| Okay, I request the floor for a few minutes here to make a point. Bear with me.

| We are indeed advocates of the people, Representative Vanden; well said. It is for this reason that a Senator with even slight military experience is better than one with none at all. Admirals and Generals are not always brash and ill-spoken; quite the opposite in fact, and it takes an expert eye to see when they are plying their silver tongues to wrangle out more from a chairman than they should have and as such, one with some military-minded presence would be better able to stand up to such.
Druckenwell is not 'relentlessly expanding,' Representative. Just because we do not jump for near-total peace with little defense as others do does not mean this at all. I will be the first to admit I treated the situation at Monor II wrongly; a situation that rectified itself and has seen Druckenwell and Monor II become friends and good neighbors. As representative of Monor II, even, I would daresay since I have not heard else from Priest-Prince Agapos IX, that I have his world's vote for Chairman as well.
Since Monor II, Druckenwell has reached out to other neighbors. Cavamina Minor has agreed to allow us to build a Druckenwell-operated security facility and holo-transmission station to act as a relay across the Doldur Sector for any planets within needing aid, and Geridard has entered into a mutually beneficial pact with us in which we supply vessels for defense of the world. All in all, we make friends, not brash decisions.

| I'm sorry. As the Governor of Eriadu as well as its Senator I've had more duties to attend to than I think most Senators. I don't make excuses, though. Won't happen again. My point was when it comes to who is in charge of your security, you have a man do it and not a woman. That's a simple fact. Senator Volfyr's chief of security is a man, Senator Thanatos's guards are men, Senator Cerra is rarely ever seen without her male bodyguard. Kind of weird really. But its a well known fact woman are about conflict resolution and men have a better understanding of conflict itself. But planetary defense isnt about preventing conflict, which Senator Volfyr helped do at Monor II. Its about planets conflicting with each other and how to do it and not do it. Its not a pillow fight, senators. It requires a calm and tactical mind.
Its not personal to Senator Volfyr but I'd rather see Bernard have the job.
