"Of course, Mr. Motour. You understand that if I am taking a personal hand in the investigation, it is a serious matter. Captain Proul and his aides will handle the financial portion, as I mentioned, as well as speaking with some of your senior staff. It will be as unobtrusive as possible to ensure that the day-to-day running of Volus is not tampered with. The last thing, Mr. Motour, that I wish to do is give any insurgents a gap in which to force their way through. All in all, I feel you run a tight ship, to borrow the naval term.

"One part I will be handling personally are the interviews with your personal aides, if you don't mind. As well, I'd like to speak with Senator Star at the earliest convenience. I know she is a busy woman, but do let her know this matter should take precedence before any issues on Imperial Center."

If the king had nothing more to do, Deschain would bid him good day and continue back to the spaceport. His vehicle, as always, would be meticulously checked over for sabotage, explosives or tracking beacons before he entered and requested clearance to head to the battleship.

---

Deschain was in high orbit when the mighty Star Destroyer emerged above Volus. It was a sight that swelled his pride. The Empire and all its glory could be represented by a single vessel of such magnitude and power; capable of leveling cities and even burning a planet. When he heard the transmission, broadcast to the Volusian control in the open, it confirmed the identity of the passenger: Admiral Corvus. This was good, as their paths could cross early. Toggling the comm and waiting for the Volusian control to respond, he sent his own message.

"Admiral Corvus, this is Imperial Security Agent Deschain aboard the Dark Spirit. I request a formal meeting with you on board the Avenger as soon as possible."

"I will pass the message along to her." he said with a slight nod showing that he would be completely cooperative with any investigation that the inquisitor wished to waste his time with. If his guess was correct the source wouldn't exactly be a credible one, a drugged-up delirious jedi wasn't actually a good source to start an investigation with.

The ship was clean of any tampering except the standard refueling which had been done for the inquisitor.

"Inquisitor you are cleared for approach to the Avenger and we are forwarding the approach vectors now."
----------------------------------------------------------------

Ground control would reply to the Star Destroyer immediately at its signal.

"Star Destroyer Singularity, this is Volusian ground control. We are forwarding you approach vectors now to both the palace and the Avenger. You are authorized for approach." The reply was short and at the request the Avenger would begin to open its forward doors so that the inquisitor would be allowed to land and so that the Admiral would be allowed inside of the ship.

((Sorry about the wait, fellas))

Upon the transmission from Deschain, the Azure Nova would warm up her engines. The moment the transmission from Volus came, the Shuttle lifted up and gracefully floated out of the secondary hangar. When it passed through the mag locks and reverted to its artificial gravity, Corvus always felt a slight vertigo during that moment of no gravity. Although he was an insular man, and few knew this, he was human, and he did enjoy the feeling. To be honest, every aspect of the Navy, he loved. He also strove to embody the Navy itself. As a Admiral, he felt there was no other way to serve than by the utmost example. He practiced military drill, made sure he could do a perfect physical fitness test despite being in his 50s, and the growing trend of several Imperial officers of all branches and services to be overweight and out of shape, and he was an honorable man, but ruthless and cold when necessary. He would execute a man if he had to, but tried to avoid it if possible. He would bombard a planet, but preferred to let the Stormtroopers have their fun. He would attack civilian targets, justifying it with the fact that they were traitors to the Empire but giving them to quickest deaths possible.

Today, he had to be cold, to Volus at least. It was displeasing that priates were able to run so many sorties against an Imperial world, let alone penetrate deep into the system, and perpetrate a multiple target operation. Either the group was extremely determined, or something else was going on here. To Corvus, it was something else. Whether or not a plot from outside or within Volus, he could not say... but being cold and menacing towards the Volusians and their leadership would make it clear. He gave thought to the possibilities, why things were happening the way they were, what the goals could be. He didn't survive the Clone Wars, nor rise to his level of rank, without being weary, or cautious. He thought on the situation as he rode into the Avenger's hangar bay. The TIEs would break off shooting down both sides of the Avenger, before heading back over to the Singularity to remain in an orbit pattern.
