| The Senate knows that I believe planets should be empowered to defend themselves against these sorts of threats, but I'm opposed to vigilantism. And no world should be made dependent on its neighbors for its security. This measure would invest the force of law in planetary ships without any standards of conduct. I mean no disrespect to Senator Ordan, with whom I happen to agree on this, but does anyone doubt that Anaxes will use its "deputized" ships to blockade any world it pleases, wearing the veil of "anti-rebel," "anti-separatist," "anti-anarchist," or "anti-terrorist" respectability this bill would bestow on it? In this session of the Senate or the next, I'm opposed to this.
