| Thank you, Grand Vizier, for allowing me to present this report on behalf of the Kingdom of Deralia. Delegates of the Senate, I am Major Cesare Greco of the Deralian Special Forces, and I report to you from the Caluulan forward command center. My team was deployed on Caluula to observe the civil unrest on the planet, to ensure that the local government and insurgent forces followed the law and that there was no undue foreign influence. Unfortunately, this crisis could not go without such. For at least a day, we've seen a Cronese special forces team operating with the ethnic Cronese insurgents on Caluula. Following questionable attempts by the Cronese to land a medical team on the planet, utilizing craft which were not marked in accordance with recognized Imperial law as medical vessels. We are attempting at this moment to secure the crash sites of these craft for evidence collection.
While this landing occurred, Cronese craft dropped supplies into the occupied Caluulan assembly hall, which are of a varied nature but according to reports from Caluulan reconnaissance teams and our own forward recon element, it appears the Cronese have supplied arms to the ethnic Cronese insurgents, a clear escalation of this affair. Up until a moment ago, the Deralian flagship, the modified Venator-class Star Destroyer Ops, entered high orbit over Caluula, identifying the entirety of the 101st Mandate Fleet in full combat with the Caluulan Defense Force. Once we began providing internal defense assistance to the Caluulan government, at their request, the Cronese Mandate has appeared to have retreated, abandoning their commando team on the ground.
Before joining my planet's forces, I was an Imperial Army Commando; before that, I had served in the Grand Army of the Republic. I have seen years of combat, and I am experienced. There is no doubt in my mind that this was an attempt at an invasion of Caluula by the Cronese Mandate in support of the uprising of their ethnic minority on the planet, as their fleet had drastically increased from previous "relief" efforts and were enacting aggressively in a textbook rapid dominance planetary invasion strategy. While this main invasion force appears to have been, despite having the advantage, forced into retreat, there is still a Cronese special forces team providing unconventional warfare leadership and assistance to the ethnic Cronese insurgents.
We will attempt to find out more information, as we can, however we are limited by the Caluulan battleplan, which is to give the insurgents time to surrender and after expiration of that window, it is the intention of the Caluulans to bomb their captured Assembly Hall, killing the Cronese commandos and what is likely the bulk of the insurgent forces, including their leadership. It is unfortunate that the Cronese interfered and have exacerbated this crisis further, however it appears, on the ground, unless the Cronese make another attempt at invasion, that this crisis will come to a close soon... whether or not that is with massive loss of life is up to the ethnic Cronese insurgents. | Thank you, Grand Vizier, for granting Major Greco the floor for a report from the front lines. I think we can all appreciate a first-person look at any crisis. And thank you, Major Greco, for a fine report to this body. Deralia stands against blatant imperialism and fascism, which has become clear in the Cronese Mandate. There is a clear difference between defending your people, who have been attacked, and attempting to overthrow a legitimate government on a foreign world when your people on that world revolt. It is possible there is some legitimacy to the insurgent grievance, but it is almost assured now that the views of this opposing minority will not be heard and are now shunned into extremism. The ethnic Cronese on Caluula have likely lost their legitimacy as part of the population and are likely to see massive loss of life in a pointless insurgency, thanks to Cronese intervention and provocation. I ask that the Senate stand unified in this unfortunate crisis against the actions of the Cronese Mandate.

| This report from Caluula is troubling indeed. While the departure of Cronese ships from the planet seems to have brought about the resolution of the crisis—or will in the hours to come, if this Major and Mr. Krenn of Caluula liberate the assembly building as promised—the Empire will look closely at the actions of the Cronese Mandate in this crisis to determine whether A.) it intentionally exacerbated the crisis, as some have claimed, and B.) whether these actions violated the Ruling Council's prohibition on Cronese use of force on Caluula. This prohibition will be declassified this evening and available for public scrutiny. But this is a matter for the Empire and its courts to decide, so let us move on, Senators.
