| A fleet of warships, belonging to the planets Brentaal and Neimoidia, and the Intergalactic Mining Corporation (respectively) appeared suddenly from hyperspace in low orbit over the planet Acherin. The operation had been meticulously and cordially organized down to the last detail; each fleet would be given its own sector of space to blockade, and a corresponding region on the surface on which to conduct its own operations. All cargo, resources and assets seized from the planet would be deposited on a Lucrehulk-class freighter belonging to the Intergalactic Banking Clan, which had been kind enough to monitor the blockade and whose accountants would appraise the goods and divide their value equally between each party, in cash. It was, in short, the financial rape of an entire world, completely legal, efficient, and ruthless. The following vessels participated in the blockade: Neimoidia 1 MC80 Mon Calamari Star Cruiser 2 Assassin-class Corvettes Brentaal 2 Star Galleons (one of which outfitted as a carrier) 3 CR90 Corellian Corvettes The IMC 1 E8 Enforcer-class Star Cruiser 1 Rendili Brisbane-class Battleship 1 Rendili Monterey-class Destroyer 1 Rendili Saratoga-class Carrier Dannil Bo'var and his IMC had also been so generous as to furnish a number of freighters for the specific purpose of shuttling confiscated goods to and from the planet and the Banking Clan's Lucrehulk, which sat watchfully in the distance as the blockade began to assume its formations. By a random lottery, it had been determined that Brentaal's lead vessel would broadcast and explain the terms of the operation to Acherin, and so it was that the corvette Vuultin opened a channel to the surface. "Government of Acherin," the transmission began, "In the name of the people of the New Republic and the will of the Senate, in defense of free communication and commerce in the galaxy, and in opposition to your unlawful limitation and disregard thereof, the New Republic worlds of Brentaal and Neimoidia, and the Intergalactic Mining Corporation, do hereby constitute this blockade on your planet until such time that your government has reconsidered and repealed its oppressive policies. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to henceforth intercept and confiscate any cargo traveling to and from your world (with the exception of food, provisions and medical supplies), and to seize any assets or resources from Acherin as are deemed necessary to compensate us for the cost of our operations." "Any hostilities perpetrated by your government against our vessels, our equipment, or any personnel or droids in our employ, will be considered in violation of the blockade, for which Acherin will be prosecuted, fined and/or resisted accordingly. Lastly, the blockade reserves the right, and will imminently commence, communications jamming for the duration of our operation." On cue, the vessels began to block Acherin's communications, with the exception of a channel to be made available to contact the Vuultin, and its counterparts in the Neimoidian and IMC fleets. For now, the preceding message was broadcast continuously on an indefinite loop, until Acherin replied.

| In the outskirts of the Acherin system the New Republic and blockading ships long range sensors would pick up signs of ships exiting hyperspace, and several others entering hyperspace, the scale of this would be quite large, indicating several capital ships were present in the outer edge of a the system, their transponders would be switched off but it would be apparent from the signals and battle comm language that they were Imperial capital vessels. Translation: Gemmell had sent a pair of Imperial Star Destroyers and a Nebulon-B Escort frigate to the very distant edge of the Acherin system, hyperspacing in, staying in realspace only for long enough to recalculate jump coordinates before jumping again out into deep space again on a route that seemed to lead to nowhere. Intending to make the New Republic aware there was an Imperial presence at work here. All he left was a dozen probe droids, drifting inactive in-system towards Acherin.

