| There was no telling how the meeting would go. So far, the Senator had good luck with the two or three meetings she had, especially with the one with Hunter Krandor. He was...pleasantly surprising to her. Not only was he willing to be discreet, but he was also not too shabby to look at and a decent conversationalist. Aside from his drinking at noon, but even that hardly bothered her.
The meeting with the Senator from the Cronese Mandate could go either way, she felt. He was standoffish in senate, a possibly liability in her mind. His impending censure was also unsettling. So she though if they could meet in person, she could talk to him about that and other things, such as the rebellion. Whether she told him about the rebellion would depend on how the start of the conversation went, however.
She had set the meeting for at her condo, her personal residence, and not the one provided by the senate. It would be more relaxed for him there, she thought, and his wife, whom she had also invited. Ilanah had heard that the pair were going to the opera the night before, and she genuinely hoped that the young lady from the Cronese Mandate had enjoyed it, so she made sure that she had put on some music from the same opera. It was quiet though, wafting through the beautiful and tastefully decorated condo like a gentle breeze. There were many rumors about the girl so far, one being that she was some sort of 'mail order bride' that Zarcaine had ordered, another being that she was just young and naive and knew nothing of the galaxy. Lana supposed it was the second one that was true.
On the evening of the meeting, it was raining on Imperial Center. The Senator waited patiently, helping the chef she had hired in for the evening where she could, mainly just handing him things or putting sprigs of herbs as embellishments on the meals. Despite the cold, unwelcoming rain that was streaking down the floor to ceiling windows, there was a warm glow emitting from inside of the condo and across the wet landing pad of the tall building.

| Zarcaine let out a heavy sigh as he sat quietly in the speeder and looked out the window. He wasnt upset, nor was he displeased with anything, it was just the rain. He always had a special place for it in his heart, it seemed to wash away all the things that was wrong with a world down the drain. He sat up and leaned back against the seat as he closed his eyes and listened to the rain pelting against the speeder. He looked to his wife as he smiled, his hand touching her cheek as he looked at her eyes. He enjoyed how they matched the gentle rain that fell on the planet today. He kissed her lovingly as he sat back against the bench seat and waited for the speeder to arrive at the Senators home.
When it came into view Zarcaine looked to Amneris as he held her hand, lightly rubbing it with his thumb as the speeder slowly set down. The door opened as he slid from his seat, his hand pushing open the umbrella as he held it over the door, his hand taking Amneris' as he helped her out of the speeder and walked across the landing pad to Senator Thanatos' home. The meeting was an important one, one that could determine what he would choose to do in the near future with in the Senate, as well as his own actions in the galaxy.

| Amneris stared out the window, daydreaming about the opera from the night before. Despite the ugliness surrounding getting there (the ticket fiasco with Moff Brandt), she had enjoyed it immeasurably. When Zarc touched her hand, she turned her head and glanced at him. "Hmm? Are we almost there?" She could see that they were, and the fact that the speeder was landing tipped her off.
Since she was unsure of the formality of the situation, Amneris had chosen an off white high waisted gown, whose skirts just brushed the floor. Around her arms she had a pink cashmere wrap, that she draped just at the elbows and could pull around her if she needed it. She got out of the speeder with his help and would walk inside when he was ready.

| Ilanah saw the speeder pull up from where she was in the large, open kitchen. She pulled off the apron that the chef had given her to put on to protect her plum hued silk gown. "Kal! They're here" She called down the hall as she wiped her hands off and moved into the living room. He was probably working on something, as he usually was.
She moved quickly and opened the door to let the Senator and his wife in. "So sorry about the downpour....please....come in and dry off." She smiled and offered to take the drippy umbrella from Zarc, though she was planning on leaving it just outside the door under the overhang.

| Zarcaine gave a nod to Senator Thanatos as he smiled. "Its no worry." He stepped back out under the overhang as he shook the umbrella before closing it up as he set it up against the wall. He turned back to the Senator as he bowed his head. "Thank you for inviting us to your home." He stood silent as he looked to the Senator and stepped into the small parlor as he looked to his wife, then back to Lana. "I do not mind the rain much, I find it can be soothing. It was the first thing I felt when I was able to walk again." He let that simple phrase slip, even he hadn't told Amneris about the full extent of his injuries received during the Clone Wars, which had included damage and replacement of vertebrae in his spine. He was sure now though that he would have to tell Amneris what happened exactly, yet it was a tale for another time.
He looked back to Lana as he pulled his gloves off, tucking them away into the belt that crossed his waist. The clothing he wore seemed to be out of place on Coruscant, well to be honest they were. His clothing was something that he had worn in the Cronese Mandate since he remembered, most of it cobbled together by himself and was very comfortable to him, even if he got odd looks by others.

