| A Bill Providing Injunction Authority to the Defense and Commerce Committees
The Senate Defense and Commerce Committees shall have the authority to issue temporary injunctions to prevent a planet from enforcing a law or expending funds for the purpose of enforcing a law or carrying out a transaction that is "under review" of the Committee in question. These injunctions shall be subject to the discretion of the courts, which shall determine whether the law or transaction "under review" is within the purview of the Committee in question and whether the duration of the injunction is reasonable and proportionate to the time needed for review.
I vote in favor.

| Empress Teta votes in favor of this bill. We believe it provides the committees with a stronger capability to adequately discharge their duties.

| I know this bill is for the intent of good. But who's better to say what's best for the planet trying to pass the bill? The planetary government and it's occupants? or people that have never been to most of these planet's and have no idea what it's like there?
I must vote against.

| The Imperial Galactic Senate is to help improve the galaxy under imperial law, or do it's best. I agree with the fact that the defense committee and commerce committee should have some say in bills to pass through planet's. However, have you ever taken into consideration over all the planet's there are in our senate? Why their offices would be backed up for a good 4-5 month's before they get a bill passed that was needed 3 months ago... at least that's how I see it would be.

| I see no problem with this. A "waiting period" and review of warship purchases is a pitifully small step towards the elimination of warships in this galaxy, but it does no harm. We do the same thing for blasters, so why not for a miles long warship bristling with weapons of death? Force forbid we inconvenience a planet that's in a rush to destroy another planet, but I think this is quite literally the least we can do. Naboo is in favor.

| Senator Youngblood, you ask who's to say what's in a planet's best interest? The planet, obviously. But what we're dealing with here is what's in all planets' interests, and that's where the Defense Committee—the Planetary Defense Committee, I remind you—comes in. It does exactly what you say it should; it considers all planets that are in the Senate and whether a planet's acquisition of a war fleet could be destabilizing to the region, or other regions, etc. These generally aren't things that the planet itself is going to consider. Look at Deralia.