| Line Captain Carson Rice stood with his hands behind his back, staring out at the hyperspace wormhole through the viewport of the Imperial Star Destroyer Achilles, waiting for the reversion into Real Space. Although he had once served the New Imperial Order, he never saw any of the combat his comrades saw, until it came to fighting each other...and he fled, after having to kill a fellow New Imperial, and defected to the PA. Now he stood in command of an ISD once more, and was ready to see combat for the first time since the Thrawn Campaign. It was this he lived for, the uncertainty...the anticipation...that surge of adreneline...facing death right in the face. The Army boys always said they did the real fighting... but he knew better, now Army puke could deal with the 360 degree battlefield he worked with... not to mention the infinite list of problems a starship could encounter during a fight. Then, the moment came, the wormhole shifted into a group of lines, which soon became stars. And before him, sat the planet of Acherin and some of the ships of the blockade. His ship, deployed in a double arrowhead diamond formation, sitting the Bulk Cruiser and Carrack Cruisers in an arrow formation at the head of the battle group, with the Enforcers in an arrow formation behind the first, and Achilles sitting in formation behind the first two lines. The battlegroup came in already at red alert, with shields being brought up immediatly, and fighters, already being prepped, launching in protected flightplans that brought them into a close fleet escort formation. Now, the transports sat at full readiness to launch and conduct their quick landing, and immediatly, his gunners began obtaining their targetting solutions against the opposing ships. At full speed, they came barrelling, in full combat readiness, towards the blockade... | The Neimoidians in the meantime had a very sucessful few hours of fiscal rape on Acherin. They had intercepted critically amongst these an Action VI Corellian Transport carrying a quintet of Diplomats from the Council of Moffs including the Deputy-Governer of Borosk, not only this but they had been carrying a good faith gesture of 50 Proton Torpedos with a pair of ground launchers. This was intended to give the people of Acherin some low-budget anti-capital ship firepower for resisting any New Republic invasion, its capture proving damning vindication for Kruus's accusations. Also captured were over a dozen metal shipments, varying from bulk transport and action transport size vessels outgoing to deep space, a huge value all in all being impounded, one ship, a Corellian YT-2400 managing to run the gauntlet of picket ships and escaping towards the Pentastar Alignment with a cargo of precious metal. As far as incoming traffic, roughly a score of vessels were impounded, 5 were allowed to continue on course after being found to be carrying medical supplies, but any vessels carrying weapons, munitions, war material or anything that could be considered war material were confiscated. In order to confront the accusations and confront the local government with the evidence of the weapons coming to them publically a team of Diplomats was sent in a Lambda Class shuttle, lead by Senator Kruus' own son, Brian, which swooped down low above the capital with shields up, only to be gunned down and to crash outside the city.. In response to this the Neimoidians issued a unanimous declaration that the bank of Acherin would be seized to pay the families of the dead and also the cost of the shuttle. Over leaflets a statement was issued that the Government of Acherin should move people away from the Bank of Acherin because it was going to be seized in the next 30 minutes. Half an hour later, the bank of Acherin was a fortress, it had been filled with Acherin soldiers, the very cream and elite of the Acherin army, the Captain of the MC-80 in orbit locked on a tractor beam to the bank, using a great deal of his ships power to drag the structure free of its earthly bonds, the troops began to run and scatter, but it was too late as the bank was lifted from its foundations and began to disintegrate. Within half a minute it was disintegrating into mid air as at a rapid speed it was sucked up into the atmosphere, shattering and falling apart but the tractor beam locking onto the vault and dragging it up, depositing Acherin soldiers all the way up, taking all the mineral wealth stored within the vault but also avenging the deaths of so many innocent negotiators. Several hours later, after taking the vault to the awaiting Lucrehulk owned by the IMC the battlefleet sent by the Empire came out of hyperspace, the three Neimoidian ships spinning around and comming the other blockading ships, moving closer to them and further away from Acherin and out of the way of the PA ships so as to share defensive firepower "Neimoidian taskforce moving to form up with IMC and Brentaal vessels". The MC80 launched its fighter squadrons, two of X-Wings and one of B-Wings, forming up defensively on the battlegroup. They requested from the other vessels suggestions as to whether to engage. "Were outgunned Gentlemen, I would suggest for greatest possible return on our firepower investment we skirmish with them till we can get reinforcements.."