| His concentration was fully on the task at hand, then suddenly broken by Lana yelling out to him that they were here. He looked at the door as if he would be looking at her with a confused look. He was exactly sure just who was there. He couldn't remember just who was supposed to be coming over now. There were too many meetings that he had to keep his mind on. First, the Moff. Second was her fellow Senator, then off to a shipbuilder. Now, she was meeting with another person. He'd be absolutely surprised if she had at least a day without having meetings.
He would growl a little as he levitated his project to his hand. At least he had finally finished constructing his newest lightsaber. It had taken several hours for him to complete the modifications to the project that he had started a few weeks ago. His thumb pressed down on the ignition button, activating the electronics within and seeing the blade ignite to life in front of him. The color had been changed. What started out as a blood red saber, now had become a deep blue with the changing of the crystal held within the hilt.
Once the button was pressed again, the blade disappeared. He would take the saber, tucking it down into his pocket. He would never leave without it. As he approached the door, it would slide open, revealing the rest of the apartment to him. He could hear talking coming from the entrance way. That had to be where she had been calling him to.
Kal would come up, quietly, behind Lana. He would stand there, looking at the man and woman that had just entered their home, wondering just who they were.

| Amneris followed Zarc in, unsure of the new place. She wasn't incredibly confident in herself, especially when it came to anything new. She stayed close to Zarc and returned the Senator's smile, though it was briefly.
"Thank you very much for inviting us to your home, Senator. It was very kind of you to do so." She said. Her words were simple, and almost barely audible. From then on, she would let Zarc do the talking, unless the Senator spoke to her directly.

| The Senator could tell when Kal walked up and stood behind her. Not because he made noise, but because she could just feel when he was nearby. "Forgive me for being rude, Senator Kuriyoshi. This is my husband, Kal Thanatos. Kal, this is Senator Zarcaine Kuriyoshi from the Cronese Mandate, and his wife, Amneris." She smiled a little and rested her hand on Kal's arm briefly.
"I have dinner just about ready if everyone wants to have a seat in the dining room." With her hand, she gently squeezed Kal's arm and showed them where the dining room was. Before they went in, she spoke with Kal quietly just at the doorway.
"I'm sorry I interrupted your work...if you do not wish to have dinner with us, I can make an excuse for you?" She offered and smiled slightly before she straightened the collar of his shirt with her fingertips. "Though I would like it if you stayed." Ilanah said as she glanced past him to make sure the Senator and his wife were comfortable.

| Zarcaine gave a quiet nod as he brought his hand up, a simple gesture as he spoke. "It is a pleasure to meet you Mr. Thanatos." At that moment he had to choke back the pain that he felt in his left shoulder. It was an old wound, and yet it still seemed to bother him at the most in opportune times. As he heard Senator Thanatos speak he looked to her and gave a pleasant smile. He walked with Amneris into the dining room as he stood for a moment looking out the window. He looked to Amneris as he tried to show her that she need not be reserved or quiet. Something which he was beginning to become accustomed to was her speaking up as he felt another pain in his shoulder. He brought his right hand up, trying to make it look as if he was fixing a piece of his clothing as he even recruited Amneris into looking at the large cross belt that ran up to it.
With them being alone for a moment he whispered as he spoke to her. His injuries from the Clone Wars were something he hadn't told her about, yet it would seem that they chose now to make themselves known. "My dear, you do not need to be so quiet." He looked to Amneris as he pointed out where on the belt he was saying he was having trouble with. Truth be told the pain just always seemed to subside when he had another set of hands, that were not his own, near his shoulder.

