Apologies, there appears to be an error in the tally for the ballots.

Mr Kruus informs me he declines to answer these questions, which he feels are answered by the legislation and previous debate, and likely to drag out the legislation process and attempt to block an important piece of legislation which is, frankly, a critical emergency bill to prevent the trade in dangerous unregulated weapons and is a matter of Galactic Security. And if I might point out, these ships are already illegal to produce under your own legislation.

The issue of a grace period is being resolved by the administration, which estimates only 4 member worlds and one affiliate are effected by this legislation. There is a 7 day period (stated in the act) for planets to turn over these ships to Federal Custody, and officers will be sent to the relevant systems in order to facilitate this and mean that the vessels will not have to travel.

As so few worlds are involved, I have ordered the New Republic Defence Forces to be dispatched to all effected member worlds and provide an equally strong level of defence, this allows a good training exercise for our forces and ensures all Citizens are kept safe.

I should have known to expect that, of course, the Chief of State would have a reasonable approach to implementing this potentially controversial legislation. Indeed, I find his implementation plan to be quite judicious and in keeping with the spirit of the recent capital ship ban. As such, I support it. Do understand that it was my concern, on a measure that is, indeed, as important as this one, that it should pass with broad support and without acrimony. The Chief of State, I believe, has assured this with a reasoned demeanor and discourse that is in pleasant contrast to the intransigence of Senator Kruus.
