We learned this week that former Senator Fowlkes is not dead as we had all suspected, and that he has reappeared with intent to wage war on the peace-loving people of the Empire. The Empire was, however, aware of the Senator's "Libs" organization; indeed, individuals are already in custody and the Empire is moving at this hour to disrupt and dismantle this network of traitors. I call upon the Senate to declare its support for the Empire's prosecution of Senator Fowlkes and his "Libs" organization, and I call in particular upon Representative Vanden, Senator Thanatos, and Senator Terrawin, who eulogized Mr. Fowlkes, to now repudiate this man who has betrayed the trust of the Senate and the people of Telos IV and the galaxy.

Grand Vizier, while I admit that what Mr. Fowlkes has done is a very wrong and traitorous act, I cannot withdraw the words I said about him in the past. He was my friend, and I thought he was dead. But what he has done is so much worse, that I wish that I could just believe that he is still dead. I wish I could remember more than just the person I saw last, more about who he was before my uhm...well, just before. Maybe somehow this all could have been prevented.

The Empire will do what they must to stop him, and I understand that.

I echo most of what Senator Thanatos has said. Violence isn't the answer, and I'm as surprised as anyone to find Tremaine fashioning himself as some sort of warlord. He's not the Tremaine Fowlkes I knew, and I think he's wrong.

Would the Chair be amenable to a motion to place (at the Senate's expense) a Death Mark on Tremaine Fowlkes?

I also propose we consider proscribing his associates, family and political party - We must rip out the rot on Telos IV before it spreads like Cancer..

While I am not opposed to a death mark being placed on the head of Tremaine Fowlkes, perhaps proscribing his associates and family and whatnot may be a bit extreme; there's no evidence they actually acted in part with his treason. They bear watching, of course, and an interrogation is likely necessary, but let's not be too hasty.

If I may be quite blunt, Representative: bollocks. While normally, Senator Ordan's views might well be repugnant to myself, I find this item in question to be rather clear cut. Leaf, branch and root must be cut out from what Fowlkes had built. We can't risk the new Senator-elect being poisoned by the words of a traitorous adviser who might be left over and hiding in wait.

The Fowlkes-era government of Telos IV has been dismantled due to its incompetence in the face of terrorism. President Thon and other associates of Tremaine Fowlkes have been removed from the government. Governor Vordt is also preparing a purge of the Telosian Security Force, Imperial Intelligence having identified some members of the force as sympathetic to Fowlkes. Rest assured, Senators, there is no risk of "rot" on Telos IV under its new and quite capable Imperial administration.

Before we move on, Senator Terrawin, I think it is incumbent upon you in particular to repudiate Tremaine Fowlkes here in the same venue in which you recently eulogized him. The people of Alsakan no doubt demand that you set the record straight.

Incidentally, I can additionally report that a spate of Imperial military operations against Mr. Fowlkes's so called "Libs" network have apparently been quite successful. This information is preliminary, however. A full statement will be released tomorrow.

After a full consultation with my legal aid, I would like to clarify my position. I believe that Senator Fowlkes memorably did work for a long time in the cause of his fellow sentient. However, to turn to these seemingly bizarre actions; sponsoring terrorism, faking his death, with little attempt at justification speaks to me more of an extremely ill man than an evil one. I urge the Empire to show Tremaine Fowlkes a degree of concern as well as wrath or swift execution of Justice. His rebellion (marked as it was with irrational acts of faking his death only to return for little propaganda purpose) really does speak of a man experiencing paranoid psychotic episodes than a sincere political motivation of any kind.

Tremaine. You're not well. Please hand yourself in to an officer of law enforcement or a mental health specialist. I sincerely believe that you're unwell and that while you may feel frustration with the Empire, faking your death and becoming the leader of a group little better than pirates (and reportedly working with genocidal Separatists?). Surely if you see the Empire as evil you cannot help but see your allies as a far worse evil. What did you do to the crew of the ship you captured? Free them? Execute them? Enslave them? Give them to your Separatist friends?

I know you believe yourself an idealist, a freedom fighter perhaps? Look in the mirror I beg you; ask yourself if you have become the antithesis of all you ever used to stand for.

The chair is satisfied with your statement, Senator Terrawin. Considering that there appear to be widespread doubts about Mr. Fowlkes' mental health, the Empire may be willing to assign Fowlkes to the Vjun Rehabilitation Center, which specializes in cases like his. Naturally, this would depend on Mr. Fowlkes turning himself in. I'm confident that one way or another he'll soon be Imperial custody. In the meantime, let us move on to other matters.