| The Brentaalan fleet had also had a most productive soirée in the intervening hours. It had confiscated its first billion credits worth of imports that morning, primarily luxury goods; coffee, wine, fabrics, toys, even a shipment of new Astral-8 landspeeders, as well as more standard goods; fuel, fertilizers, components, metals, and an entire Colony Class 23669 power generator alone worth almost 25 million credits--everything a neutral, autonomous planet needed to survive on the Outer Rim, with the exception of food and medical supplies, which were allowed safe passage as promised. But easily the most valuable were exports which attempted, unwisely, to run the blockade. Acherin was a world rich in mineral resources, and within hours Brentaal had seized shipments of trinium, kelerium, corundum, and crystalline vertex (to name but a few). Morale was high throughout the blockade, and there was much good humor particularly when depositing their goods on the IBC's Lucrehulk. Why shouldn't one be in good spirits, when one is becoming rich? Even the characteristcally stoic Muuns were laughing with the Brentaalan, Neimoidian and IMC crews, as they went about appraising each fleet's latest "haul." The endeavor eventually became something of a friendly competition; a gentlemen's game to see which fleet would bring in the most (and most expensive) goods. Not to be bested, Brentaal planned an elaborate operation of its own. When the fleet noted one of many repulsortrains on Acherin, this one reported to carry an entire shipment of freshly-mined crystalline vertex, they waited to strike until the train was alone in the canyons outside of Sood (once pristine badlands that had since become littered with leaflets and literature dropped by the blockade). The CR90 corvette Cormond descended upon the train, its shields agitated by a pair of turbolaser turrets situated on the train's gun carriage, but not for long. A peppering of ion cannon fire from the Cormond quickly rendered the train immobile, and its laser cannons tore through the durasteel gun carriage with a vengeance, blowing it free from the rest of the train and sending it plummeting, in flames, to the ground below. The Cormond's marines then rappelled onto the otherwise undefended train and went about seizing its cargo; crate upon crate of the rare, valuable mineral and checking each one for transponders or explosives. When the corvette was filled to its entire 3,000 ton capacity, it departed the planet once more and promptly deposited its cargo to the Lucrehulk, where the crew enjoyed a crate of champagne (seized earlier by the IMC) in celebration of a job well done, with no crewmen lost and no civilians killed. By the time the Pentastar Alignment's fleet appeared, however, the Cormond and the rest of the Brentaalan vessels were back in position--and already on alert, from the detection of Imperial ships on the edge of the system some hours prior (and the bizarre smoke signals detonated without explanation over Sood). The Alignment vessels, which arrived between the right flank of Brentaal's fleet, and the left flank of the IMC's (with the Neimoidian fleet situated roughly on the opposite side of the planet), would notice Brentaal's first reaction was to fall back. The regal green-and-grey corvettes, and the star galleons in their charge (who quickly began deploying their compliments of Cloakshapes), would retreat outside of firing range and regroup for a counter offensive. "Agreed," replied the Captain of the Vuultin to the Neimoidian transmission. "We'll harry their perimeter, and perhaps the IMC can give us some starfighter support." The corvettes began forming for their first attack run. "Tally ho, gentlemen."

