the locals. If the survivors believe they have a case then I will see them in court, if not, then lets stop this ridiculous ad hominem attack on myself and get back to actually important business...

| Aeeq had a responsibility to use its Senate position to represent its interests. The Government also had one. This failure represents the greatest blunder caused by incompetence in modern times.
I believe the blockade is wrong, but I can't vote for a motion which ascribes responsibility wrongly.
If we are to sanction Anaxes for this blockade, let us do so in a motion discussing the morality and legal standing of the blockade, but it is the Aeeqi Government that needs to be called to account for its inaction, and its representatives likewise. I also do not see that taking action against the Anaxsi Senator (rather than their Government) is the wrong way to go about it.
If they did not oppose the blockade - fine, small scale masochism is not a crime. But what is a crime is allowing their world to be destroyed and not requesting aid when a ship could have easily been dispatched by neighbors or the Empire from the locality and could have deflected the planetoid in question. I think this stands as a testament to the immorality and massive consequences of inaction by Government.
I vote against the motion to Censure Senator Ordan (for now) but call for a debate to be held about the background to the blockade so that the Senate might be better informed and make their minds up about if legal or legislative action is appropriate.

| The only thing that the Anaxes Senator should be on trial for, is having a planet that creates beautiful women!!! I vote against this useless red tape act, as the Senator of the rat infested world of Telos is known for!!!!! I also call that re-reimbursement fees be paid, in full to the Government of Anaxes, for going through horrible and terrible accusations!!! AGAINST!!!

| A blockade is indeed a legal form of protest, and in the case of the Anaxsi blockade, it is one that Aeeq's government never objected to. Rather than assigning blame to Anaxes, I find it far more damning that the government of Aeeq did not call for assistance. Its senator graces us with her presence each day (in theory, at least) but not a single word was said to us of Aeeq's predicament. It appears that in its final days, Aeeq's government was more concerned with "dividing the spoils" among itself rather than helping its people to escape the destruction of their world (I find it unlikely the collision could have been prevented, but an evacuation plan could and should have been put in place). I concur with Senator Ordan that the blame is not his alone, to the extent it's his at all.

| I vote against this. The real tragedy of Aeeq is that its human population was held hostage to an incompetent alien government. Would have been nice if Hubert could have evacuated some of the humans from the planet, but the point is it wasnt his problem, it was Aeeq's problem and Aeeq failed its people. We should be censuring the senator of Aeeq for hiding behind those ridiculous masks she wears while her planet needed her. At least Hubert was at Aeeq.. No one knows where Aeeq's senator is. Maybe she should have to sell some of those expensive dresses of hers she buys with the salary she collects for doing nothing in the senate to raise money for her people.

| Senators, this is a perfect example of a world in power bullying a smaller world into submitting. Aeeq is a perfectly innocent world that Anaxes had chosen to establish a blockade. If this was actually a protest, then why wouldn't Ordan go to the source of his objection? The blockade may be legal, but it is definitely immoral. Certainly, some of the blame shoulder on Aeeq government's inactivity. But it also doesn't mean Ordan's planetary fleet should just drop by a smaller world and lay siege whenever he feels like it.
Senator Tu'Rot, your proposal is far more far-fetched than my own. Because you are new to the galactic politics, I am going to let you off the hook this time but here's a tip: Put in more efforts into planning a proposal before throwing one out.
Senator Oswaldt, why am I not surprised to see you spout all that crap here? I understand your resentment toward the non-humans, but I'm certainly the government of Aeeq doesn't have every position handed to one that isn't a human. That's rather far-fetched as well. I understand the inactivity of their government, but there is no reason to twist this into holier than thou debate. I don't know how bigotry is embraced on your world, but I am certain it is not acceptable here. Despite the Human High Culture, I believe we should all be equal. This is not actions of non-humans, but rather inaction of a planetary government.
Again, even if Aeeq wasn't collided with a rogue planetoid, we still should put Ordan into the spotlight for his blockade. How many people would suffer famine because supplies cannot reach the planet? How many people cannot defend themselves because weaponry are in limited supply? How many people died because medical treatments did not arrive in time for rescue?
Their blood is on Ordan's hands!

| Senator, I don't know if this is how you talk to the people of Acherin but we're all adults here and I think I speak for most of us from Imperialists to Republicans when I say we're tired of these tantrums of yours. Stop acting like a 2-year-old and get with the program, man. You're a Senator.
As for this measure, I agree with Senator Terrawin the legal status of a blockade is something that needs to be clarified so that shameful episodes like the one at Aeeq can't happen again. Anaxes hasn't been forthcoming about what it did at Aeeq, but the extent to which it impeded transit to and from the planet in its most desperate hour is becoming slowly, but surely known to us. That the people of Aeeq were prevented from escaping the destruction of the planet and ships from other worlds were preventing from helping them to do so is, if true, one of the most sadistic episodes that I know of in history.
No blockade to supposedly protest an injustice, as Senator Ordan claims, should be so greater an injustice than the one it's protesting—especially when the planet being blockaded isn't a party to this injustice in the first place.

| These are no tantrums, Senator Fightsadrunk! This is my speaking in a very charismatic voice with volume. Sure my words may seem childish, but I don't believe you asked me any questions when I wanted in the Empire. Acherin since joining the Empire has been very prosperous, and it will remain as such.

| Senator Tu'rot, I agree with Senator Fitzgerald that your tantrums and behavior are not conducive towards resolving any of these issues. I call upon the Chair to call Senator Tu'rot to order as he cannot master himself. If he persists in further outbursts, I will have no choice by to call for a censure. If you can behave yourself, Senator, we will likely forget this... annoyance. If not, I am sure Acherin would be just as prosperous with another Senator representing it.

| That is....incredibly inappropriate, Mr. Tu'Rot, as well as very unbecoming decorum for an Imperial Senator. I second the motion for the chair to call the Senator of Acherin to order. Based solely on the outbursts displayed in senate in your short tenure here, I would have no choice but support Senator Ryuun's censure, should it come to fruition.

| Before we turn this into a circus, I recommend that the Grand Vizier call Senator Tu'Rot to order for his comments and for his inappropriate body language. This is about the Censure of Senator Ordan, and we would do very well not to divert.