| He would shake his head to her words as they were alone outside of the dining room. There was no need for her to be apologizing for anything. His work had been completed, and he wanted to be there for her whenever he could.
"It's fine. I was finishing up just as they arrived." He would pat his pocket, wanting to show her, but knowing they had to keep it hidden until they knew it was safe to reveal exactly who and what he was.
"I'll stay and have dinner, Lana..." He would then motion for her to go ahead and follow her fellow Senator and his wife into the dining room for dinner. Something, however, bothered him about this man. The feelings and emotions that radiated off of him were unusual. Part of him wanted to further explore and see what he could dig up, and the other knew it would ruin the night if he did and it didn't work out well. One thing stuck with him as he would follow behind Lana, if she were to move as he motioned. The pain that was coming from this man. He had the power to help heal him. He didn't know if it would be smart to even offer. He'd have to find a way to pull Lana aside and ask eventually.

| Amneris gave him a rather blank look showing that she didn't understand what he was talking about when he spoke quietly to her. "I have nothing to say that will add to the conversation." She murmured. The young girl looked to Kal then and she blinked slowly as the men met and she offered him no more than a nod of her head, since he said nothing to her.
After they entered the dining room, she turned to Zarc and noted the look of pain that crossed his face. "Cramp?" She asked as she ran her hand up under the leather and rubbed her thumb tenderly along the point where his shoulder joined with his torso. She knew no different, as he hadn't told her anything about his past. In fact, they knew almost nothing about each other, it seemed.

| The Senator looked up at her spouse for a moment and smiled, then pushed herself up onto her toes and planted an all too brief, but tender kiss on his lips before she dropped and turned and went into the dining room. She took a seat in her normal place and smoothed her dress as she waited for Kal to join them. After that, it wouldn't take her long to get straight to the point as the maid she had served the courses.
"So I take it that you are not a big fan of North, Oswaldt, Ordan, and Oriel, Senator?" She started as she leaned back in the chair and against the right arm of it somewhat. "I've noticed your actions in Senate and I am trying to block the outrageous censure of you, but I am not sure that I will succeed in it. The so called 'ethics committee' barely has enough ethical or moral values to fill a teaspoon." she offered a smile before she retrieved a grape from the appetizer tray and popped it into her mouth. In the meantime, the maid poured wine for them all, just a light wine from Chandrila.
"That aside, a censure isn't a dismissal by any means....a slap on the wrist if anything." Ilanah narrowed her eyes for a moment. "And I think....it might even benefit you."

| "Just a small one dear" He gave a smile as his hand touched hers, moving it a little so that her thumb would hit the right spot. The simple motion of it seemed to push back and tighten what ever screw or bolt might have slipped and loosened from its original place. He gave another gentle smile as he leaned forward to whisper to his wife as he smiled again. "Just dont be too shy my dear. I know how you can be. There's no need to hide that here." Zarcaine kissed her cheek lightly before he looked back and watched the Senator take a seat. His own hand pulling out the seat for Amneris before he pushed it in for her and took his seat as he listened to her speaking.
"I'm not sure that it can be called an Ethics committee then if they're on it. As for this whole censure business, I'm sure that my enemies in the Senate will go for more than just a simple slap on the wrist." He watched as the servant was pouring wine before he lightly placed his hand over the cup, shaking his head. "No thank you, I'm not one that is much for Alcohol." He gave a light smile before lightly turning the glass over and sitting it down so that dust or other matter would not gather in the clean glass.

| As she would kiss him, he would gladly return it. As she moved off into the next room, he would stand there for a moment with a small smirk on his face before moving off behind her and taking his seat at the table.
The spread of the food all looked rather quite delicious and sitting right in front of him, his favorite alcoholic beverage, a glass of Corellian Ale. He wouldn't hesitate to reach out and grasp the glass and take a drink as the two Senator's began their conversation.
Kal, just like this man's wife, was being rather quiet. He wasn't sure exactly what was going on, or even why this man was here, but at this point didn't even try to figure it out. All he knew was that Lana obviously wanted this meeting and that he had his drink to keep him occupied as the two talked business.

| Amneris stayed quiet as she ate her meal, though she was listening to the conversation between the two Senators. Unfortunately, she knew nothing of the censure that the two were talking about. She did know what it meant though. Instead of interrupting, she turned her attention to the Senators husband, and spoke up, though she was still quiet.
"Mr. Thanatos," Amneris started as she let her fork rest on the edge of the plate. "What do you do for a living?" It was polite conversation, nothing more.
