| Is it just me, or does the Atrisian Fortress Ship look like a Ha'tak class vessel to anyone else other than myself.

| Well well.. someone critiquing a Jamie request. I grant you +5 Kudos for being the first to take me on.
A pyramid is what? A glorified pile, eventually refined into a pointy pile. It's pretty much the first thing any civilization on a world with gravity would come up with.
Oh myyyy. I just read about it. There's genuinely a franchise where aliens land actual pyramids which make up part of their starships? Oh dear. What else, are their secret enemy the ones who dropped off Stonehenge or Mycenae? Does every ancient monument have an alien race?
My design is in every respect cooler than some Egyptian stereotypes with wholly unconvincing armour. What are with these whip things that are also lasers? Wouldn't it be more efficient to have a laser rifle shaped like a laser rifle.
The Culture would pwn all of these silly races. Thus I claim victory and can confirm it bears no relationship to anything from the space ring franchise.Added (27 Jan 2013, 1:41 PM) --------------------------------------------- That is right Jamie. I am the Killer-class ROU Trade Surplus, don't worry everyone. I'm just using one of my effectors to control Jamie's brain so he types this. It may have been simpler to simply operate the computer but I like a bit of a challenge now and then. What is more fun, is that I am doing this from around a lightyear away Isn't that exciting?
So I'm going to square with you. I'm only 200 meters long (quite small, right?) but could literally defeat the entire Empire of these faux-egyptians. I'm also objectively more intelligent than any of them thanks to being a Mind.
Yep. Just me could wipe them out, or the Galactic Empire etc. Remember the saying, "Don't Fuck with the Culture" Does it bother you that there is nothing in your franchise that could even cause me to break a mechanical sweat equivalent?
Would you like to see a picture of me?

| In fact.
I actually award you Carl the First Annual "Critique of Jamie's Requests" Award.
There are three choices of gift, at my own expense
- The fabulous sum of $10 to be transferred via paypal. - A $10 Donation to a charity of your choice in your name. - I eat one teaspoon full of the (higher than Wasabi in burn) Hottest English Mustard commercially available, and will write a full trip report up for you here.
You have my word as an officer and a gentleman I'll do any of the above.
I seriously find it annoying when I am always the one critiquing requests like some scifi grinch. I've had a taste of my own medicine, and oh my is it sweet. Everyone ought to be more vocal in their opinions on requests and bring more debate and discourse to the table so we all up our game.
Seriously (with no trace of sarcasm). Thanks.

| So what are the odds of the super mystical cosmic weaponry actually coming online, out of curiosity?

It's been under research 10,000 years, by Sith, Jedi, real academics etc.
Imagine if you gave a cave man an airliner.. it's so far beyond his comprehension it's just a place to live in; because thats what he can make sense of it as.
Same shizzle. Time's gone on and we've worked out how to wheel it along on it's wheels, worked out the recling seats and maybe even how to waggle the flaps - but you're not flying to New York.

| Adam why doth you always suspect so much? I just want my decadent Laputan court. Adding ancient mysteries and jazz just gives it more character.
In case you're not familiar.
Laputa is a flying city in Gulliver's travels. Go read the chapter, I like it.
Don't make me challenge you to Thunderdome.
Added (27 Jan 2013, 2:48 PM) --------------------------------------------- I should add it does not reflect on Emperor Park's penis because it came with his position and was ultimately discovered not built. It is very much a Laputan construct, surrounded by this fleet of ancient ships it just glides around demanding supplies now and then from subject worlds, not doing much useful.

| Psh. Two men enter, one man leaves, eh? I'm familiar with Thunderdome. Haha. Also familiar with Gulliver, oddly enough, though it had been a while.
And I'd take you up on that challenge, but you'd probably just hit me from orbit. :P

| Ah man, I need to watch that movie again. It's been ages since I saw Raiders.
I dunno. I've managed to get beyond Thunderdome so far, to play the joke, but that is an excellent play on words.

| And yes, Star Gate is a very good franchise which ran 10 seasons under SG-1, 5 seasons under SGA and had 5 full length feature films. In fact it's very hard to find a good Stargate rp site, with one I had been on previously closing and reopening multiple times though never capturing the same gusto and fame as the original first opening of the site.
There is one point in which you've misspoken. The Goa'uld dont just use Egyptian Deities for their naming, as they also use all worldly ancient religions for naming. Take for example the Goa'ulds Aries, Cronus, Amatarasu, Nirti and a few others that pull from Egyptian, Greek, African, Central America, etc etc. The only exception being the names of the Norse Deities which the Asgard named themselves after (the little grey men)
As for the Hatak class vessel, it was invented by a Goa'uld named Ptah, who also created the Death Glider with is their equivalent to a fighter, and the Alkesh which is a mid range bomber. Cool thing about Ptah, he is a Goa'uld System Lord with a minor domain, however he created his own Jaffa force which were compared to a rock in a storm, and while they may be weathered, they were always still standing at the end of an engagement. This coupled with his in depth knowledge as being the creator of the Goa'uld vessels made his domain the only one that was never touched by any other System Lord, not even the half ascended Anubis dared touch his domain.

| Hate to disagree, but SGA and SGU were crap compared to SG1. Then again, it's hard to follow something as awesome as SG1 and expect it to live up to the same measures.
I was always more a fan of the Ori though. The Goa'uld did have their epic moments, true, but the Ori and their similarities to blind Catholic mythos and devotion were far scarier.

| At first I had a problem with SGA, thinking it wasn't going to be good. However I sat down and stuck it out and it was well done, it could have been better, but it was still very good. SGU on the other hand was complete crap. It went from what made SG-1 and SGA Star Gate, and it threw it out the window in favor of some soap opera crap. I was relieved to hear that SGU was cancelled. Sadly it's also probably the reason why we wont see any new Star Gate movies in the coming years.

| You know every ship in the Goold Empire? That one culture ship could take them, from several lightyears away.