| "Very well done Gentlemen," Valentin complimented of the gunner as he disabled the freighter attempting to run the blockade. Since the start of the embargo, the InterGalactic Mining Core had made a nice sum of goods that would be processed and sold at market value via the InterGalactic Banking Clan, then of course the InterGalactic Mining Core would move on, once the resources had been bled from the planet. Even so, Valentin frowned as one of the communication terminals began to blink rapidly. A lonely officer glanced at the console then turned to regard Valentin. "Sir, coordination with communications and observation with the Brentaalan Fleet has revealed an enemy flotilla dropped from hyperspace. Enemy flotilla strength is registered at three Enforcer picket vessels, designed by Sienar and Kuat; one Imperial Star Destroyer, designed by Kuat; two Carrack-class Cruisers, designed by Damorian manufacturing; and one bulk cruiser, design unspecified according to databanks. Threat analysis places the Imperial Star Destroyer as the strongest vessel, but the combined attack power of the Enforcer-picket vessels are closely matched. Overall threat assessment places the InterGalactic Mining Core and her sister fleet (Brentaalan) severely outgunned." "Sir, we're receiving a transmission from the Neimiodian flotilla; they are requesting that we skirmish with the intruders and await possible relief from the Republic." "Gentlemen," Valentin approached the Communications console, "I don't need to remind you that this blockade is officially disbanded when the Republic arrives, which means that we aren't counting on their support. Besides, last best guess placed them at a timely distance, and the recent meteor problem on the Corellian Run means they will take longer to get here; we don't have relief coming." "Sir, the Brentaalan fleet has requested starfighter support to help harry the perimeter and annoy the capital ships." Pausing, Valentin considered his possibilities, then settled on what he considered the most effective plan. Since the force was so overwhelming one could assuming that their intention was to destroy the blockade and impose Imperial rule over Acherin--something that the local government might very well appreciate. Something that Valentin didn't. This also meant that they could expect an increase orbital remnant, perfect for the skirmishing maneuver brought to their attention by the Neimoidians. "Communications, signal the Spartan and inform her to come come along the port side of the Daedalus. Helm, course change, full speed ahead, take us to interception range of the enemy flotilla; but keep us within an agreeable retreat ratio. Communications, signal the Trident to move to fringe distance and commence firing on the Imperial Star Destroyer. The Daedalus and the Spartan are to focus our firing solutions on the Carrack vessels--objective is to disable the vessels critically before moving to the Enforcers. Let's get rid of some of the weaker shielded vessels so that we can focus our firepower on the tougher opponent. Inform the Kensington to launch squadrons ten through fourteen to provide support and coordinate with the Brentalaan fleet. Then have the Kensington move to upper orbit. Alright gentlemen, the Trident is going to provide support as the Spartan and the Daedalus attack, the Kensington is our retreat vector, is that understood? Good; helm--engage" The Spartan would already be within closing distance of the Daedalus and the two vessels would creep out to meet the opposing fleet, their own targeting resolutions fixated on the weaker Carrack vessels. The Trident would focus on the Imperial Star Destroyer, but the great distance between the vessel and the enemy flotilla would be so great that any shots fired would either be minimal in damage, or glance at best. For the Kensington's part, the cruiser simply opened her bay doors and release a flutter of mosquitoes that would form up and move towards the Brentalaan fleet, coordinating their own forces with whatever the planetary government had in mind. Quote (Tactical Analysis) Unit Numbers: 1 x Brisbane-class Battleship Trident 1 x Monterey-class Destroyer Spartan 1 x Saratoga-class Cruiser Kensington 1 x E8 Enforcer-class Star Cruiser Daedalus Unit Movement: Brisbane-class moved out of planetary orbit, positioned just within it's own firing range [Fall back 1] Monterey-class, Enforcer-class moving side-by-side towards enemy flotilla [Offensive Line] Kensington-class moved to high planetary orbit [Fall back 2] 4 squadrons of fighters moved to Brentalaan side of blockade starfighter squadrons slaved over to Brentalaan command Offensive line informed to target Carrack cruisers and attack when firing solution is sufficient. Brisbane-class to target ISD and attack when firing solution is low

