After the events of Move Against Volus

Due to logistical needs, Rath Deschain arrived several days prior to the company of Purifiers he'd ordered to Volus. The Dark Spirit, his modified Sentinel landing craft, emerged a respectful distance from Volusian borders and immediately transmitted his security access code. This was the tricky part. If the Volusian people were anti-Imperial, this would be the place for an ambush that could be claimed as mistaken identification. Deschain had the feeling their anti-Jedi sentiments at the moment would keep them in line. For the time being, he was much looking forward to meeting the Jedi captive they had.

If allowed, he would bring his craft into Volusian atmosphere and land as close to the Volusian Royal Palace as possible.

"Dark Spirit, this is ground control, you have been approved for approach on vector 17. The coordinates are being sent to you now." A female voice echoed over the comm to Rath's ship. The coordinates would lead him along the ground skimming over a mountain range before coming to a valley at the bottom of which would be the Imperial Palace. Miles away the flickering lights of a city could be seen but far enough that the government could operate in peace without the hustle and bustle of a city interfering with the members of the government.

As he got closer it would be obvious that he was being led into a large building laid out against the ground with 6 towers rising up from the sides, 3 on each side, and it would be from one of them that the comm signal he had received had originated. His approach would lead him over a large field of panels laid out to absorb the sunlight and generate power and to the far end of the building where there would be a large hanger. It was big enough to easily accommodate two CR90's plus various other ships and with both of those ships elsewhere there was plenty of room available in the hanger bay.

The ship would be allowed to land without any problems other than piloting and once it was settled down Rath would likely notice a group waiting for him to descend from his ship. At the head of the group would be a man dressed in a fine suit the others were each in military uniform, pressed and at attention. They had decided to not hold him up but rather to work with him and make his visit as easy as possible.

As the loading ramp extended to allow Deschain access to the dock, the men awaiting him would be given a rare opportunity few had: a brief look into his vessel. Perhaps foremost, they might notice the human skull, well polished and preserved, that was mounted quite in the style of a trophy, near the controls that extended and raised the ramp. Deschain was eccentric in some ways, after all. The glimpse would be brief, for the ramp closed as he set foot on the earth again.

His appearance was as it always had been: menacing and dangerous. Half of his battles were won by mind games more than anything, hence the odd modes of dress and acting.

"Gentlemen, I thank you for the warm Volusian welcome. I will cut to the chase as quickly as possible to spare you lost time for your duties. Volus is an Imperial world. Volus is besieged by pirates and, as I have heard, Jedi.

Volus is not happy. This means the Empire is not happy, which in turn, means I was sent here to remedy that. Now, pirates are nothing to be underestimated, but the involvement of Jedi reeks of something under the surface. I wish to see this Jedi, quickly."

The man in the center would be the first to react. He would appear to be the youngest in the group around his mid thirties with brown hair. "Welcome to Volus, Inquisitor." he said respectfully nodding at the inquisitors desire. "We have him sedated in a specially made detention cell..this way." he said moving to head on towards an awaiting vehicle about the size of a golf cart with a single driver already waiting. It wasn't big enough for the entire group to come along so it would appear to Rath that it would just be him, the king and the driver.

As soon as they were loaded on the craft it would take off heading away from the hanger bay. As they drove Rath would notice that the place was bustling with far more civilians than a simple palace should have been, of course the building itself had been much too large for a simple palace. Instead it was a seat of government and command center.

Anja saw the ship come in from one of the towers, she was running late this morning and was suppose to be down on the ground with her father. She would curse softly to herself as she slipped on her left heel and took off running down the stairs, the emerald green gown flowing around her as her golden hair trails behind her, the light Volusian breeze catching it, blowing it back off of her face. Anja was very faired skin, something that was believed to have been a trait of her mother, though she never truly knew the woman.

Anja knew where they would be heading she was just hoping she could reach the outer doors to where the Jedi was being kept before her father did with their guest. She had wanted to go to Coruscant, to the Imperial Center to meet some other leaders, to get her feet wet a bit but it had been decided that she would remain on Volus for a bit longer. Anja would reach the outer door before Loton and Rath, as she fixed her gown a bit and her hair, smiling to one of the younger guards down there, “How do I look?” she would ask in a soft voice.

He would just smile and nods his head “Like a Princess your majesty.”

Anja would just smile as she waited.

Deschain was silent for a portion of the drive, choosing to look around. The capitol was a spawling city, defensible, but not hardened. If a rebel ground assault did occur, the Purifiers should be more than capable of holding their own. A space battle was more difficult to deal with; Deschain had not requested additional vessels save the transport ships.

"Has the Jedi had any contact with any of your people? Or has a preliminary interrogation not been conducted? Any information you can give me speeds my job up."

Loton glanced over at the inquisitor for a moment. "We haven't had a suspect to interrogate as the others committed suicide by blowing up the freighter." He would pull out a datapad moving to pass it over to Deschain. "These are the logs and reports from the incident in question. I had them classified at the top level until you and the empire could view them." he informed the inquisitor.

