Fellow beings, it is my pleasure to be here today in the great halls of the Imperial Senate. Argazda humbly begs admittance so that our small world may be joined with those greater, for the good of the Empire.

Prime Minister, Argazda

Isn't there traditionally one Senator from the Kanz Sector?

Verence Terrawin

Senator of Alsakan

During the Clone Wars, the Kanz Sector was represented by a single senator. Times change though, Senator Terrawin.

And the population of Argazdia is around a billion - the population of Lorrd is around a billion..

If we're being generous, two billion sentients.. lets assume maybe 10 billion across the Sector?

Why are 10 billion people entitled to a second Senator?

With Argazda's useful location - would the world consider allowing core worlds to use it's heliosphere for shipping lane patrol emplacements? Naturally, this would only serve to secure your world from Pirates and Vagabonds who ply the more distant parts of the Outer Rim.

Senator Hubert Ordan

Senator Terrawin, the Kanz Sector has far more than ten billion sentients, I believe. There is no reason why Argazda should not have a senator of its own. Nobody in the Kanz Sector asked Alyn Stark to represent them, aside from the Lorrdians.

Senator Ordan, Argazda would consider it at this time, but we make no promises or deals quite yet.

Examining the Imperial Census maps of the area it seems that the only planets with populations approaching a billion are both of yours.

Explain to me Senator, should Alsakan have a thousand seats?

I think the issue should be one for the Sector - there ought to be an elected Sector Senator - not two Senators from two small worlds.

The Ereesus Sector alone has more than two billion, Senator Terrawin. I'd call it fair enough that Argazda holds its own seat.

I can't see why Alsakan should have more than one. It's one world. You're the senator of Alsakan. Is this some form of joke on your world?

It's somewhat of a contentious issue on my world. Over a trillion people live there.. yet one Senate seat.. would you support a vote to create multiple senatorial constituencies on Alsakan?

If I may, Senator, a world is a world, regardless of the number of people upon it. If multiple worlds choose a single representative, such as Senator Ryuun holds, then that is their choice. If an entire sector chooses a representative, then that is their choice. If a world is large enough to merit Senate representation, a world such as ours, with over a billion Argazdans, then it is quite fair we be allowed it.

If you had to place a figure on it - how many beings would equate to one Senator.

And you evaded my question - would you support multiple Senators being elected from Alsakan?

It is not my place to figure out how many sentients are worthy of one senator. There are worlds out there with many sentients but no representation, and there are smaller worlds who have a senator.

As for multiple senators from Alsakan, it would make no point. Multiple senators from one world would simply confuse matters.

And multiple Senators from one Sector is not confusing?

Why are you dressed like an Argazdan slave lord from the days of yore? While I find dressing in ancient fashions amusing, it's not really the done thing. I mean, you're wearing a costume more commonly associated with genocide than anything else? What next? dressing as a Jedi?

( Minus the fact that no pictures of Argazdans I've found do not have the slave lord look.)

Multiple senators from one system would be confusing; not from one sector.

As for my mode of dress, I find it comfortable. The Empire, I believe, still utilizes slavers, and the Argazdan Slavers Guild holds a hand alongside many others in supplying the Empire with those who help construct what must be built.

Mr. Snar!!!

Draken Tu'Rot, Governor-General of Acherin!!! Obviously your loyalty lies with the Empire, or else you would not grace us with your presence here today!

My question is a simple but important one; what Imperial agendas do you seek to ensure become laws/mandates?!!