| "Give me an OpFor Composition." he ordered as he walked back to the tactical display. "A MC80 Star Cruiser and two Assassin Corvettes bearing Neimoidia markings, two Star Galleons, one modified, and three CR90 Corvettes bearing Brentaal markings, as well as a E8 Enforcer Star Cruiser, Brisbane Battleship, Monteray Destroyer, and Saratoga Carrier bearing InterGalactic Mining Core markings." reported the Sensor Officer. "Good, we seem to have the advantage...although the IMC forces worry me." he said towards his Tactical Officer. 'Destroying or disabling that Brisbane should be a top priority' he thought to himself. He observed the movements, and for the time being was unconcerned with the Neimoidians on the far side of the planet, as it would take some time for them to make their way into the combat zone. As he watched the tactical display show the enemy response, it seemed that their arrival was unexpected. 'These militia forces shouldn't prove too much of a challenge' he thought to himself. They weren't a full scale invasion force... not yet anyway. He turned away as the IMC squadron began to move in on them. "Begin break now!" he ordered. Immediatly, the Enforcers pulled upwards and the Bulk Cruiser and Carrack Cruiser dove down, with transports from the Achilles immediatly launching alongside transports from the Enforcers, with escort being pulled by the Achilles's fighter wing, which had temporarily been filled with TIE Interceptor Squadrons, as well as five Assault Gunboats and three Skipray Blastboats. The remaining fighters moved out of their fleet escort formations and began to screen the incoming fighters. "All ships, began obtain firing solutions. Enforcer Line, fire with the Achilles on the incoming Brisbane, full weapons spread. Cruiser Line, fire on the incoming IMC Line. Fire at will once targets are in range." he ordered over his comm. He then walked back up to the viewport, and watched as the metal shapes out in the distance of the void of space came closer and closer. "Sir, Brentaal forces are holding outside the combat zone...Neimoidian forces are moving from the far side of the planet, however will take some time to come in on us." reported one of his officers. "Good, are all transports clear?" he asked. "Yes sir, the battlegroup's full ground forces are inbound to the planet's surface." reported his Executive Officer. He nodded, proceeding to walk back over to the tactical display. They had changed up their battle plan just before reversion into Real Space, however it was in an effort to present a more capable defense of the planet. Now it was time to see how well the drop went, and hopefully, their entire surface force would make it onto the ground. | The Imperials underestimated Brentaal's fleet at their own peril. The three corvettes--all of whose crews were professionals seasoned from a decade of interdiction and counter piracy, and well trained in planetary defense--had formed up, with the Vuultin in the lead, and accelerated toward the Imperial formation at a formidable speed. They would remain too maddeningly fast and too far for Rice's gunners to effectively hit as they would circle his perimeter, strafing the smaller Enforcers incessantly. This alone would not immediately damage the picket cruisers, but would persistently weaken their shields. Brentaal's old Star Galleons remained inconspicuously on the Imperial's far left flank, taking occasional, indiscriminate pot shots with their combined ten turbolaser cannons at any vessels that strayed within range, as well as loosing concussion missiles (of which, between them, there were over a hundred) at the respective Enforcers in the distance. Sure to hit hard. Within moments, the IMC's starfighters had circled the Imperials and arrived to reinforce the Galleons and run interference on any TIE's that might be thrown in their direction. Meanwhile, Neimoidia's two Assassin-class corvettes had closed the distance from the opposite end of the planet, approaching the Imperial formation from the front and above. They used the opportunity to snipe at the dispatched landing craft (with both turbolasers and well placed concussion missiles), particularly at the walker barges which--both large and slow--made easy targets. The Assassins then settled into an attack pattern similar to Brentaal's, circling the formation like vultures and firing into it indiscriminately. Both the Neimoidian and Brentaalan corvettes would also assist each other in shooting at any TIE's that might harry them, the Brentaalan ion cannons proving particularly effective for this purpose. The Neimoidians, reluctant to commit their largest cruiser to potential harm, kept their MC80 a distant shape on Acherin's horizon, well outside of effective firing range but still firing at odd intervals, their turbolaser lances glancing off the Achilles' shields without serious effect. Of note, the confusion had the effect of finally dropping the blockade's communications jamming, all at once bombarding the Imperial ships with the combined transmissions of all of Acherin. Summary Both Brentaal's and Neimoidia's corvettes begin harrying the Imperial perimeter, firing at the ships within the formation (particularly the Enforcers) indiscriminately, and weakening their shields in anticipation of a concussion missile strike from Brentaal's two Star Galleons, situated inconspicuously on Rice's far left flank and also taking pot shots at anything within range. Also of note, the Assassins open fire on some of the Imperial landing craft, especially the walker barges.