"The jedi has been kept sedated since the attack as such there has been almost no contact between him and any person on Volus. Unless you count medical personnel making sure he was kept alive and guards making sure he didn't rouse and escape." He explained. The driver would make a few turns before pulling to a stop outside an area. Deschain would see a single door with nearly two squads of soldiers nearby in clear battle gear along with two Volusian vehicle. Both had large weapons on top, one akin to an E-web torrent and the other a rocket launcher. Clearly the Volusians were taking no chance what-so-ever as the jedi escaping.

Loton would climb out of the transport glancing over to his daughter for a second a look inquiring as to why she was late but nothing more.

Deschain perused the datapad for a brief moment and then handed it back to the king. The papers were concurrent with everything Deschain had already read; despite Motour's assumption that things were highly classified, Deschain had clearance that reached to the Emperor's feet, and what he could not gain by clearance, he could often convince others to share with him. An ambitious man, Deschain, he knew his limits and he kept in good graces by his service record. "This data is in order, Mr. Motour. I do not need to read through them again.

"It is wise you have had the Jedi secluded. I would have security personnel watch over any beings who directly came into contact with the man. Force-users can fake effects of sedation. For your sake, I can only hope he is truly sedated and not playing a game. You will know if he is when I see him."

As the transport came to a stop, Deschain took a moment to glance at the female. Her lineage was obvious by her chin and cheekbones; she was the Princess of Volus. She was also not a ranking power in Deschain's eyes and it was for that reason and not sexism that he ignored her for now. His attention was drawn instead to the soldiers who stood guard around the secured building.

"Let us get this over with."

"Only two squads, Mr. Motour? The heavy weapons are sufficient, but a Jedi with half a brain would turn those men against your own first. When dealing with Jedi, you need two men for every man who deals directly with the Jedi, in case that man must be put down." It was a bit of a falsehood, but one had to tak precautions when dealing with Jedi.

Anja would glance to her father for a moment, giving him an apologetic smile, as her eyes rested on Deschain’s form as she looked the man over, studying him. She preferred to be unnoticed, it made it easier for her to truly study the situation, to watch what was going on around her. It was how she learned. She knew that everything would not be given, she would need to infer things, feelings.

Anja would move into step besides her father, not saying anything at the moment. She had yet to see this jedi and had been doing a bit of research on them, one of the reasons why she was late.

Loton gave his daughter a weak smile in return before glancing over at Deschain. "Well, two squads plus the thermal detonators we've rigged his medical room with to explode at the earliest sign of trouble." he explained. "We have also taken his weapon, it is in my personal safe and as soon as we are finished here I would offer to turn it over to you or another you appoint, Inquisitor." he said calmly glancing back at his daughter motioning subtly for her to stay close to him and not do anything to draw attention to herself.

As soon as they entered the room, Rath would notice the hum of a force shield surrounding the bed of the jedi and would likely notice many of the small devices rigged to go off at the earliest sign of trouble to prevent the jedi from escaping or causing any more harm than he already had.

Ka-Dek was lying asleep, heavily sedated by the drugs used, his breathing low. Dreaming bittersweet dreams of all he had never done but wished to.

"You rigged thermal detonators? A good precaution, but unnecessary now. Please disarm them immediately. Once he is awake, they will be a security hazard more than a preventative measure. The lack of his weapon is a temporary setback; the Force, Mr. Motour, is the ultimate weapon. Fortunately... I am with you today."

Deschain would decline to enter the room until the explosives were disarmed and removed from the immediate premises. Once those wishes were complied with, the High Inquisitor would enter, checking the force cage briefly before nodding to this king.

"Wake him up. Let's see what he knows."

Loton nodded and ordered the soldiers to turn them off and then get the detonators removed. It would take only a short time since they had also put a manual shut down just in case this was needed and soon there would be no explosives in the room allowing them to enter. "Well for all of us who don't have the force we have to make due with what we have." he explained nodding to the medics in the room, both of which had been under guard of a few soldiers. The medics would administer the resuscitative drug to bring the jedi out of his sedated sleep. The medics would move over to a nearby computer bank to monitor vital signs while the soldiers kept a close eye on this jedi even with the field in place.

As he woke up, Ka Dek spoke a few words, being completely psychotic due to an allergy to the drug used to sedate him. His eyes were wide and his pupils dialated as he murmured "The King and the Red Queen, a plot the Imperium to undo.." he said, his eyes locked on Motour, seemingly looking through him. "The ship... plot.. Star..ssssss Red Queen.. Volus in arms.." he murmured incoherently for a few seconds more before jerking suddenly and voiding his bowels with a foul stench as he fell from conciousness once more.

Deschain peered curiously at the now-unconscious Jedi. The Red Queen... that could well be a reference to Senator Crin Star, who often seemed to wear red. Implication of King Motour of the crime of treason was indeed a serious offense. It was something Deschain would need to look into, but for now, he simply filed it away in his memory. The Jedi could well be lying, but the odds of such in a delirious state were small.

"Mr. Motour, I work better alone at interrogations. I'd ask you and your attendants to leave this room. The soldiers outside should be sufficient to halt him if he should somehow overcome me." His tone was one that brooked no argument. If one was coming, it would be met with the same order, only stated directly. Once the room was clear though, Deschain would re-administer the resuscitation drug to bring the Jedi back to the conscious world.

"Jedi, can you hear me? Do you understand?"
