| Gentlebeings, we come to the close of this year's session of the Senate. On behalf of the Emperor, I commend those of you who have supported the Empire in this chamber and advanced the Emperor's agenda for this year. That agenda was comprised of 5 legislative priorities; 1.) a condemnation of Mon Mothma, 2.) a repeal of the Unknown Alien Encounters orders, 3.) the sale of Clone Wars surplus ships to Imperial worlds, 4.) an ultimatum to the planet Carratos, setting a firm example for treasonous worlds, and 5.) funding for Alien Protection Zones here on Imperial Center. All of this has been accomplished, thanks, in particular, to former Senator Veritas of Deralia, Senator Ryuun of Druckenwell, Senator North of Imperial Center, and Senator Oswaldt of Eriadu. These Senators have also led on the issues of "Jedi negation," education reform, and keeping biological weapons and other weapons of mass destruction out of incapable hands.
I would also be remiss not to commend Senator Oriel of Vjun for being the most prolific Senator over this last year, having proposed more measures than anyone else. Senator Cambrist of Brentaal is deserving of an honorable mention for having proposed the second most. The Emperor is impressed by the legislative accomplishments of these two gentlemen, who have been rewarded with the respective chairs of the Defense Committee and the Commerce Committee. Senator Ordan of Anaxes, and Senators Oswaldt and Ryuun, are also among the most accomplished Senators and they, too, enjoy respective positions on the Defense and Ethics Committees. Let these men be an example for you all.
The Emperor is also grateful to all of you for addressing difficult issues, such as the regulation of capital ships, a vigorous debate that included 6 proposals over many months, from Senator Oriel, Senator Cambrist, Senator Star of Volus, and Senator Goodchild of the Cronese Mandate.
I personally am grateful to the Senate for having defended its reputation from the thoughtless remarks of its more intemperate (at times, even treasonous) members. This year, there have been resolutions to censure Senator Kuriyoshi of the Cronese Mandate, Senator Cerra of Garos IV, Senator Fowlkes of Telos IV, Senator Star of Volus, and Representative Crion of the Tapani Freeworlds. Senators Kuriyoshi and Star, and Representative Crion, are no longer with us. I hope the others have learned from these censures and that they and all Senators shall respect the dignity of the Senate in the following session. The Emperor and myself will expect great things from you all, and so will the people you represent.
With that, this session of the Senate is gaveled to a close.
We shall re-convene in the week following the Empire's 10-year anniversary celebrations.