| “Sir, the Trident is reporting missile tube failure, she’s requesting to pull out of combat.” The Brisbane, having been already positioned just within firing range to send pot-shots at the Imperials was nowhere near the combat zone, and thus, effectively able to withdraw from combat. Yet as Valentin examined the holodisplay, he denoted that the Imperial upper-flotilla was focusing on the Brisbane, such a manoeuvre would bring the upper-flotilla into the Intergalactic Mining Core portion of the planetary blockade, but would also cut off support for their lower-flotilla, consisting of the bulk cruiser and her two carrack escorts. “Inform her she’s granted reprieve, and she’s to pull out,” Valentin ordered. Although as the Imperial line moved closer to the planet, the Brisbane would be pushed back anyway, following orders to remain just within the firing circle—with outside effective firing range similar to the MC80, though closer than the Neimoidians. As the offensive line descended towards the lower-flotilla of the Imperial forces they would unload their respect payloads once targeting solutions had been optimized. The Spartan (Monterey) would release the heaviest load on one of the Carrack cruisers; firing two volleys of her concussion missile launchers (12 concussion missiles) in sync with one volley from her snap missiles (16 rapid acceleration missiles) and one volley from her cluster-tubes (2 cluster torpedos which would release a deadly spray of 30 missiles). The effects would undoubtedly be catastrophic for the smaller cruisers shields. Yet it was the missiles in unison with the 4 turbolasers that were positioned to fire forward that would lend the most severe of the punishment to the Carrack cruiser, with the Spartan holding in reserve the 8 stacked missile launches. Once two volleys had been launched, then the canons would begin to blaze at freewill, and the 8 reserved launchers would be fired at the bulk cruiser. Meanwhile, the Spartan’s three dual heavy turbolaser turrets would assist in attacking the bulk cruiser, opening up with the combined might of six turbolasers. The E8 Enforcer Daedalus did not have such an impressive array of weaponry, yet was still more than a match for the other Carrack cruiser. With her four dual heavy turbolaser turrets opening up on the other vessel first, followed by a full spread of her eleven missile launchers (a total of 44 missiles). Both vessels were still coming straight at the lower-flotilla line of the Imperial forces, focusing there combined powers on the respective ships. The Saratoga was out of firing range and out of combat, though she was also in communication with the fighters that were planet side assisting in the ‘apprehension’ of ‘sizeable goods with which to repay the loan of occupation that the InterGalactic Mining Core has generously assumed’. Of note, the InterGalactic Mining Core was taking no actions in stopping the transports from making it planetside, instead leaving that task for the much better positioned Neimoidian MC80. Or perhaps they were simply waiting for the Imperial formation to make it closer to the planet (where the Brisbane would be in effective firing range). Quote (Summary) Unit Numbers: 1 x Brisbane-class Battleship Trident 1 x Monterey-class Destroyer Spartan 1 x Saratoga-class Cruiser Kensington 1 x E8 Enforcer-class Star Cruiser Daedalus Unit Movement: Monterey fires 58 missiles at Carrack 1, then opens fire with 4 forward turbolasers at Carrack 1 Monterey fires 8 missiles at Bulk Cruiser, ten opens fire with 3 dual turbolasers at Cruiser (6 total) Enforcer fires 44 missiles at Carrack 2, then opens fire with 4 dual turbolasers at Carrack 2 (8 total) Brisbane making slow retreat from combat, keeping well outside effective firing range, but still inside the firing window.

| (( I also need to speak with you--Rice--about the ships listed. You didn't declare the modification of your vessel for a loadout of Skiprays or for the Interceptors until the second post, thereby making it (according to the standardized rules of TB) a mode. While it is a minor one at that as combat hadn't fully begun, it is nevertheless something that requires rectification, so if you could find me on MSN (you know who I am) we can discuss it. Thank you. ))

| ((Situation handled)) He watched the Brisbane pull off from approach, and soon, a massive salvo of missles were coming in on the fleet. He immediatly got on the comm, "All ships, redirect defensive fire on incoming warheads. Sword Wing, engage enemy Assassin Corvettes. All guns unable to fire on the incoming warhead, focus firing on the CR90s." he ordered. He then turned to his communications officer, "Get me a status report on the landing force." he ordered. "Yes, sir." was a firm reply from the experienced vet. The line continued its push forward, attempt to give some cover to the landing force as they began to enter the atmosphere, with the battle group attempting to push even farther towards the atmosphere to the point where they were right on the edge when the transports would return. Colonel Darren Kilwrath led the Interceptors of Shield Wing. An experienced veteran and elite ace, he served with the Empire at Endor...then Thrawn...then Palpatine in his Rebirth...then the New Imperial Order...and now he was here with the PA. As the fire began to ran down on them, the transports, and his Interceptors, began evasive manueveres. The Interceptors attempted to shoot down any warhead that came in on them, but could only do so much while maintaining their cover. "Group Obsidian, fall back and harry those Assassins with Sword Wing. As soon as we hit blue sky, jump back into formation." he ordered, following which the rear half of the fighter escort peeled off and back up to hit the Assassins. Meanwhile, the rest of the escort spread out to cover the transports as they began their "burn" into the atmosphere. MOVEMENTS All ships fire what weapons they can on the incoming IMC missle volley. All other guns fire on the CR90s. Sword Wing, along with a fighter group from Shield Wing, began attacks against the Assassins. Landing force enters the atmosphere, and battle groups pushes to the edge of the atmosphere. LOSSES 2 AT-ATs 2 AT-STs 20 Imperial Navy Troopers 20 Special Missions Troopers REVISION In the inital posting of the ground element, 10 AT-STs were accidently put down instead of 40. I have corrected this, but if anyone has any issues with it, they can reach me on MSN.

| The Imperials would undoubtedly have little success in repelling the missile volleys, both because it attempted to intercept the missiles with mere TIE's, and that it was those very TIE's (and accompanying transports) that made evasive maneuvers, not the capital ships which were, after all, the actual target. Worse, the IMC's concussion missile volley was tiny in comparison to Brentaal's, which as aforementioned had launched over 100 missiles over several seconds at the Enforcer-class Pickets, from the opposite direction than the IMC's vessels. And yet, it was the IMC's attack that the Imperials focused on, to their own detriment. The Enforcers would become acquainted with Brentaal's missiles with devastating results, as virtually every missile―apparently, mostly ignored by the Imperials―connected with their targets, all of whose shields were already weakened by the harassment of the CR90's. One of the Pickets, the Myrmidon would be hit with comparably less punishment than its two sister vessels, both of which glared white as their shields labored under the impact of the missile volley, then hot crimson as the projectiles exploded against their hulls, searing through durasteel, circuitry, and humanity, as the Spartan and Olympic became enveloped, momentarily, in flame. It was the Olympic that fared the worst, as one of its massive power generators was hit several times too many, and exploded spectacularly. At the very least, the ship would be crippled and operating on notably diminished power. It was then that the Neimoidians had a sudden change of heart. Watching the battle unfold, and the near incapacitation of the Olympic, they saw not only destruction but also opportunity. The MC80 abruptly fired up its tremendous engines and steamed directly toward (and only slightly starboard of) the Imperial formation. As it drew nearer, it would devote the entirety of its turbolasers (48 of them, in all) at the Achilles, and the entirety of its ion cannons (20 batteries), at the unfortunate Olympic. Its intent was not to destroy either vessel, necessarily, but rather to disable the beleagured Picket Cruiser and damage the Achilles on the way (specifically, the Achilles' own bank of ion cannons). Meanwhile, all of the corvettes continued their strafing runs relatively unmolested. They were too fast and too distant for the Imperial ships to realistically hit―without breaking their own formation, that is―and the TIE's mere laser cannons would have only a limited effect on their shields. Nonetheless, the Neimoidians and Brentaalans immediately answered the Imperial starfighters with their own; the MC80, now in the fight, had deployed its 24 B-wings and 12 X-wings, while Brentaal's 36 Cloakshape fighters deployed from the Star Galleons and joined the fray. All 72 of them would run interference for the corvettes (Assassins and CR90's alike), most likely making scrap of the TIE's, with their inferior shielding, weapons, speed, and maneuverability. Summary Brentaal's missile volley (over 100 strong), largely ignored by the Imperials, hits the Alignment's three Enforcer-class Pickets to devastating effect, especially the Spartan and Olympic, and especially the Olympic, which is nearly incapacitated. The Neimoidian MC80 joins the fight, firing its turbolasers on the Achilles and its ion cannons on the Olympic, and deploying its fighters to protect the corvettes. Brentaal likewise deploys its own fighters, also to protect the corvettes. All corvettes continue to strafe the Alignment's perimeter, largely unaffected by the Imperial vessels, which are too slow to effectively target them.

| Proximity was key in the Besand Manoeuvre relying primarily on the concussion missiles capability at short range to spread out chaos and disorganize an enemy fleet while the InterGalactic Mining Core swept through the ranks. In any event, the closer proximity to the lower-flotilla (being the intended target) and the IMC offensive line would make it thoroughly difficult for any of the escort wings (those being TIEs) to intercept the incoming volleys. The point defence guns were another issue, although they were more numerous (about 10 to the Carracks) they wouldn’t have near the same efficiency that they normally had against further distanced targets. Therefore, the detonations against the Carrack Cruisers would be astronomical, and undoubtedly cause sufficient damage, if not cause the shields to overload completely. However, should the laser-cannons prove not to be on the ship (which instead would opt for an offensive capability of Ion Cannons) then the damage would be even heavier, and the ships would both undoubtedly be crippled. Nonetheless, the Carracks were either out of the fight, or else incapable of any real offensive attack. Valentin smiled, directing his glance to the blue display. Green triangles were encompassing Red triangles, and in the mix of the foray was the two Green triangles that were the E8 and Monterey respectively. “Redirect fire, let’s bring the Enforcer alongside the Bulk Cruiser, Monterey to carry out sustained fire, prepare the last two volleys.” Now that the element of surprise was over, the next two volleys of concussion missiles would be easier to intercept, but it was no matter. The E8 Enforcer would veer to the left away from the Carrack, positioning herself alongside the Bulk Cruiser where her massive dual heavy turbolaser guns would begin their punishment of the enemy shield system, followed by the laser canons on the left side opening up (5 in total). The Monterey would release the last two volleys (12 missiles) at the Bulk Cruiser before her powerful dual heavy turbolasers in sync with her quad laser cannons and four heavy turbolasers opened up on the Bulk Cruiser. Both vessels used their anti-starfighter weapons now, destroying the intercepting TIEs as they made their runs at the concussion missiles. Of note, the Enforcer had begun to sustain damage, although not significant. The Monterey’s powerful shields were holding strong—though now that the Imperial flotilla seemed focused on the InterGalactic Mining Core, this last segment of the blitzkrieg would be short lived. As the MC80 made their debut within combat, the Brisbane would slow from her retreat and engage her powerful engines. Waiting until the Imperial Star Destroy had focused it’s guns on the equally powerful MC80 before the Brisbane would open up with her own guns, closing the distance to make an attempted Besand Manoeuvre on the distracted ISD. Quote (SUMMARY) Unit Numbers: 1 x Brisbane-class Battleship Trident 1 x Monterey-class Destroyer Spartan 1 x Saratoga-class Cruiser Kensington 1 x E8 Enforcer-class Star Cruiser Daedalus Unit Movement: Because of distance, most of the missiles (a significant amount) would score hits Enforcer moves alongside the Bulk Cruiser and begins broadside (4 Dual Heavy Turbolasers, 5 Laser Cannons) Monterey is positioned in front of Bulk Cruiser, opens up all forward guns. (12 concussion missile volley, 3 dual heavy turbolasers, 4 heavy turbolasers, 8 retractable quad laser cannons) Brisbane begins to move within effective weapons firing range, barrelling at the ISD with all guns blazing. Once close enough, she would unleash her powerful concussion missiles*. Attempting broadside. (1 Main heavy turbolaser, 5 dual heavy turbolasers, 2 heavy turbolasers.) (*30 concussion missiles)
